Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has offered employment to the woman, now identified as Mrs Joy Ifije. Aside the job offer, Gov Oshiomhole also gave the woman N2million grant for her to get a shop and trade. The governor met with Mrs Ifije yesterday Sunday Dec. 1st at the Government House and offered her the job which is to join the State’s War Against Indiscipline in the campaign against street trading and to keep the state clean. "When you put your things on the road a vehicle can run into you and they have killed some people like that and that was why I said if you are a widow do you want more people to be widowed? But when I said go and die, that one was said in a fit of anger. And I am really sorry”, Oshiomhole said. “I want you to join us. We would employ you and pay you salary. You would help us to campaign to other women not to trade on road sides. We should not use poverty as a yardstick. The Governor then gave the woman a cash gift of N2 million "In addition to working with the War Against Indiscipline, I am also giving you the sum of two million naira so that you can hire a shop, trade inside the shop and not roadside and I pray that God will bless your decision on how you utilize the money. This money is not for you to share or distribute but to help you as a working capital”. They were pictured having breakfast together

Tyler’s upcoming flick, Single Mom’s Club, focuses on four very different single mothers who cross paths after a crisis at their children’s school. The women come together to form an alliance, where they help each other cope with life’s challenges. On the other hand, AY’s 30 Days In Atlanta which stars AY alongside Hollywood’s Vivica A Foxx, Lynn Whitfield (in Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Family Reunion), Karlie Redd of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, Ramsey Nouah, Desmond Elliot, Richard Mofe Damijo, Uti Nwanchukwu, Kesse Jabari and a host of others, is an adventurous love story-spiced with lots of action and hilarious moments. It paints, in beautiful colours, the hugely popular (and social media trending) Akpos, who wins a 30-day holiday for two to Atlanta, Georgia. He takes his cousin (Richard), an IT specialist on the all-expense paid trip that lands them in a different world. Coca-Cola has become the most popular soft drink in the world, but, did you know it has other uses besides refreshing us on a hot day? 1. If you find your garden overrun by slugs and other bugs during the Spring and Summer months, pour some Coke into small containers and set them out in your yard. The sugar will attract the bugs and the acid in the Coke will kill them. This works on roaches too. 2. The crud that accumulates around the terminals of your car battery can be removed by pouring Coke over them, letting it sit for a few minutes, and then hosing off the residue. For extra hard spots, simply use a sponge to rub off the gunk. 3. Tired of scraping off that pesky ice from your windshield during winter? Simply pour a can of Regular Coke over it and wait. You’ll be amazed! 4. Have you ever heard that the only way to soothe a jellyfish sting is to pee on it? This is not only gross, but untrue. Instead, pour some Coca-Cola over the sting. The relief will be almost instantaneous. 5. Once in a while you may find that you, or your pet, came too close to a skunk and got sprayed. Using tomato juice might be effective but it’s messy and hard to clean. Instead, pour Coke all over yourself or your pet while in the shower, make sure to use a lot, so all areas are covered. Wait for a few minutes and then rinse off. You will smell fresh and clean once you’re done, and so will your pet. 6. To remove those ugly stains, simply pour Regular Coke into your toilet bowl over the dirty areas and wait for 10 minutes. The acid in the Coke will break up even the most difficult stains. 7. Fish Smell The boys went fishing and now their clothing smells so bad you want to throw it out? Salvage stinky clothing by pouring some Coke on your laundry during the wash cycle. 8. Hair Curling For perfect curls, even if your hair is straight, leave an open can of Coke out overnight. Then pour it over your long hair and let it sit for a few minutes. Rinse thoroughly. 9. Soothe Your Dog’s Paws When your pet’s paw pads become worn, they can cause your dog a lot of pain. When you notice them getting worn and shiny, soak your pet’s paws in glass bottle Coca-Cola for about 20 minutes. This will help soothe and heal your pet’s tired feet. There are some places in the world that don't Jesusand even Obama the way they know Coca-Cola Source: http://diamondodey..com/2013/11/shocking-things-you-didnt-know-about.html?m=1 |

The Chairman of G. U. O. Motors Limited, Chief Godwin Okeke, yesterday, commenced his evidence-in-chief at an Onitsha High Court in Anambra State, presided over by Justice Chudi Nwankwo, in respect of his abduction by kidnappers in Onitsha on Sunday, August 23, 2009. Okeke who spoke under oath, shortly after the court granted a motion to file and serve additional prove of evidence with respect to one of the suspected kidnappers, Alexander Onyinanya, filed by the prosecution counsel, Chris Ajugwe with Mrs. N. D. Wilcox. He narrated his encounter with the kidnappers at the All Saints Anglican Church Cathedral, Onitsha when he went for a Sunday worship with his wife, driver and some family members. How he was abducted Led in the evidence by his counsel, Okeke stated that he went for 7 a.m. service which ended at about 10 a.m, adding that between 10.30 and 11 a.m., his wife mounted the steering of his Nissan Amanda Spots Utility Van, SUV, and was driving towards the church gate when suddenly, gunmen blocked the car with a bus in front and a Mercedes Benz car at the rear. Okeke told the court that before he could ask questions, the gunmen started shooting sporadically, adding that even though he managed to disarm one or two of them, they shattered his left leg, over-powered him, drove away his wife and family members before bundling him into his SUV and zoomed off with the abductors’ vehicles following. I offered them N1bn, instead of N100m “After eating the breadfruit meal, they praised me for my courage and for accepting their food, unlike other victims who usually refuse to eat during their captivity.” He said they now asked him to get ready for negotiation to which he paid attention. “They told me that Chief Paul Okonkwor, Managing Director of Pokobros Group West Africa Limited paid them N70 million as ransom when they kidnapped him, while Chief Anthony Enukeme, Managing Director of Tonimas Oil Limited paid them N80 million during his own time and told me to pay them N100 million. “I replied them promptly that Okonkwor and Enukeme are millionaires, while I am a billionaire, and offered them N1 billion, instead of N100 million. “The offer gave them special joy as they now dropped their weapons by the side, relaxed and asked me how and when the money would get to them to which I told them that the money was in the bank.” At this stage, Justice Nwankwo ordered him to stop for the day till the next adjourned date. The court now adjourned the matter to November 14, 26, 27, 28, December 2, 3, 4, 5 and 9, this year for accelerated hearing and possible dispensation. Could it be that this lady is being arrested for indecent dressing or the indecency of her dressing manifested in the process of her arrest by the police? probably police harassment and molestation is the antidote to indecent dresses in our society where ladies now attracts cheap attention by exposing their boobs.. I doubt if the policeman can concentrate on his job

A source close to top guns in the Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU) has told Amenbovillage the lecturers will ditch their four month old strike this weekend so students could resume on November 18 (next Monday). The source said there was no way the union could reject the new offer of N220bn a year tabled by President Goodluck Jonathan during a marathon meeting with ASUU last week Tuesday. ASUU had come out of that meeting to tell Nigerians it needed time to deliberate on the new deal and reach a consensus among it members before talking to the press. A top official of the union, has however said the government could not be trusted even on the new offer, and that ASUU’s members were divided over the government’s offer. He, however raised a beam of hope by saying the majority still decided to give the government the benefit of the doubt. As ASUU executives meet this Wednesday, if the fate of the strike is down to a vote among the striking lecturers, as suggested by ASUU chairman, Nasir Fagge, the four month old impasse may surely end this week. ASUU went on strike July 1 over the non-implementation of a 2009 agreement it had with the government with a key component of the memorandum of understanding the allocation of 26% of Nigeria’s total budget to education. The bank of all banks have come to a conclusion to end money laundering, theft and some major financial crisis in Nigeria through the use of their costumers fingerprints for authentication According to PUNCH The Central Bank of Nigeria and the Bankers Committee on Tuesday sealed a biometric solution pact with a German Firm, Dermalog, for the development of a payment system that would be driven by fingerprints. The move, according to the Governor, CBN, Mr. Lamido Sanusi, will help to revolutionise the country’s payment system. For instance, unlike the current practice where different instruments are used as means of identification, bank customers will from 2014 be identified through their fingerprints. Sanusi, while speaking at the signing of the agreement, which was held at the central bank’s headquarters in Abuja, noted that the system would become operational on February 14, 2014. The committee, made up of the Group Managing Directors of Access Bank Plc, First Bank of Nigeria Limited, United Bank for Africa Plc, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc and Skye Bank Plc, had shortlisted Dermalog as the company to develop a database for the banking sector. Emefiele said, “The company that was awarded the contract has been given a very ambitious deadline, and before the contract was awarded, it agreed that it would deliver in 90 days. “The first phase of the project will connect the central data to the banks as well as the central bank and the Nigeria Interbank Settlement System. We believe that the company will do so, and by February 14, 2014, we are all very optimistic and looking forward for a gift from the banking industry. “The cost of the project is above $50m and the banks, in their wisdom and in line with their collaborative efforts, are going to be sharing the cost of the project, and no customer is going to be charged for this project.” Explaining the reason for the project, Sanusi said it would help to provide a single biometric database that would serve the purpose of authentication as well as address the issues of money laundering, fraud, credit extension and financial inclusion. He said, “The vision is that this will go beyond the banks and it is a very tight deadline that I have set for the committee and the committee has discussed with Dermalog; and in three months, we can officially say that every single Nigerian bank is connected to the system; and hopefully in the coming months, we will expect every customer of every branch of every bank in Nigeria to have complied to this, but it goes beyond the banking system. “We have about a thousand microfinance banks; we have customers of pension fund administrators; we have customers of insurance companies; we have people who deal with the stock market, and the vision for this is that everyone that deals with the financial system should have his biometric data captured, and this will be used for identification, verification and authentication.” Sanusi said the project would not have any negative impact on the national identity card project, adding that the biometric database of the banking sector would help to complement the Federal Government’s identity management project. Darkness at noon: Nigerians prepare for solar eclipse today 3rd Nov. Starting at midday today, young Nigerians would for the first time in their lives witness the solar eclipse, also known as eclipse of the sun. Solar eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon that occurs when the moon moves between the earth and the sun, partially or completely blocking the rays of the sun hitting the earth. Direct blockage of the sun’s rays in this manner casts a shadow on the earth, resulting in partial or total eclipse, depending on where on earth the cosmic event occurs. Solar eclipse happens because the moon is closer to the earth at an average distance of 384,400 km while the sun is about 150 million km from the earth. To prepare Nigerians for the unique astronomical event expected to happen today, Director, Centre for Basic Space Science, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Prof. Fidelis Opara, has predicted the time the solar eclipse would be observed in different parts of the country. According to him, the eclipse will occur in Abakaliki between 1.06pm and 4.09pm, in Ibadan between 12.52pm and 4.01pm, in Port Harcourt between 1.03pm and 4.09pm,in Enugu between 1.04pm and 4.07pm, in Lagos between 12.50pm and 4.01pm, in Kano between 1.07pm and 4.01pm; Abuja between 1.03pm and 4.03pm and in Uyo between 1.06pm to 4.09pm. Before astronomers demystified the sudden, sustained darkness associated with the solar eclipse, the occurrence of the cosmic event used to cause fear among people in certain regions of the world, who attributed a supernatural significance to it. To allay such fears, the Director-General of the National Space and Research Agency, Dr. Seidu Mohammed, advised Nigerians to note that the eclipse is a natural event that should not bring about undue panic. He urged all Nigerians to remain calm as the eclipse would not hinder normal activities...ART COMMUNICATIONs. SOURCE: http://www.diamondodey..com/2013/11/an-important-message-from-director.html?m=1 |
1. Don’t stare directly at the Sun. Staring is rude. The Sun has been around for billions of years, and without it, none of us would be here. Show a little respect. 2. Don’t look at the Sun through sunglasses. The Sun receives no compensation from the sunglass industry for the use of its name. The Sun believes this is unfair. The Sun filed a lawsuit. The Sun lost. The Sun is still bitter. A pair of sunglasses pointed at the Sun is like a slap in the Sun’s face. 3. Don’t look at the Sun through those 3-d glasses you got when you saw Avatar a couple years ago. 3-d glasses make two-dimensional images appear three-dimensional. The Sun is already three-dimensional. Who knows how many dimensions it would appear to be if you looked at it through 3-d glasses? I’m guessing four, four and a half, or nine. That’s too many for your tiny human brain to process. It would explode, the way computers always did on the original Star Trek TV series whenever anyone asked them to solve simple logic puzzles. 4. Consider using binoculars to project an image of the Sun onto the ground. But don’t look through the binoculars at the Sun. Also, don’t look through the binoculars into your neighbors’ windows; if your neighbors are anything like mine, this makes them inexplicably testy. 5. Consider using a pin and a large cardboard box to make a pinhole projector. But – and I cannot stress the importance of this enough – remember to use the pin to poke a hole in the box, not in your eye. 6. Consider using your fingers as a pinhole projector. Hold your hands so that your fingers overlap at right angles and the spaces between them form pinholes. But resist the temptation to make shadow figures with your fingers. You’ll get distracted and miss the whole eclipse. I hope this helps make today’s eclipse a safe and enjoyable experience. If you have any favorite eclipse-viewing tips of your own, please leave them in the comments. Source: http://diamondodey..com/2013/11/how-to-make-it-through-today-solar.html?m=1

Governor Peter Obi and his candidate, Willie Obiano had arrived to the prayer house [Adoration Ministry] at the early morning hours of about 12:15am to address the audience that had come for night vigil. The arrival caught the audience unaware and surprised. And as Peter Obi mounted the stage to address the audience – the audience broke out in a quiet murmur – unsure of what to make of it, the Governor continued to deliver his campaign speech with Willie Obiano standing beside him. Governor Peter Obi promised to make available N5million to the prayer house to help tackle a gully erosion site near the Adoration grounds As he spoke, the quiet murmuring grew louder – followed by chants of ‘Onwa, Onwa’. And in reaction to the chants of Onwa, Willie Obiano/Peter Obi’s men including security operatives began rushing towards the area where the chants of Onwa was coming from. The chanters were moving away from the approaching armed men. In the process, it turned into a stampede. At the end of the stampede, over 28 corpses were seen littered on the grounds. An estimate of over 200 were injured. A large percent of the dead and injured are believed to be Ngige supporters, this is according to one of the survivors of the stampede – who also added that “they rejected Obiano and willie and were chanting Ngige Ngige it took hours to calm the crowd by Father Ebube Muonso so that Peter Obi could speak. Peter Obi made donation of N2million to the Reverend Father. The Father rejected it and ask him to give that to the poor whom he have starved for years. And later there was a stampede. Obiano and Peter Obi has sucked the blood of innocent worshippers. Peter Obi is the Chimaroke of Anambra“ 28 corpses have been deposited at Crown Hospital Nkpor.
