Remove the plug completely and face it as shown in the picture. The cable is second from left.

Hello Engr Femi, how do I locate the DC points of this this 650 APC ups? I have converted one and I've not installed the DC fan yet. Any help please?

Do not make the mistake of tapping the DC points of the fan from the battery. What that means is that the DC fan will work indefinitely as long as the UPS is connected to the battery. Check the attached picture, there's a white plug having four black cables. The positive leg of the fan goes to the third cable while the negative is taken from the negative battery cable.

Without solar, will cost 70k. 650va converted UPS, one slim battery and charger.
Do this first and we discuss solar afterwards

Couple it and it's ready for action.

Mark out the position of the DC fan and cut the outer cover accordingly.

Fasten the DC fan to the UPS usinga silicone gum and look for a DC point to connect the fan

Remove the buzzer

Extend the DC cables

Remove the outer cover and the batteries

Will be posting live pictures from the conversion of this 1750va Bluegate UPS.

Like I said earlier it depends on some variables but give or take, you should be looking at upwards of 8months. I've sold some that's done 2years and still kicking. Hope you understand. I sell 200ah for 45k. Available also are the slim batteries too. Check the prices from my earlier post. Many thanks

1. Charging 2pcs 12vdc batteries with a 12vdc charger, all you need do is to connect the two batteries in parallel, that gives you 12vdc 400ah battery bank. I believe your charger is big enough to handle 400ah battery bank.

2. The life span of a new 200ah battery depends on so many variables, the quality of battery, the depth of discharge, the type of charging given to it etc. From personal experience, i think it should be between 18months and 24months, if lucky, could last longer than that.

1.5kva APC goes for 40k with external charger and 20k without external charger

No downside compared to conventional inverter

It uses a minimum of 2pcs 12v batteries and you'll require external charger. Installation can be done outside Lagos.
