Sports / FIFA Bans Mali Over Government Interference by femdevcon(f): 3:09pm On Mar 18, 2017

World football body, FIFA, on Friday in Zurich said all of Mali’s football clubs have been suspended from international competitions after the country’s government interfered in the national association.

FIFA took action after Mali’s sports minister, Housseini Amion Guindo, decided to replace the executive body of the Malian Football Association FEMAFOOT with a new provisional leadership.

“The suspension will be lifted once ministerial decisions are nullified,’’ it said in a statement.

In the meantime, FEMAFOOT has lost its FIFA membership rights, and the national team and clubs from the West African country are banned from international events

Sports / What You Don't Know About The New CAF President Ahmad Ahmad by femdevcon(f): 5:13am On Mar 17, 2017

Madagascar’s Ahmad Ahmad has won the CAF Presidential elections, defeating Cameroon’s Issa Hayatou who has been in power since 1988 (29 years). Ahmad won the election 34 to Hayatou’s 20.

Here Are Little Known Facts About The CAF Boss

• Ahmad who is also the deputy Senate President of Madagascar

• Ahmad visited Nigeria Senate President Bukola Saraki when he came to campaign in Nigeria.

• Ahmad Ahmad has been representing the South zone in the executive committee of CAF since 2013.

• The former Malagasy sports minister and senator is the president of Madagascar’s football Association where he is usually contested for his management.

• The 57-year old had promised during his campaign that he wants to reform the administration and bring change to CAF which has been under the firm control of Cameroonian born Issa Hayatou for close to three decades.

• Ahmad had been cited by London based Sunday Times for alleged corruption in the award of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar.

Phones / You Can Now Check Parking Availability Via Google Map by femdevcon(f): 7:05am On Jan 20, 2017
Search giant Google has reportedly introduced a new feature in Google Maps which tells users about the availability of parking spaces.

The new feature on Google Maps shows the status of parking availability at the destination that user has searched for in the Google Maps. Some users have reported that they can already see this status of parking availability in Google Map. The screenshots of the feature shared show parking availability as a small rounded 'P' icon. It shows up next to the travel duration in the Google Maps app. It is said to show in three levels: Limited, Medium and Easy.

the parking availability so far is shown only for public places like malls and airports etc. So far it is not clear if the feature will only be US-centric or rolled out globally. Besides giving parking information, the Maps app is also liely to get 'Keep map north up' feature, which is said to be a replacement of 'Tilt map'. The feature is expected to launch navigation mode with the map's compass pointed towards North. Disabling the app would lead to free map rotation with navigation.Recently, Google rolled out an update with Uber integration. The users can request an Uber ride directly from the Maps app. Not just that, users can check when the driver is en route to the pickup location, contact the driver and monitor trip status from Google Maps itself. The recent update is designed to save users the hassle of switching back and forth between Uber and Google Maps. To get started, users have to get to the 'ride services' menu in the app. They'll then see a list of all service providers as well as detailed ride options. They'll also be able to see any special offers or promotions that are running.

Hi femdevcom, technerds and everyone here. I have a peculiar problem with my infinix hot x507 . Any time a sim is set on 2g network, the sim will not see any signal most of the time. If you switch a sim to 3g, the sim will receive more signal than the other one. I have tried formatting, factory resetting, wishful thinking, all to no avail. Please is there anything suggestions on how I can improve the phone reception so I can enjoy my both 2g and 3g reception on phone? I have a lot of unused 2g data that will expire very soon. Thanks.
Before any suggestions Sir. Have you taken the phone for repair lately?
Computers / The Technology That Could Put Nigeria In Competition With Silicon Valley by femdevcon(f): 4:38am On Oct 04, 2016
Quote me anywhere and anytime, The Silicon valley is center stage of Technology in the world.

It is home to many of the world's largest high-tech corporations and thousands of startup companies.

Silicon Valley is a leading hub andstartup ecosystem for high-tech innovators and developers accounting for one-third of all of the venture capital investment in the United States.

It's so insulting and an understatement to say Nigeria can't put together a Silicon valley Like-Ecosystem that could compete with any high technology and startup company or country in the world

Considering the huge talents of Nigerian innovators and developers scattered here in Nigeria and the world over.

In a recent research carried out earlier this year, statistics shows that for every 5 blackmen working for any company within the Silicon valley , At least 2 among them are bound to be Nigerians

The Taste for Nigerian innovators and Developers is ever sought-after worldwide.
It's Pertinent to say That Nigerians Developers, innovators and Programmers are among the secret success stories of many world Known Technology companies in the world.

Nigeria can leverage on the Huge potentials and The Geeky /Tech Trait of most Nigerians To Put Nigeria in competition with Silicon valley as well as a strong force to reckon with in Africa With .Tech-Wise..

Nigeria Can carve a Niche For herself as The Technology Hub of Africa or should I call it "The Silicon Valley of Africa".

Areas The Nigerian Government can look into Are

App Development:

in the what is known as the "New World Order" in the Circles of Technology. App Development is unarguably a multibilion Dollars industry that rewards creative App Developers With Million of Naira.

It's was not a Mistake The Facebook, Founder Mark Zuckerberg Started his Subsaharan African Tour With Nigeria. I think the Legions of Nigerian Developers he has worked With is insightful enough for him to Know that this Country is Blessed With Talents and Behold!! He wasn't disappointed by what he saw , he was wowed beyond his expectation .

Earlier last Month , Zuckerberg endorsed a Game Spike Rush invented by an 11year old Nigerian Olatayo Sobomehin. I don't need to mention many others that has done Nigeria proud.

Software Engineering:

Software is at the heart of the global knowledge economy. The increasing adoption of ICT enabled tools and technologies further enhance the value of software. Software presents Nigeria with an opportunity to take high up position in the global ICT value chain. The value chain consists of the creators, distributors, resellers and consumers. To make sense of the ICT revolution, forward-thinking countries ensure that they carve out a niche in the high value, creative portions of the value chain. Nigeria is Africa's busiest ICT market because of the trading, importing and consumption in ICT. But these alone are not strengths in the new economy. Software opportunities can unleash the potentials of the Nigerian nation. With its large, youthful, educated and enterprising populace, software provides Nigeria with a unique opportunity.

The most obvious opportunities for the local software industry therefore are the specialized application development markets - producing software for accounting, legal, banking, financial services, personnel, payroll, information management, games, etc. There are several local software providers doing well but as a whole the software industry needs to move faster than it is doing at present. To move Nigerian into its right place in the value chain, the challenges faced by the local software industry must be addressed. A large proportion of Nigeria's software business is in the hands of firms based outside Nigeria. Local developers are losing out to ignorance and foreign software providers. Most Nigerian businesses, especially the small businesses, don't invest in specialized software, for them the packaged / office applications are as far as it goes. Awareness is low about the benefits of software. And for most of the large corporate organizations that invest in niche software, foreign software is regarded as the better option.

Other Areas Nigeria can Look into Include include.

• PC Peripheral Assemblage and Manufacturing
• Nano Technology
• Artificial intelligence
• e-Forensic.
• Robotics/Mechanics
•Digital Automobile Engineering

Among others.

Conclusion
All the aformentioned above can't be a reality if The Nigerian Government Failed to improve on it Power Supply, truly cheap and fast internet access .

However lack of governmental support and enabling breeding ground for Programmers, Developers, startup companies as well as Technology Enthusiast Will make The vision of Nigeria been the hub of technology in Africa a Smokescreen.

Phones / 'godless' The Malware Threatening Android Devices Right About Now by femdevcon(f): 5:56am On Jun 23, 2016

An Android-based malware called Godless , is targeting devices running Android Lollipop or earlier.

Malicious apps related to this threat can be found in prominent app stores, including Google Play, and has affected over 850,000 devices worldwide

Godless often surreptitiously downloads unwanted apps, and is capable of displaying malicious ads. It can also install backdoors and "spy on users.
This is to sound a note of Warning to Android users to review the developer when downloading apps. "Unknown developers with very little or no background information may be the source of these malicious apps.

Two ways

Its either you have a site with blog and ecommerce integrated so as to serve as a platform for your love(writing) and also make you money

Or you build a site..which is going to look like a blog anyway..and link a blog to it

The site will serve as a formal location for business activities such as sales of books and and your article writing service while the blog serve as the location for letting out your bullets

The first may pay you well as you can integrate adsense on both side..site and blog

But the later can only take adsense on the main site and not the part

all you need is blog as well as the e-commerce app version of it.
