Literature / [fiction] Python Dance by feralgang: 4:57pm On Oct 20, 2017
Adaeze was frightened due to the ‘huge python dance’ that would happen in Owerri soon. She was afraid because she thought that that which happened in Aba might happen in Owerri – how the huge python had multitude for meal. So she slowly let her lacrimal pour out tears, which crawled down her cheeks. Emotional strength overpowered her, as she was afraid of any form of dance that would jeopardize lives. She began to think of those that might be injured or killed should the dance happen now. She sat on the wooden bench, jaw firmly sitting between the gap of her two fingers, and the tip of her elbow anchored by her right lap. Thoughts ran over thoughts, pity was filled with waters of pity-pot, left for its pour.

Mama wasn’t happy seeing Ada in her state, so she began,
‘Adamma, why are you crying?’
In a reluctant manner, assisted by a weakening voice she replied,
‘Is it not the Python?’
‘Which python?’ Mama asked
‘The one that danced at Aba’

Mama was actually considering when pythons began to dance, or would it be that some other animals catwalk also, who knows? She thought.

‘Pythons don’t dance my daughter, they patrol on their belly – law-abiding patrol alone, but are very swift sometimes’.

Mama was actually considering that it was high time her daughter visited EGBELU, the python jungle in Owerri, so that she might see for herself how pythons patrol. Actually the pythons in Egbelu didn’t ‘dance’ in their operations. They only patrolled according to the ethics that governed the kingdom of Egbelu, and they didn’t take laws into their hands, as the Commander-in-Chief of the python wouldn’t permit or tolerate that. He always checkmated the python-officers, and ensured that they didn’t patrol beyond rules. It was obvious to Mama who knew too well how the ancient pythons patrolled – they didn’t harm any innocent souls in the jungle. So, taking her daughter to the python camp would be cool, but second thoughts occupied her mind.

She did all she could to let daughter understand, while daughter kept trying her best to let Mama get it. Mama was an ‘old school’ now, Ada considered. She didn’t understand the social media and what was going viral concerning the ‘python dance’.

‘Well, Mama, I don’t blame your ignorance regarding the python dance, because your old age wouldn’t let you understand information that go viral on social media, but I still wish you understand’
‘hahahaha, my daughter, you children and social media. Do you know when we started partying with the pythons at Egbelu? Pythons that ate in multitudes, and are still eating – those who deserved to be eaten though. I think ‘nne gi’ hasn’t told that to you, as I narrated to her, and others’.

Adamma thought that Mama was just trying to excite or entertain her by her ‘fallacy’, not knowing that she meant all she said – she did party with the pythons, popularly known as ‘Eke nwe ohia’. She didn’t take that seriously anyways, as she turned her face left-sideways, and continued her mourning – thinking that Mama’s head was getting weak; considering the difference between ‘dance and partying’. She knew that in parties dance is must.

Mama didn’t give her chances to be alone while she was a physical company to her – she had always wanted to put smiles on her grandchildren’s faces, and Ada’s wouldn’t be an exception.

Religion / Did Adam And Eve Actually Get Married Like Christians Claim? (biblical Errors by feralgang: 9:23pm On Aug 19, 2016
Nowadays we see pastors referring to the story of Adam and Eve to back up their Point and Argument of Sex before Marriage and the ensurance of Marriage .
But does the story of Adam and Eve according to the Bible really support this? You will find out soon.

My Point here is far more basic: Where, exactly, does the bible story ever say that Adam and Eve were married?
They certainly did not get married in anything like the way we regard marriage in our contemporary society today.
They had no clergy around to conduct such a ceremony , and no one to serve as witnesses.
They never seem to have exchanged vows. The strongest claim we can make for their marriage, based on the story itself, is that it was a kind of common-law arrangement.
In the story itself, Adam and Eve simply shacked up together. Although, of course, shacks — like clothing — had not yet been invented.
Neither had marriage, for that matter. All of these things — shacks, clothing, clergy, marriage, common law — are anachronisms we reflexively project back into the story. But none of them can be found there, and the story itself works hard to prevent us from expecting to find them in it.
The one place the story itself suggests that the relationship of Adam and Eve was something like a kind of marriage is in one verse,
Genesis 2:24: “Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh.”
Jesus himself cites this verse in Matthew 19 in response to the Pharisees’ questions about divorce. Clearly, then,
Jesus regarded that verse as a teaching about marriage.
I agree that it is, of course. That verse clearly is about marriage.
But even more clearly, that verse is not about Adam and Eve. It explicitly does not and cannot apply to them.
Adam, the story tells us, adamantly, did not have a father and mother. Adam did not “leave his father and mother
and cling to his wife.” Adam, rather, chose to cling to Eve after first evaluating “every animal of the field
and every bird of the air” as potential partners first.
Genesis 2:24 is an aside — a parenthetical comment to the reader declaring one “moral of the story,” but not a part of the story itself.
That “moral of the story” is that we non-Edenic readers should “therefore” leave our parents and cling to our spouses just like Adam and Eve did in their relationship.
The timing and placement of this aside seems well-chosen. The storyteller wants to be clear that the clinging to one another bit is the important part,
lest anyone get the idea that the prior consideration of all the beasts and birds should be the takeaway lesson here. (“Therefore, a man leaves his father and his mother and gets himself a dog to see if that makes him happy.”)
Even there, though, in this explicit address to the reader, the story does not name or characterize that
relationship of Adam and Eve as a marriage. (Nor does Jesus’ citation of that verse in Matthew 19.)
The story makes it very, very difficult for anyone to do that.
And yet Christians do do that. They’ve been doing that for centuries — turning to the story of Adam and Eve to validate the essence and importance of marriage.
That’s an odd move. It’s not wholly mistaken, in that the story itself includes
that editorial aside inviting us to reflect on what the relationship of Adam and Eve in this story can teach us about
the later invention of marriage.
But if we turn to the story itself, on its own terms, and ask what it tells us about “marriage before the Fall,” then what it seems to tell us is this:
Marriage did not yet exist. There was not yet any such thing as “marriage” in Eden.

Thanks for Reading. So Now i think you have enough Valid Point to correct your Pastor or a Preacher who tries to Bamboozle you with the Story Of Adam and Eve in Relation to Marriage .
You had better tell him to look for another Verse in the Bible Instead.
You can Share with your friends to Make them aware of this.

The Painful Pleasure (TPP)
EPISODE 1

I waited patiently as the phone loaded slowly due to the poor network. Believe me, network is always very slow whenever one wants to check result.

It was my third post UTME in the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University. My first and second post UTME result was 168 and 199 respectively, i could remember vividly that my mum (who gathered money from her petty trade of fruits) said to me having seen my second trial result “If only they were so nice to add one mark, you would have gotten 200″.

Well, she was very sad, but she still encouraged me (without even talking about the money with which she obtained the form for me). She just said that i should try more, she said ” ti esin ba da ni, a maan tun gun ni” which means that; when a horse makes one fall, we try climbing again. . .

I was so lost in thought, all i could think of was my mum who had been struggling to make me someone in life. She has been doing all these alone since i lost my father when i was ten in a fatal accident along Lagos-Ibadan express way (that was some 8 years back). Since I’m the only child, she has only shown me so much care and affection, and i can’t afford to fail post utme the third time. . .

All these was going through my mind, and my thoughts were too crowded to notice that the result has loaded, and is right on the screen staring at me. I snapped out of my thoughts to discover that ‘the bridegroom’ is here, all i needed to do was to ‘zoom’ on my outdated Blackberry tour that i bought (3000 Naira, UK used) with my life savings. Trembling with so much fear, i pressed the middle key, there came my result. I looked at it, and behold. . . .

What exactly did he score?

Celebrities / 15 Celebrities Convicted For Tax Evasion by feralgang: 7:15pm On Jul 20, 2016
Just because celebrities are rich and famous doesn’t mean life is always glamorous for them. In fact, many members of the Hollywood elite have endured serious tax troubles. And while celebrities aren’t necessarily more likely to break the law than their fans, they do have a far greater likelihood of being audited. Here are 15 celebrities that committed tax evasion — and got caught.
Stephen Baldwin tax evasion
1. Stephen Baldwin
In March 2013, actor Stephen Baldwin pleaded guilty to not paying New York state income taxes in 2008, 2009 and 2010, totaling $400,000. Baldwin narrowly avoided jail time and was given one year to pay the debt back in full. Repayment of his debt meant his record would be wiped clean.
Baldwin told reporters he never intended to avoid paying taxes, and that he had received bad advice from lawyers and accountants. He was able to satisfy his debt in full before his deadline.
This wasn’t the end of Baldwin’s tax troubles, however. TMZ reported in September 2015 that he owed $90,000 in back taxes again — $30,000 to New York and $60,000 to the federal government.
Nicholas Cage tax evasion
2. Nicolas Cage
Nicolas Cage racked up a $13.3 million tax debt after failing to pay his debts to the IRS in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2008. The actor blamed his former business manager for the mishap, claiming he was not aware of the situation.
“Over the course of my career I have paid at least $70 million in taxes,” Cage said in a statement to TMZ. “Unfortunately, due to a recent legal situation, another approximate $14 million is owed to the IRS, however, I am under new business management and am happy to say that I am current for 2009. All taxes will be paid including any to be determined state taxes.”
At the end of 2008, the federal government placed a tax lien on the actor’s real estate holdings. In April 2012, Cage paid $6.25 million toward his tax debts and another $600,000 in November 2012, but he reportedly still has more to pay.
Heidi Fleiss tax evasion
3. Heidi Fleiss
In 1997, the former “Hollywood Madam” was sentenced to 37 months in prison for tax evasion and money laundering. The judge went easy on Heidi Fleiss, imposing a prison term much less than the maximum suggested punishment of 78 to 97 months. Fleiss ultimately served 20 months in prison and was released to a halfway house to complete her term.
Her punishment also included 300 hours of community service, three years of supervised release, a $400 fine and mandatory attendance at a substance abuse program.
Joe Francis tax evasion
4. Joe Francis
The “Girls Gone Wild” founder was convicted of tax evasion in 2009. Joe Francis pleaded guilty to filing false tax returns — where he withheld $500,000 in interest income — and for giving jail workers up to $5,000 in goods in exchange for food.
Francis was ordered to pay nearly $250,000 in restitution to the IRS. He was sentenced to 301 days already served and one year of probation.
Dolce and Gabbana tax evasion
5. Dolce and Gabbana
Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were entangled in a tax nightmare dating back to 2007, before they were eventually vindicated in October 2014. In June 2013, the duo was convicted of failing to file tax returns for their company in Italy. Prosecutors claimed the designers owed approximately $50.7 million for 2004 and 2005 as a result of the 2004 sale of the company’s main brands to Luxembourg-based Gado.
Before Italy’s high court found Dolce and Gabbana not guilty of tax evasion, two lower courts had found the high-end designers guilty of tax evasion and had imposed 18-month jail terms. Prosecutors had been pushing for three-year jail sentences, accusing the two of running a “sophisticated tax fraud” operation by using Gado as a shell to avoid paying taxes. In an unexpected turn of events, another prosecutor argued during a March 2014 appeal that Gado was in fact a real company.
Teresa and Joe Giudice tax evasion
6. Teresa and Joe Giudice
In July 2013, Teresa and Joe Giudice were indicted on 39 counts of fraud and tax charges. Among the host of allegations was a charge aimed at Joe for failing to file tax returns from 2004 to 2008 — a four-year period during which he earned a total of $1 million. A few months later, in November 2013, the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” stars were charged with an additional two counts.
Teresa failed to disclose her full salary from the hit Bravo reality show and lied under oath about the income she received from other business ventures. Like his wife, Joe also lied under oath about failing to file his tax returns. The Giudices initially pleaded not guilty when they were charged in the summer of 2013, but ultimately changed their plea to guilty in March 2014.
In total, Teresa pleaded guilty to four counts and Joe pleaded guilty to five counts — including not filing his tax returns. U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas sentenced Teresa to 15 months in prison and Joe to 41 months in prison. The couple was ordered to pay $414,588 in restitution.
Judge Salas allowed the couple to stagger their sentences so their four young daughters would have one parent at home. Teresa’s prison sentence began on Jan. 5, 2015 and she was released on Jan. 11, 2016. Joe will start his sentence in a few months and, as he is not a U.S. citizen, might face deportation after he is done serving his time.
Leona Helmsley tax evasion
7. Leona Helmsley
The billionaire hotel magnate whose entitled personality earned her the nickname “the queen of mean,” was convicted of evading $1.2 million in taxes in 1988. Leona Helmsley was sentenced to four years in prison and 750 hours of community service — ultimately serving a total of 21 months.
After learning that Helmsley had her employees perform some of her community service chores, the judge added 150 additional hours of community service. Helmsley was famously quoted as saying, “Only little people pay taxes.”
Lauryn Hill tax evasion
8. Lauryn Hill
In 2013, Lauryn Hill spent three months in prison for tax evasion after failing to pay more than $1 million in taxes over a decade. The singer pleaded guilty to the charges in June 2012, admitting to not paying taxes on $1.8 million in earnings from 2005 to 2007. Her three month sentence also included unpaid state and federal taxes from 2008 and 2009, which brought her total tax debt to approximately $2.3 million.
The former member of the band The Fugees told the judge she had intended to pay her tax bill eventually, but didn’t have the money after leaving the music business. Hill was ultimately released from prison several days early and given one year of probation, which included three months of home confinement. But Hill’s tax troubles weren’t yet behind her, as nearly six months later she was hit with seven tax liens from 2005 to 2011, totaling nearly $867,000.
Fat Joe tax evasion
9. Fat Joe
In August 2013, Joseph Cartagena, better known as the rapper Fat Joe, turned himself in to serve a four month sentence for tax evasion. Fat Joe had pleaded guilty in December 2012 for skimping out on taxes in 2007 and 2008, resulting in over a $1 million tax bill. The rapper was released early on Thanksgiving Day but was ordered to pay a $15,000 fine and undergo one year of supervision.
Willie Nelson tax evasion
10. Willie Nelson
In 1990, legendary country singer Willie Nelson was hit with a $32 million bill in back taxes from the IRS. The government agreed to reduce his debt by nearly $15 million — bringing the grand total to $17 million — but he still didn’t have the money to pay it. Consequently, the IRS seized almost all of his assets, leaving him with a remaining $15 million tax bill.
As a way to get their money, the IRS got creative and allowed Nelson to record the album “Who’ll Buy My Memories? (The I.R.S. Tapes)” to raise funds. Under the arrangement, Nelson had to sell four million copies of the album to erase his debt. In 1993, Nelson successfully paid off his tax bill.
Pete Rose tax evasion
11. Pete Rose
Disgraced former baseball hero Pete Rose was convicted of tax evasion in 1990, sentenced to five months in jail and fined $50,000 after failing to report more than $354,000 in income from baseball memorabilia sales, autograph signings and gambling. Rose was also ordered to spend three months in a halfway house and perform 1,000 hours of community service after serving his time.
In 2004, he was hit with a tax lien for almost $1 million in back taxes. After paying the nearly $974,000 bill in 2011, he found himself on the hook again for unpaid taxes in 2009 and 2010 — this time for a total of $120,643.41.
Ja Rule tax evasion
12. Ja Rule
In March 2011, rapper Ja Rule — whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins — pleaded guilty to failing to file tax returns and agreed to pay more than $1.1 million in back taxes. In total, Ja Rule pleaded guilty to three counts of failing to file a tax return, from 2004 to 2008, despite the fact that he was earning an income during this time period.
The rapper was sentenced to 28 months in jail for attempted illegal gun possession and tax evasion. Ja Rule began his prison sentence in June 2011 and was released early in May 2013. He spent the final two months of his sentence in home confinement.
Wesley Snipes tax evasion
13. Wesley Snipes
In 2008, Wesley Snipes was convicted on three misdemeanor counts of failing to file tax returns from 1999 to 2001. The actor kept a total of $7 million in taxes from the federal government during this time period.
After losing an appeal for a retrial in 2010, he was sentenced to three years in a Pennsylvania prison for white-collar offenders. Snipes was released from prison on April 2, 2013 and finished the final three and a half months of his sentence in home confinement.
Darryl Strawberry tax evasion
14. Darryl Strawberry
In 1994, Darryl Strawberry and his agent were indicted on federal tax evasion charges, claiming the troubled baseball star failed to report more than $500,000 in earned income from 1986 to 1990. The pair pleaded innocent to the charges, but in 1995, Strawberry was sentenced to six months of house arrest and ordered to pay $350,000 in back taxes.
Because Strawberry still owed back taxes for 1989, 1990, 2003 and 2004, the IRS seized his retirement annuity from the New York Mets in 2014. It was auctioned off for $1.3 million in 2015.
H. Ty Warner tax evasion
15. H. Ty Warner
Beanie Babies creator and founder of Ty Warner Hotels & Resorts, H. Ty Warner, was convicted of tax evasion in January 2014. Warner — who has a net worth of approximately $1.7 billion — failed to report $24.4 million in gross income to the IRS from 1999 to 2007.
According to his attorneys, Warner paid a civil penalty of $53 million and filed amended tax returns for each year from 1999 to 2008. Prosecutors said he also paid $14 million in back taxes and interest. Despite multiple attempts by prosecutors to make Warner serve jail time, a three judge 7th Circuit Court of Appeals panel ruled in July 2015 that he wouldn’t spend time behind bars.

Religion / The Last Great Prophet : Learn The Traits Of Persistence From This Man by feralgang: 8:51am On Jun 23, 2016
Consider, for example, the strange and fascinating story of Mohammed; analyze his life, compare him with men of achievement in this modern age of industry and finance, and observe how they have one outstanding trait in common, PERSISTENCE!
If you are keenly interested in studying the strange power which gives potency to PERSISTENCE, read a biography of Mohammed, especially the one by Essad Bey.
This brief review of that book, by Thomas Sugrue, in the Herald-Tribune, will provide a preview of the rare treat in store for those who take the time to read the entire story of one of the most astounding examples of the power of PERSISTENCE known to civilization.

THE LAST GREAT PROPHET
Reviewed by Thomas Sugrue
“Mohammed was a prophet, but he never performed a miracle. He was not a mystic; he had no formal schooling; he did not begin his mission until he was forty. When he announced that he was the Messenger of God, bringing word of the true religion, he was ridiculed and labeled a lunatic. Children tripped him and women threw filth upon him. He was banished from his native city, Mecca, and his followers were stripped of their worldly goods and sent into the desert after him. When he had been preaching ten years he had nothing to show for it but banishment, poverty and ridicule. Yet before another ten years had passed, he was dictator of all Arabia, ruler of Mecca, and the head of a New World religion which was to sweep to the Danube and the Pyrenees before exhausting the impetus he gave it. That impetus was threefold: the power of words, the efficacy of prayer and man’s kinship with God.
“His career never made sense. Mohammed was born to impoverished members of a leading family of Mecca. Because Mecca, the crossroads of the world, home of the magic stone called the Kaaba, great city of trade and the center of trade routes, was unsanitary, its children were sent to be raised in the desert by Bedouins. Mohammed was thus nurtured, drawing strength and health from the milk of nomad, vicarious mothers. He tended sheep and soon hired out to a rich widow as leader of her caravans. He traveled to all parts of the Eastern World, talked with many men of diverse beliefs and observed the decline of Christianity into warring sects. When he was twenty-eight, Khadija , the widow, looked upon him with favor, and married him. Her father would have objected to such a marriage, so she got him drunk and held him up while he gave the paternal blessing. For the next twelve years Mohammed lived as a rich and respected and very shrewd trader. Then he took to wandering in the desert, and one day he returned with the first verse of the QURAN and told Khadija that the archangel Gabriel had appeared to him and said that he was to be the Messenger of God.
“The Quran, the revealed word of God, was the closest thing to a miracle in Mohammed’s life. He had not been a poet; he had no gift of words. Yet the verses of the Koran, as he received them and recited them to the faithful, were better than any verses which the professional poets of the tribes could produce. This, to the Arabs, was a miracle. To them the gift of words was the greatest gift, the poet was all-powerful. In addition the Quarn said that all men were equal before God, that the world should be a democratic state Islam. It was this political heresy, plus Mohammed’s desire to destroy all the 360 idols in the courtyard of the Kaaba, which brought about his banishment. The idols brought the desert tribes to Mecca, and that meant trade. So the business men of Mecca, the capitalists, of which he had been one, set upon Mohammed. Then he retreated to the desert and demanded sovereignty over the world.
“The rise of Islam began. Out of the desert came aflame which would not be extinguished-a democratic army fighting as a unit and prepared to die without wincing. Mohammed had invited the Jews and Christians to join him; for he was not building a new religion. He was calling all who believed in one God to join in a single faith. If the Jews and Christians had accepted his invitation Islam would have conquered the world. They didn’t. They would not even accept Mohammed’s innovation of humane warfare. When the armies of the prophet entered Jerusalem not a single person was killed because of his faith. When the crusaders entered the city, centuries later, not a Moslem man, woman, or child was spared. But the Christians did accept one Moslem idea the place of learning, the university.”
