When I was a kid, women in my place used to go to the farm very early in the morning, before sunrise and work in the farm. Some people even had huts there and would roast yam in the farm, work till evening before coming back home. I know of a particular woman who would go to the farm early in the morning and return around 7pm. No government told them to do any of that.
