You truly deserve this success. Congratulations!! Massive hard work and persistence do pay off. ednut1: PPR story- Battle with IELTS(ignore typos )
Timeline IELTS 7th attempt: LRWS – 8.5,7,7,7 ECA: WES BSC and ICAN AAT Score: 465 ITA: 12th June 2018 AOR: 25th June 2019 MEP/BIL: 25 July 2019 Biometrics: 26th July 2019 GU: 21st February 2020 PPR: 22nd February 2020 COPR: 10th march 2020 VO: Ottawa Single Applicant.
Decision to Travel First heard about express entry in August 2016 from a colleague who was in the process. At that time, it looked too expensive to run and focused on getting a better job. No thanks to incompetent Buhari and his body odor I made up my mind to leave. Also, many of my colleague who left were getting jobs with the Canada office and other competitors of my Nigerian office.
ECA A friend advised I use IQAS for assessment as it was faster than WES. So I registered in august 2017 paid and sent my transcript. Only to discover I registered for a wrong assessment, I called them on phone and was asked to register for right one and include a letter saying they should cancel the first application and apply the funds to the second one. A month later they mailed me saying I should reapply and pay as they were going to refund me. As at this time scores were rising, and I was getting scared. I then came across a post on here ( Nairaland) about ICAN AAT being evaluated favourable by WES . As soon as IQAS refunded me I abandoned them and switched to WES. As I was about to apply for another transcript NASU went on a 4 months strike, so I face ICAN AAT. ICAN refused to verify and told WES I was owing them hence they can’t confirm. But the funny thing was that before you can apply for ICAN Transcript you must have paid all dues. I sha sent them evidence and left them to God. NASU would later call off the strike March or April 2018 and my transcript was sent. ECA was completed late April 2018. Big battle with IELTS (LRSW) If anyone had told me I would struggle with IELTS I would not have believed Shebi its English. I did not prepare much as such. I paid for IELTS late 2017 but missed as I was sent to PH for a project.
First IELTS February 2018 with BC—8.5, 8,8,6.5 (remark took 3 months no change). Second IELTS June 2018 – 6,8.5,8.6.5. I booked for another one with IDP lagos but due to work commitments I could not come back as to Lagos as planned. I requested for change of Venue to PH. MOD said no, so I paid for another one in PH center 2 days to the test date. They used a bad speaker (not headset o) for listening we all protested and filled the complaints form. The listening came out bad as expected, I sent them emails to threaten them with lawsuit. The Lagos office seemed to care less but the Australia office sounded worried and scared. So, they gave me a free test in Lagos.
Third IELTS August 2018 with BC – 7.5,8,7.5.6.5 While dragging with MOD IDP I had gone to pay for another BC. The listening and writing spoilt it again
Fourth IELTS August 2018 with MOD IDP (free)- 8,8,7.5, 6.5. applied for remark no change. At this point I gave up and forgot totally about Canada and stop visiting the naira land thread. To compound my woes I missed an Ontario PNP draw(400 and above for the chosen NOC) with my 415 crs scores as I did not open a profile because I thought it was too low. How can 0.5 difference be worth 50 points nitori olorun. 2018 was almost over with nothing to show na soso IELTS chai.
Fifth IELTS January 2019 with MOD IDP- 8.5,7,8,6.5 I used the services of a tutor. Still could not pass the writing. remark came back unchanged. I drove all the way from VI to Ogudu to pick it up only to see same score. I just went to a nearby eatery to chill and think about my life. Na me IELTS dey disgrace like this.
SIXTH IELTS march 2019 with BC – 7,7.5,7.5,6.5 I tried CBT next, maybe it was my chicken that was making me score 6.5. I has issues with the CBT listening (mouse keyboard typing and concentration was very hard).
FINAL IELTS April 2019 with MOD IDP 8.5, 7,7,7 At the point i was determined to get a real IELTS examiner to solve my debacle. I searched on linkedin and nairaland till I found one. He had worked for BC as an examiner for 4 years before he left. He reviewed my essays and told me the problem areas. (punctuations, spelling, grammar, subject verb agreement). We worked together for 3 weeks and he told me I was almost ready. i went behind his back to book a test with 3 days to go. I made sure I planned my time. I used 10 mins to review my work. Result came out around 5 am that day and I was elated. 679k ( 75+75+15+68+68+75+46+68+46+75+68) waka on top IELTS o . dived into the pool with 465.
ITA With my battle with IELTS over ITA was too sure for me. It was a public holiday and I headed for my office so as to scan and gather documents, but CRS was 470 that day. I was like village people must be behind this. Ontario then sent me an NOI few days later which I ignored as I had no $1,500 CAD to give them. Finally got ITA on June 12.
POST ITA-I had gathered all most of the documents after I passed IELTS except for POF
Medicals – IOM
REFERENCE LETTER-submitted only reference letter from my current workplace.
POF- part gift deed, part savings and Pension. Submitted Mutual funds reference letter, PFA reference letter, gift deed (not notarized) and bank statement to show inflow of gift deed.
PCC- renewed a PCC I had done in faith sometime in 2018 with Insp Moshood.
DIGITAL PASSPORT- Initially used a phone app but I looked like a Cameroonian instead of a Canadian. Later went to studio 24.
AOR/MEP/BIL June 25/July 25/July 26
POST AOR I was confident the PPR would come fast so I could leave Nigeria in 2019 but by December no PPR. I had ordered for GCMS notes in October (Got a 3 months delay notice). I ordered for a CBSA note in December 2019. I called CIC severally the agents told me my file was on review required but they refused to tell me what area. I guessed it was the pensions part (10% of my total POF). Some people advised I send in an updated POF whole some warned me not to. I later sent the updated POF(converted my naira to USD and added more money) and replaced the pensions with cash. GCMS notes came in late January, as at request date was still in central intake office and I had a review required on STAT questions (Visa refusal in 2005 to UK) I was granted the Visa after addressing the issue noted and was granted. so, I began to wonder why it was an issue. CBSA note came in early February and revealed review required on proof of funds. Pensions was not considered by the officer, so I was short of POF by 900 CAD. I sent them a mail informing them I had addressed the POF issue. I was already paranoid at this point and was fearing rejection.
PPR I got a ghost update and called IRCC . the agent told me application approved. The golden mail came in the next day. COPR approved 10th of March. The journey was a long hard one for me and am glad it ended well. See you all in Canny. . . |

Please what do you mean by personal history? Is it different from EE profile? amaya21: 1) Any work experience can be added to your EE if it was paid, performed within the last ten years, and within NOC A, B or 0. However, people can choose which ones they want to put in personal history and which ones they want in EE.
2) You can modify/delete your profile without penalty
3) Spouses are not required to include work experience in EE, especially outside Canada as it doesn't add points. However, after ITA the spouse will need to declare work experience among other things in the last ten years when filling the personal history section. |

Thank you so much @ednut1, you are such a phenomenal person. I sincerely appreciate your prompt response. God bless you. However. I am not clear about response number two, Can I go ahead and withdraw the application and would not be affected? ednut1: 1- no issue 2- you can 3- it may lead to extensive security checks. As long as he has no record of genocide or killings nothing to worry about |

Hello everyone. Great job everyone here always ready to help (Too numerous to mention). May God bless you all, amen. I have some questions and would need help 1) I have job experience not related to my degree or NOC (4165), can this be added to my EE profile? 2) I entered the pool before coming here and I now realise a lot of precautions I should have taken before filling out the EE, Is it possible I delete my profile and apply again? Will I be affected? 3) My current EE score is 450, started learning french to improve it, however, worried about my spouse's NOC because its equivalent is military, will this affect my application?
Thank you in advance |
