I took some trips yesterday on bolt and indrive in Ibadan, now I understand why drivers in those states renegotiate prices all the time with their riders, cos wdym trips of #1500, 3k, bolt prices are even worse..

Anyone driving in Ibadan should give tips on how to make money here, ejo, I dont want to have to travel down to lagos all the time to make money..

bolt is horrible in ibadan. prices are real bad especially if you don't drive a yaris or those tiny engine cars. I don't use it unless I just finished a good ride and I need to leave the area

indrive is your best bet but fastest fingers are the issue. and these people are accepting as fast as possible so they can call their own price.

best you can do is find people that live near you and offer them offline trips next time they want to go out. That's how I usually survive. some people even ask about interstate trips(to Lagos) but I don't do that.


or you negotiate after accepting like people do. but you risk a ban

all in all Saturdays and sundays are the best sha

unless the marketing you're talking about is 20% promo for all their riders which means they're not making money, I'm not sure how else marketing will.

My problem with some of drivers is their own appearance and looks of their vehicle. They don't care or don't value themselves or aesthetics. My car is well pimped, AC running smoothly, I dress well. This already gives me an edge in areas of getting juicy offline trips, negotiating or even getting tips( I don't demand, I too get steeze to demand). Because of the composure and presentation, I already got a business contract from a rider , surprisingly from a female, a gender that stresses us so much on this job. Indeed who go help you no go stress you, even when I turn on AC without her asking, she still wind down say she need fresh air, na there I suspect say na big lady, we no blow AC till we reach Parkview, Ikoyi. But those who don't have AC at home would nearly fight you if them hear say your AC stopped working or not cooling enough. So back to the matter, this was my dashboard for yesterday alone, worked from 6am till 5pm. I did 72k net on Bolt, 12k tips, 15k offline. Started with a full tank but the arrow never too pass F. On Indrive, I prefer it more on some occasions especially on the mainland like Ago, Yaba, Surulere, Ajao Estate, Ikeja. Just sabi position and you go enjoy them especially when there's surge(yes Indrive dey get their own surge). Both the beauty of Bolt is their surge too, the prices are killing lol, that's why most driver's get their Bolt app activated during ember months, their downsides is that they are cunny especially on the location you're going and the time to pick up. My own advice is do what works for you. On this CNG, I am observing, everyone wants to keep operating costs low, but I am a bit skeptical. I no wan risk my baby(Camry Muscle) but I want to buy a smaller car to test run with it. I mean going by the price of CNG, for guys like me, the least a day is going to be 90k net. So my final advice is for guys to start looking clean, no matter your problems, don't look it. Take care of your cars too. I just tried to talk to some Uber guys one day that I didn't go home and decided to do small night work, at that Enyo side close to the AP filling station that sells overnight, some guys looked like they never chop for 2 days, some were bathing outside by their car (this was my first time seeing this). Pls guys let's take care of ourselves and health. Don't let people look down on you coz you're doing Uber work, present yourself well, if you're serious about this work, your earnings already put you above 80% of Nigerians working, your problem would now be your lifestyle, habits and saving culture. I mandate myself to save 50k a day any day I come out and I have never missed since I started except I no work that day or I go for other runs. So that savings culture is a must, if not the day your car pack up, you go beg tire and people are not obligated to help you or share in your problems. Ire o. Just this morning, I don carry person go Airport from Isheri Osun, he paid 20k. I had to go from Ago to pick him up, driving time of 14mins, and ride time of 26mi s, that's not a bad deal for a start today. May God help us all o. Ire o.

Here is the earnings of January and February of my brother, though he works 3, 4 to 5 days a week due to car maintenance. He works 12 to 14hrs any day he choose to work. During the 2 months he bought fuel at 730 per litre and he bought 45k fuel each day.
My first question is, as a driver who works 12 to 14 hours how much is he suppose to net after removing fuel money at the end of the day.
For those who didn’t see my first post concerning my brother earning on bolt, he drives 2006 4plug big daddy.

we can't tell the issue from this as we don't know how many km he drives.

since bolt price is usually uniform unlike indrive

it's likely he is going too far to pickup per ride(big problem especially when doing many short trips as it adds up)

or his car is consuming too much fuel

he would have to outline how a day goes for anyone to have any specific advice

just complete trips and eventually your last 100 trips will be completed trips and then 100% wether they rate you or not

Then I guess you go to ungodly places just to maintain a high Driver Score.
Cos u can't tell me u know location of all d streets in Lagos. The moment u accept a trip, then check d location of d destination on Google maps and decide cancel, ur score drops. If u do that 20 times a day ur score goes down from 100 to 80.
If u do 10 trips in a day maybe 5 will remember to rate u on their own. Assuming they all rate u above 4stars ur score will rise to 85. Simply speaking ur score can go down by 10 points in 1 day. Except u are attempting to complete every trip u accept.

One d other hand if u say u only complete trips which u already know or are familiar with, it means u will reject a whole lot of trips and ur Acceptance Rate will be close to zero.

The sure way to select trips and still maintain a high Driver Score is to ensure all d trips u eventually complete are rated. That's my advise.

Next week God willing, I'll run a full tank taking 'ok to dumb' trips, let me see how it goes, I'll share the results here.... So that everybody will see whether 'always busy' is better than selective busy.


One thing we should bear in mind is, is not only fuel money you should be concerned about, whatever you end the day with as profit, you should factor in maintenance..... Being busy throughout the day taking 'ok' trips is just more wear and tear on ur parts, God help you if you live in the mainland with far more terrible roads... You'll be just one trip to the mechanic to be back to ground zero. Let's not twist it up, of course you'll make 'profit' by taking ok to mediocre trips, but you'll be running ur business into the ground slowly, seeing only today without looking at tomorrow is a trap... You gotta make enough profit to cushion for expensive repairs which will INEVITABLY come in this line of work, many are forced to borrow. My opinion is, only take 'ok' trips when you need to leave a dead area(like vi). The trip below is heartbreaking, how bad things have got, last year, this same trip will be nothing short of 14k, but today look... May God help us, so does this fall under 'ok' trips or? Where is the line.?

You connect a lan cable from another router that is working and has internet to the airtel box via the usb to lan connected to the airtelbox usb, and also dont put sim in the airtel box. ,

also u can disable the dhcp server from the router dashboard

Finally moved to ODU device. 10% better because Airtel network in my area is poor.

To make the Android TV box useful, I got USB to LAN adapter (attached) as an ethernet connection to the ODU. So life continues.

I'm just marvelling at the distance ni, most of the indrive dashboards I've seen posted here do a little under 100km daily averagely so the 200km was just surprising

Please Abuja Drivers, this is my earning for today Sunday, started 7am and close 7pm.
I increased all fares for rides showing here, still per KM isn't even up to 300 naira.
If I was just accepting what passengers put, that means it will not reach 200 naira per KM.

Passengers are really reducing the recommended fare very well.

you're more likely to find rides on bolt but the naira per km is like 280

uber the rides are not plenty but fare is like 400 per km. I only pick it when the pickup distance is near me

Yes, the Lagos factor. And e get areas in Lagos too Sha.

However, even in that abj, you need to learn the modules t maximize profits.

If your pick up is usually longer than 1.9km. say 3-5km. Theres no way you'll not net low.

And avoid driving around empty looking for orders, that's another way of reducing income.
When driving, do not overspeed so that you can avoid heavy breaks that alone can drain all your fuel.
There are lots Sha, but try look into the few highlights

Boss, Ibadan is generally like that for business.

In Lagos, I use the same toyota matrix. With 10k fuel, I should make 20k net.

The things is, target residential areas in the morning, and buzzing centers during the day. Ventura in Samonda, heritage in dugbe, ShopRite in ring road etc.
