Hi guys! i just checked my admission status(just for checking sake )i discovered the referee colum has been updated "No Response" ;is it that my referees did not reply PG's email/call or text as the case maybe or its just an oversight ? And also nothing indicates receipt of transcript . Please everyone is this the case too when you check your status? your replies no doubt will put my thinking in the right direction .THANKSSS

I learnt they aren't sending messages to d referees, because they said dir responses aren't always reliable, afterall we all chose those that will write good things about us. As for me, none of my referee was contacted, but the PG coordinator for my proposed program, contacted someone that knows me, told him my score in d entrance examn, asked some questions about my transcript and made some enquiry about my character, which the person later told me. That is for my proposed program anyway, the procedure may be different in another dept. As for the transcript, I went to the SPGS to trace it, because I forgot to write my application number on d envelop. So, when I found it, I placed it in the right office.

But. choosing 10 out of 1000 applicants ? That's wickedness of the highest order.

Yes o. We were more than a thousand, and they wanna choose 10. They asked questions from all aspects of my course, ranging from 100L to 500L

Sorry, had to rest and take mind off d test o jareeee.

To sit for the exam, they ask of 3 things.
1) The evidence of payment, the bank Teller and somw collect cash from venue..... Like that's the most important to them seff.
2) Your identity card... Any ID, voter's card, drivers license or office ID. All were accepted.
3) The print out of your app form. Black n white yaff do ooh, buh am not stopping you from printing coloured.
4) CARRY GOD JOIN BODY!

They started this common entrance thing or what should I call it just last year for all departments.
So, its just a year PQ available for all concerned dept. Either Nursing oooh, or Doctor'ing'

Residual Knowledge apart, the only one set PQ can be of great help if you can lay your hands on it before the exam...

I just remembered MSc nursing in ABU has just 2 sets, and the first set did only oral interview, which means they have just one past question. I will have to rely on my residual knowledgeknowledge niyen

Praying for Allah's favour. Did my best.

Lesson Learnt:
1) U have to pay the stated amount for your dept. It's better u do it before the date o the exam. Some dept actually collected cash at d exam venue. Buh don't depend on that 'my advice'.

2) Be sure of you venue, like my dept, Electrical have different option with different venue respectively..... some candidates won't of ignorance wrote @ wrong venue n auto disqualified. Be warned.

3) be in the school early. Maybe a day to, an look for PG intake PQ, for those dat have this for today's exam. They gave their testimony.... So, learn from my mistakes.
Note : the PQ is not readily available..... or like it's not just flying around... just get it, anyhow!

4) it's all OBJ, 30 questions.
Am talking abt my own department oooh!

5) it's actually undergrads questions.
Just read thru your courses. They focus more on the option we applied for.

6) pray, Prepare well, buh not too much. Then pray again.

7) Do your best, and I wish u flying success.

I wish you all the best. This info will be of great help. I'm going there tomorrow, so I can pay d 5k on Friday, and try to locate the venue, and get d PQ if possible. I pray we all get admitted for our progs. I can't read without the PQ, so as to avoid wasting my time on reading irrelevances as the syllabus is too voluminous. All the best ones again Harzan.

Please you guys that were invited for the test, did you get the message through mail or text message? Because nothing has shown here o.

I got mine through mail. They may still send a msg to you, because the form just closed 12mn. You can only get worried if u don't get an invite by 15/12, cos I learnt PG school want all exams done on or before 15/12. Also, your dept may nt conduct a test. If you have someone in ABU, the person can help you ask from the dept. You can check for someone in the undergraduate thread, they are still in school.

I've been looking for a thread like this [I even had to create one], since I got the invite for the test on 15/12 from the Dept of Theatre Arts; exam fee is 6k.
This is very surprising considering that nothing about a general qualifying exam was mentioned all through the application process except for one or two courses.
However, the text msg is silent on what I'm required to take to the exam except the fee, date, venue, time and the importance of the test to securing the admission.
Well, I pray that all the mystery will be revealed, once those who write tomorrow let us benefit from their experience.
There is a serious lack of information from ABU about this. I pray for everyone's success.

so, your own exam fee is 6k, when all others are to pay 5k. It's OK. We shall see when we get there. My own message didn't even include bringing writing materials, so I thought it may be CBT. But let's wait and hear from those that are writing today.

I applied for MSc Electrical Engineering. And I also got the text for the exam invite.




Hamid, mine is on the 9th.
I learnt it gonna b basic exams, more of early undergraduate notes as u've stated. Buh my brother, none is cheap. As person mind don go far from ELE 101 - 509.
I can't even lay my hands on any undergraduate textbook as I couldn't even find my notes anywhere.

Would just do my best and pray for His favour.

This test thing don tire me sef. I Have been trying to review my first and second year notes... I think the best way in this kind of situation is to find someone who has gone through the same process before. Such person will be in the right position to tell you the areas of concentration.

All is well sha. Just do your best and leave the rest to God.

I don't know of anybody that has written the test before. I believe my residual knowledge will help

They may still send it to you, as the form will close officially today. BTW, the test depends on each department, some departments don't write test, while some do.

I will advise you to go through your Under-G notes with more emphasize on First and second year course work.

I also got a mail to come for a test on Saturday. I applied for MSc nursing science, is it going to be test of English only or there will be professional questions as well
