PDPGuy: Yes, the road to her confirmation is clear, but we still need her to answer some tough questions.
Moreover, I’ll ask these additional questions
“Courts are not designed to solve every problem or right every wrong in our public life.”--Judge Amy Coney Barrett in her prepared statement to be delivered to the Senate's Committee on the Judiciary on Monday, October 12, 2020.
So, Judge Barrett, does that mean that Supreme Court decisions such as:
(a) Brown vs. Topeka, which ruled that "separate but equal" was unconstitutional; that black American citizens had no right to protest their apartheid existence in America and should not have been adjucated? or
(b) Roe vs. Wade, which ruled that a woman had a right to an abortion? or
(c) Obergefell vs. Hodges, which ruled that same-sex couples could indeed marry and be afforded the same rights and protections as "traditional" married couples?
These are just three Supreme Court cases, "settled law" in the words of recently-minted Justice Brett Kavanaugh, that you would, if you could, remove legal protections from minorities, women, and the LGBTQ communities--just to name a few-- because you think that these historically aggrieved, marginalized and menaced people (by a hostile majority) had no standing to bring their cases before the law? It is quite interesting that the same GOP senators are not prepared to pass the stimulus package this session, but are doing everything possible to stack the SC. Fair game to them. |

Texas early voting starts tomorrow if there is a large turnout I will believe it but I think Texas will be close if it goes blue this cycle I will be flabbergasted. Early voting in Georgiahttps://twitter.com/i/status/1315633526394572800

Zuorom: Did you liberals get outraged at all the things Iran have been saying and threatening against America? Now you are angry that Trump warned them not to mess with the US? You want Trump to be courteous and gentlemanly with people who won't hesitate to wipe america of the map of the world if they had the chance. Yes, his true colors are on show and that's the color of a president that is ready to deal mercilessly with any country that dares attack America. Yes he warned Iran by using a word which a 'Christian' believer like Trump should not use --- he used a curse word --- we can be angry, but not let our anger lead to sin. If you are happy with Trump choice of word on a live radio broadcast, then clap for yourself |

Is Hillary running for president?it seems Trump has dementia that he is going back to 4 years ago.
Nothing will come out of this or change his impending defeat this just goes to show that they have nothing on Biden and Harris Barr tells Republicans Durham report won't be ready by electionhttps://www.axios.com/barr-durham-report-election-3c02ec6a-7613-4083-b35c-4844de6da16b.html?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=organic&fbclid=IwAR2pAH_KJ4cd5upkyxA0nCwPhnX3xIWPc7k5Fb5iOYtnPdcqRMiwaoA67qIBarr tells Republicans Durham report won't be ready by election Attorney General Bill Barr has begun telling top Republicans that the Justice Department’s sweeping review into the origins of the Russia investigation will not be released before the election, a senior White House official and a congressional aide briefed on the conversations tell Axios. Why it matters: Republicans had long hoped the report, led by U.S. Attorney John Durham, would be a bombshell containing revelations about what they allege were serious abuses by the Obama administration and intelligence community probing for connections between President Trump and Russia. “This is the nightmare scenario. Essentially, the year and a half of arguably the number one issue for the Republican base is virtually meaningless if this doesn't happen before the election," a GOP congressional aide told Axios. Barr has made clear that they should not expect any further indictments or a comprehensive report before Nov. 3, our sources say. Politico first reported that Durham is not expected to release information related to the probe before Election Day and Senate Republicans were told of the intention within the last week. The Justice Department declined to comment. The White House did not respond to a request for comment. What we're hearing: Barr is communicating that Durham is taking his investigation extremely seriously and is focused on winning prosecutions. |
