When I got to ABU, I went straight to SPGS auditorium for my admission letter, from there to my faculty for screening, then to my dept for another screening, went back to SPGS, collected tellers in an office labelled security room downstairs , then went up to room B20 to pay d 11800, then to room B10 to drop blue copies of the tellers, and was given 5 book(which I haven't checked) and the acceptance form, waited for 2hours for my details to be uploaded, then straight to cafe to print out school fees details (I didn't go with cash, so had to locate d bank I'm using inside town to withdraw money), so I went back to ABU microfinance bank for d payment, then they asked me to go to a room to still update my details, after that, I went back to the cafe to upload my biodata, (the cafe lady printed a lot of things for me, which I haven't checked, but I'm sure they are mine), then went back to d dept to verify courses to register for, and I was told d PG coordinator DT will do DT has travelled, and may be back on Wednesday, so I went back to d cafe to just register for some courses, so as to be able to log in for accommodation, when they open portal for it. So, I'm on my way to Kano now. Hope this my long story helps. To be continued on Wednesday. BTW, its more than stressful. But thank God I negotiated with a driver to pay him for full day immediately I entered ABU this mane, and it really helped.

Can this be real ? A colleague of mine who we both sat for the M.sc screening exam in dept of Mathematics is currently in Zaria, He said the school fees is 80k. Who can confirm this for me? Have been placing my benchmark on 120k ..
Is there anyone that can attest to this emerging fact?

Its true. Although I was asked to prepare 250k, but the amount I paid goes thus; At d SPGS, I paid #11,800 and #114,300 for the tuition fee and other charges. With total of #126,100. Excluding cafe charges anyway

My plan is to enter ABU by 1st of Feb to make registration and payments within that week.You and I know that Lagos to Zaria is too far to be going up and down. when u pay ur acceptance fee and other small charges, u will go to the students portal, use ur registration number( the one with P15--------) as user name, then ur state of origin as ur password, u will there update ur bio data, after which u will proceed to view the school fee page, u will create a transaction ID where ur fees will be displayed. print that page and take it to the staff cooperate bank at the main gate at samaru campus where u pay ur fees and ask them to activate it for you there. the fees should not be less than N113,000 if u are in the sciences.

I learnt one has to wait for some time after payment of acceptance fee before the portal is activated. Is that true? If the money isn't more that 113k, I will be so happy. Do u know if accommodation fee is inclusive?

yes if u are sharp u can do accept, clear and pay ur fees, and register ur course online in a day, the next things depends on how available your HOD, PG coordinator, faculty dean and supervisors are, because after your fees, u need to open a file in ur faculty, with ur pg coordinator, and with pg school, and before u open this file u must have photocopies of ur SIGNED course form along with other credentials, this signed course form is to be signed by ur pg coordinator, supervisors, hod, faculty dean, and dean of pg school. i would advice you to spend day one clearing and paying ur fees, then day 2 is for ur pg coordinator and course form and supervisors(depending on ur department as some dept do not assign supervisors until after ur 1st year). after that, send ur course form to the hod, if he can sign he same day fine, proceed to faculty dean, if hod ask u to return after somedays, then carry ur bag and go home, return before end of jan to complete the process.

When are you going for yours?

Heard people have started the registration, with several queues. Dunno how true that is anyway.

oohh thank God, we wr much too, but i cant say how many of us wr shortlisted, but for sure no one would be allowed to pay the fees without the transcript, i never wanted to rewuest for it because i wasnt sure of the admision, im now praying that my former sends it fast

hahahahahha well even in ur own dept many persons wr witout a transcript, i have not been to abu before hence i dont have any connection, but the admision was largely becos of God and the stuffs u have got upstairs

No one was offered admission without transcript in my dept. You are very lucky then. More than 1000 of us did the entrance examination ,and just 10 were selected, so there was no way candidates that haven't submitted their transcripts will be offered admission. It was very competitive

Well, its strange that you are shortlisted without your transcript. because one can't get shortlisted without submission of the transcript in my dept.Its either your dept is different OR maybe you have good connection that helped you.

Has your own admission status changed? Because many of us are still seeing pending on our admission status. Despite seeing our names on the admission list.

Mine is still showing pending as well. I guess the prob is with the SPGS. I even called the postgraduate coordinator of my dept few minutes ago, and he said I shd come for my admission letter this week, but I told him I can't do DT this week, but I will try to be there next week by God's grace. BTW, I hope one can finish the registration process within a week.

school fees mata na after feb 5, for think of the admision letter and other smal smal things, so just know that the school fees tns should be around the ending of feb and some days to folo

Are you sure of this? But why will they talk about 5k for late registration after 5th of Feb

I don't understand the admission status of Ahmadu bello university,I applied for PhD prog,notification has not been sent to my referees,I don't know my admission status,and was reading here that registration is on. can someone help me out?

No notification will be sent to your referree, check your admission status on the school website or ask someone to check it in the school for you. Good luck

Pls go, if its worth it. I got my new job in Kano few months ago, and everybody was scared at first. But all my family members are now happy that I didn't turn down d offer. In fact I just had admission in ABU Zaria, so I'm now a northerner in a way, and I'm really enjoying it. There are opportunities in the north, or where will you get a lecturing job in a federal university in the west with first degree(not as a graduate assistant o), and gaining admission for masters prog for a competitive program at first attempt? And the school is ready to sponsor me if I wish. Although, I'm nt applying for any sponsorship so they won't ask me to sign any bond with them. I want to be free to leave anytime I wish. Pray, be watchful, don't trespass and pray again. Good luck

My name was short listed and I got disappointed after a friend told me that NYSC discharge certificate is a must for screening process.
Currently I'm still serving, by 5th April 2016 we'll be issued NYSC discharge certificate.
Should I still proceed with registration? Need a comprehensive advice from you pls...

Go for the screening first, afterall you won't be able to do the registration if you are not cleared during screening. Your credentials will be checked during the screening exercise, and your credentials include the NYSC discharge certificate. Your details will be uploaded on the portal after screening, so you can proceed to do the registration. You may be lucky. Best of luck sha

You only have application no before examn, and the reg no is on the list for those admitted. No one got a text for the reg no.

The list is out for real. Its pasted on the PG Schl board. But ABU is so crude. Why can't they just send our results to us directly. All the best to us all, as i havent checked mine as well.
