powerfulguy: I appeal to the government to put an end to this shooting of protesters by security agents. We need to exercise great patience, restraint and compassion in handling the demands of these youth.
We must do all that is necessary to protect and engage with them on all issues. Please let the shooting stop and let fruitful dialogue commence.
Killing our young and defenceless children under any circumstances is wrong. Period. Killing our children is also killing our future as a nation. We must walk back from this. Mr. President this is what needs to be done. I appeal to you to do the right thing.
I am horrified by the use of lethal force against #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos. My heart bleeds for this country. It is sad and disheartening that this is happening. These are peaceful youth protesting to express legitimate concerns.
It is unacceptable for any Government to turn its weapons on its own young people. What has happened in Lekki tonight is nothing but a massacre.
This harrasment and extrajudicial killing of Nigerians must stop immediately and the security agents who carried out this exercise should be brought to justice. No life of any Nigerian youth taking part in a peaceful protest deserves to be taken.
This is not the Nigeria that we hope to leave for the next generation. Our young people are the future.
Dialogue is the only logical option in the current situation— not violence. Dialogue may take a longer time to work and it may appear frustrating. However, as a leading country in the comity of nations, the violent silencing of protesting youth cannot be an option. https://twitter.com/bukolasaraki/status/1318686801901531137?s=19[/quote]Saraki was very much part of the problem, instead of legislating for a better Nigeria, he was busy fighting his political enemies |

But some frustrated people on nairaland were attacking me. Miscreants are attacking and frustrating innocent citizens on the streets, raping women, stealing from people shops etc all in the name of protest. . But some cowards are supporting them. Now that the govt wants to deploy soldiers, I challenge all the noise makers on nairaland to go and protest. Let's see if they will come back and type nonsense.. DCatt: We already know that you liberals deny anything including your existence but it's not going to matter in the end, the criminals will have their day with justice. The 8 years old girl Hunter raped and tortured video is coming too, just brace yourself.
Do you that it's entered into Senate record because it's been given to the FBI since last year and the only reason it's now coming out is because some people have been preventing it from going public? Before anything get entered into Senate record they would have vetted it. Well, we can start with all these about Donald Trump before taking into consideration Hunter Biden's emails and photos: 1. Not declaring militia groups as terrorists. Antifa hasn’t carried out any murder plots but white supremacists do so regularly and have been for years. 2. Ivanka’s China deal with various endorsements 3. Having federal employees and foreign dignitaries stay at Trump hotels 4. Trump failed University 5. Trump rape allegations, still to submit his DNA 6. Having the Attorney General used as his personal lawyer 7. Supporting white supremacy groups 8. Voter suppression 9. Cozying up to the worst dictators (Russian, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Turkey) on this planet who are known murderers 10. Spreading tin foil hat conspiracy theories 11.Telling everyone the “China virus” was a hoax 12. Grab them by the 'pussy' 13. Obama birther conspiracy 14. Supporting people who planned to kidnap and possibly murder a sitting Governor 15. Tax fraud so bad it’s taking the IRS seven years to deal with it 16. Attending the private parties of a known sex slave operator 17. Allowing family members to work at the White House and giving them authority over seasoned employees and top security clearance, which should be an egregious ethics violation 18. Trying to base who gets federal COVID aid or any other federal relief based on whether it’s a blue or red state 19. Looked the other way when Khashoggi was murdered by the Saudi’s Crown Prince. 20. Asking if we could sell Puerto Rico rather than giving them aid. Trump has done ALL of the above and people are once again worrying about some random emails? |

salford: Everyone is avoiding the current abomination in the Whitehouse. Everyone avoiding Trump like a 'rash' Former RNC chairman endorses Biden with two weeks left in the electionhttps://edition.cnn.com/2020/10/20/politics/michael-steele-joe-biden-endorsement/index.htmlFormer Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on Tuesday, saying the former vice president "will pursue options that work towards healing the divide" worsened by President Donald Trump. Steele was the first African American to be elected to statewide office in Maryland, serving as lieutenant governor from 2003 to 2007. He was also the first African American to serve as chairman of the RNC. Steele joined the Lincoln Project, a group of Republicans opposing Trump's reelection, in August. "Many of Donald Trump's supporters bring legitimate concerns to the table. During my time leading the GOP, I endeavored to address these and other grievances through the lens of unity and growth. But Trump has energized the party through the exact opposite means -- by focusing on stoking division and eroding our core principles," Steele said in a statement issued by the Lincoln Project. "Although Vice President Biden and I disagree on some policy points, I believe he will earnestly pursue options that work towards healing the divide exacerbated by Trump and his administration," Steele added. "My support for Biden is because we share an everlasting loyalty to what is ultimately best for our nation." Since leaving his position as RNC chair in 2011, Steele has evolved into one of Trump's most prominent Republican critics.

Trump turns his ire toward Cabinet members BY MORGAN CHALFANT
https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/521508-trump-turns-his-ire-toward-cabinet-members
President Trump is publicly chastising some of his key GOP allies with just more than two weeks to go before the election.
Trump earlier this month expressed frustration with a pair of his most loyal Cabinet members — Attorney General William Barr and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo — for what he described as a failure to implicate his political enemies in wrongdoing.
More recently, Trump swiped at Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, seemingly blaming him on Thursday for not delivering a result after weeks of coronavirus relief talks with Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
Both Pompeo and Mnuchin have served in Trump’s Cabinet from early on in his term, putting them in the minority of top administration officials.
Trump is airing his frustrations amid an increasingly difficult battle for reelection against Democratic nominee Joe Biden. While the president has insisted he remains in a strong position in the race and casts doubt on the polls, public surveys nevertheless show Trump trailing in key battlegrounds as early voting begins in many states.
Trump has also found himself adrift from Republicans in the Senate as he pushes for a robust coronavirus relief package that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has effectively rejected.
Trump’s public rebukes of his own Cabinet members have been remarkable though perhaps not entirely surprising; he has often criticized his health experts and has even jettisoned officials whose actions he dislikes.
In recent weeks, Trump has repeatedly targeted FBI Director Christopher Wray, whom he nominated in 2017, particularly after Wray contradicted Trump’s assertions about potential fraud in mail-in ballots and his description of antifa. Because most, if not all of Trump's cabinet who should have been out there campaigning for him, have gradually stopped |
