This word Graduate is probably misused and making so many people redundant and lazy in the name of being a graduate. Getting University degree does not really make you different from other people in terms of what you have to do to make money, it is only supposed to make you find a smarter way to do things probably different from the way someone who didn't go to university is doing it. You people should stop stressing the word Graduate when someone is doing something in a smarter way especially those jobs some Ignorant graduates will term beneath them. Nigeria is a developing country which even our Idiotic Leaders swear they will turn to underdeveloped country. Graduate, find something, anything at all, look for a smarter way to do it and earn your money. The Ignorant who is looking for a job under an air conditioner because he is a graduate will continue turning around in 100k per month jobs for decades while you will already be making millions weekly after a few years

I don't want to beleive this but the APC and yahaya bellow should know that recycling the power withing one territory is repeating the same politics of bitterness the Igala played.
Secondly yahaya bello should know that the igbiras are not overwhelming the majority in kogi, he needs friends.
It would be sellable if he had zoned to the kaaba people of kogi while retaining the support of the igbiras people would be more appealing in the state.
The igbiras are not the strongest in kogi and it would be wrong not having friends.
Igala people go cry tire. They have been claiming say na dem get Kogi Gov seat because of number. This time they will learn that in APC Government there is nothing like number. Kolo Kolo eye they will rig the election install the 2nd Igbira Kogi state Governor

The Obvious thing is that it is US Court that convicted the Dangerous Criminal President Select not Nigerian Court. The constitution says if you have not been convicted by Nigerian Court so the Criminal knows any way you want it he will scale through. Obi and his crew should concentrate on bringing facts from the election day. This drug case can't fly in Nigerian Court seriously.

Bigcoconut:
Hello, guys
I don't want to bore you guys with long epistle. Yes, as the title suggests.

I travelled to Canada through the study route this January but I can tell you for a fact that I'm already bored with this place.

I'm redoing a 2 year program that I have already concluded in Naija but just because I want japa, I redid it. But that's not the issue.

The issue is that I'm working in a company but the department I was posted to was a physical demanding one..

To the extent that if I work for a day, I feel pain all over my body for a week. And this is seriously affecting my education because anytime i go to work, i wouldn't have the energy to do anything again as i would be so weak. but i have to work because i have bills to pay.

Nobody send you for here except you want sleep for cold outside.

Even half of my salary goes in the form of settling bills.

The work makes me depressed. This is not what I bargained for. .

For me to raise money for my tuition fees and travel expenses, at least I wasn't doing bad in Nigeria before i left. In addition, I hardly have time for myself.

My situation is even better, most of people who we came same time haven't found jobs yet.

My thinking is if I should ask for refund of my remaining tuition fee and relocate back Naija, or go back Naija and take some courses online, as there seems to be an option for that.
The people that really notices the difference in Nigeria and abroad are people from a struggling family, who will reach abroad and wouldn't even mind doing 3 jobs at a time because they are just grateful for just easily finding any job at all. The comfortable upper middle class family find it hard to adjust because they are not really suffering in Nigeria, they just want to belong to Japa bandwagon but on reaching abroad they all realise they had been enjoying full time in Nigeria

It is only an ignorants like you that doesn't know what true development is. Scrapping few roads here and there and pouring asphalt on it, building white elephant projects to retire public funds is not development. This is what the Notherners has been doing since independence they were ruling Nigeria without developing their people and reason the Northern population still lags behind in all indices of Human capital development after been in power for long. Ebonyi state has the lowest indices in human capital development in Igboland dragging illiteracy with North reason any Igbo man you see hawking things on the whole city in Nigeria and doing the most menial jobs are mostly Ebonyians. What has Umahi done to ensure in the next 15 to 20 years this story will change, nothing except doing white elephant projects to retire public money to himself, family and friends while poverty spreads among the masses. Hello all, I need to know if I'm doing some things right or over reacting.

My wife and I just married some months ago and we just spend here and there on stuffs. I bought food stuffs in the house and told her I will place her on 40k monthly to cover for soups and all and I expect her to add to it if it's not enough.

I foot all bills- house rent, Power, and all . She earns a decent 6 figures salary also which is slightly higher than mine without the allowances I get.

She expects me to still give her another allowance apart from the 49k I give her for food.

Each time she buys stuff in the house she always want me to pay back in full; most times, I just pay a part of it which she always frowns and complains about.

It appears she has a notion that her money is her money and mine is ours.

My income is more than hers though.

Do you think I should still give her personal pocket money?

Religion / Re: If You End Up In Hell Fire, Who Would You Blame? by Ferdinandu(m): 9:32am On Apr 02, 2023
Young man there is nothing like hell fire. Before you were born, where were you? In oblivion. Same way when you die you are in oblivion. Your religion will tell you following their tenets is way to avoid hell fire automatically anyone who is not a believer is going to your hell fire. Meaning at least 80% of world population at any given time is going to your hell fire There are 8 billion people on this planet now so 6 billion to hell fire. Young man all those information they fed you since you were born is what is controlling your life not any hell fire. Information is used to control people's life whether wrong or right
jesusjnr2020:
If You End Up In Hell Fire, Who Would You Blame?

Humans generally have the tendency to apportion blame to others for their own mistakes.

Instead of taking responsibility for them, they were quick to find someone else to blame.

Some are quick to even blame the devil when caught in the act, even though the devil cannot force them to do anything without their own consent.

This tendency, they seemed to have inherited from their foremost ancestors, Adam and Eve, who after eating the forbidden fruit which God commanded them not to eat were blaming someone else for their own error, with Adam blaming "the woman" while Eve "the woman" blamed "the serpent"... Genesis 3:12-13

So sadly it seems humans have not yet learnt from the errors of the first humans on earth, as they're still playing the blame game up til date, so they were bound to continue repeating the same mistakes they made instead of repenting from them, which however comes with serious eternal consequences, for "the wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23

Hence the question, who would you blame if you end up in hell fire?

As for me, I would only have myself to blame because if after God has done everything thing He could to ensure I don't end up in hell fire but have eternal life, I still managed to end up there for whatever possible reason I could conjure, it could only be my own fault and no one else, because no one, not even the devil, could force me to reject life and choose death without my consent.

God bless.

2 million is more than 2yrs salary of a graduate employee in a typical federal ministry or average parastatal. Why are people so uninspired, naive, unmotivated in this damn country. Y'all sounding like Nigeria is a balanced country where you can plan well. Here companies sack anyhow, companies owe you, businesses fail, people get defrauded, people have health issues that take their finances. That is why people are willing to do anything to get a government job that will give them security. How many government jobs are available?
See don't blame people. You never know what shoes they are in. And if you were, you may not be able to do better. If you can help, help. If you can't help yourself alone. But don't go to church claiming to be a christian when you believe giving charity is promoting entitlement mentality.
Did I ever said it is bad to help someone. Didn't you see where I said for the generation that are still not yet old. That is problem with Nigerians, most peoples problem arise because they are always emotional about every damn thing, they are quick to blackmail you with religion and God. My friend most people are helpless in old age because they never have a damn plan for their old age except children. There is different between seriously planning by yourself and failing and putting your plans on another human in the name of children. Nigeria is a horrible place to plan we understand but you still need to. Children must look after their parents at old age but the more most people are educated to take hold of their old age for themselves the better for everyone. Even in Advanced countries sometimes calamities do come and wipe out your plans. Your sister is self centered I understand but I am saying this for you now not your parents that has passed the stage I'm talking about
Family / Re: Why I Chose To Distance Myself From A Sibling by Ferdinandu(m): 7:12am On Apr 01, 2023
CosmicDust:
Here is my story....

I have a 3 siblings and I am at odds with my eldest who is a lady. The way it is, I may never have a conversation with her again.

She was the first person to be invested in by my parents after which I came. Luckily enough, she was able to strike gold in her career and do well for herself. She went abroad for her masters with my parents supporting with half-payment. Unfortunately, whenever it came to family demands and helping the other younger siblings, she has either been negligent or grudgingly does so.

Few years after going abroad, she decided to lockup and sends only 40k home which is supposed to cater for food for a month.
Now parents are retired, the whole family weight falls on my following sibling and I. The youngest one education is on me. Happy she will finish soon. Parents need to be supported in challenging times, one is coping with diabetes and the other is with some challenging issues I can't say here. Their savings are being sapped by their needs to keep living on.

But my so-called elder sister based in Canada despite knowing their condition is silent. She still sends her peanuts, while I and my younger brother who is an upcoming fashion designer do 2X what she does. This aches our parents and sometimes makes our mother cry and our father rant with regret.

A time now came, our mum got admitted in the hospital. Condition was so salient that she had to be hospitalized for weeks. Hospital bill was 450k. The Canada-based first born doing a good job, who was always talking to her, praying with her on phone, etc only sent 100k. We the others did the rest. Glad mum is back at home but her heart is broken and has refused to talk with her. She's been in Canada for 5 years and has refused to even support any of her siblings to come abroad too.

My other siblings say because we all refuse to be dictated to by her is the reason for her behaviour. I don't care. Mine is that if you know that you are going to be useless to a family, let your parents know before hand so the money used in training/feeding you can be used for farming business which will despite bad weather bring returns than on a child who feels is not obligated to support the parents who supported you all through.
Till Nigerians learns the era of Children been retirement plan is gone. I am saying it for my Generation just coming up, let your retirement plan be as paramount as training your children. Instead of putting them in 200k school, put them in 100k school and push the rest to your retirement plan. If you can find way reduce your current house rent, try nib at some of your current expenses and push the bits to your retirement plan to avoid this kind of story. Most children can hardly yet afford their basic needs before the load of aged parents comes in leading to this kind of scenario. The more self centered of the children will just lock up, the one that have a larger heart will carry all the load which is more likely going to hurt his own plan for his future. CHILDREN ARE NO LONGER RETIREMENT PLAN. Old age without retirement plan is a long odious journey. PLAN NOW

Family / Re: Should I Allow My Mother-in-law In Our Home? I Need Advice by Ferdinandu(m): 8:13pm On Mar 29, 2023
ozalogbo:
I am the first child of my mother, and I have two younger male siblings. I am doing well financially. My wife is the last of four children in her family. My dad died when I was still in the university, and this affected my mum.

However, as she aged, her health waned. She was a retired teacher. My brothers are not in the country. Both of them are in Europe. I wanted to have my mother stay with me in her later years because of her health and loneliness but my wife did not want it.

Whenever she was ill and I brought her home to be with us, my wife was usually hostile, especially if my mum had stayed beyond a week. She did not hid her disapproval, and this caused problems in the marriage. People advised that I should send my mum away and pay someone to live with her and take care of her. They said that marriage was between a man and his wife, not between a man, his wife, and his mother. I did and peace returned. Eventually my mum passed on after a few years.

Along the line, my father in law also died. And down the line, my mother in law's health began to deteriorate. We live in the same town. Among my wife's siblings she is the only one doing quite well. Now there are suggestions that the mother should come and live with us so that my wife can give her proper care. I believe that her living with us and seeing her grandchildren will help her. And indeed i have no problem accepting her, but when i remember the treatment my wife gave to my mum, there is a strong revulsion, in fact, anger in me. I shared with a friend, and he advised i forgive my wife, but the revulsion is so strong that i would feel cheated if i agreed.

What do you guys think. She reminded me then that marriage was between a man and his wife only. Shouldn't this also apply to my wife now?
You are just a Sisi. The time you would have stood your ground, you didn't, now you want to stand your ground on revenge, no. No old parent should be abandoned to die lonely, this is our African tradition. You allow your wife to have her way instead of you to call her bluff and give her ultimatum in the marriage. Don't allow the remaining old woman to suffer because you are the cause of the first incident
