Arnold Schwarzenegger was compelled to make a speedy recovery from his major heart operation last year so he could get back into shape for the filming of Terminator: Dark Fate.

The ageing action man and former Governor of California hit headlines last March after he reportedly suffered complications during a catheter valve replacement operation at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, prompting doctors to perform urgent open heart surgery.

However, the star is back fighting fit and returns to screens in the latest movie in the hit science fiction franchise – which he credits for his remarkable recovery.
The actor, 72, told Britain’s The Sun newspaper of the surgery: “It was kind of a surprise.”

In 2016, Kanye West dragged us through what may have been the most chaotic album rollout in history. The Life of Pablo underwent multiple title changes, moving from "So Help Me God" to "SWISH" and then "Waves" before settling.

Multiple iterations of the tracklist were shared on Kanye's Twitter, altering every time another artist passed through the revolving-door studio. The album's release was delayed, too. It was originally slated to drop on February 11, but only appeared on TIDAL three days later after Kanye's SNL performance. Even after it finally arrived, Kanye continued tweaking the songs and forcefully swapping the contents of listeners' music libraries.

Victor Moses is in line to play his first pre- season game when Chelsea tackle Inter Milan on Saturday evening, with new manager Maurizio Sarri including the Nigeria international on the roster.

XXXTentacion’s team has released the posthumous video for the rapper’s hit song “SAD!,” which skyrocketed to No. 1 after his murder last week. (He became the first solo artist to get a posthumous No. 1 since Biggie.)

In the video (which X wrote the script for) he is seen attending his own funeral, fighting his resurrected dead body, and “killing” his old self, according to the captions throughout. “You have done well at battling yourself,” it ends, showing handwritten notes in which he claims to be changing for the better.

X was accused of domestic violence and was awaiting trial for those charges at the time of his death. The nature of the video has led some fans to once again believe his death was a stunt and the rapper may still be alive. However, on Wednesday, his public open-casket memorial service was held in Florida. One man has been arrested in connection with his murder; federal investigators are searching for two other suspects.

Joseph Jackson, the strong, fearsome patriarch of the musical Jackson family, has died, according to a person close to the family.

The person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the person was not allowed to discuss the topic publicly, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Jackson died but had no additional information. He was 89.

Jackson was a guitarist who put his own musical ambitions aside to work in the steel mills to support his wife and nine children in Gary, Indiana. But he far surpassed his own dreams through his children, particularly his exceptionally gifted seventh child, Michael. Fronted by the then-pint-sized wonder and brothers Jermaine, Marlon, Tito and Jackie, the Jackson 5 was an instant sensation in 1969 and became the first phase of superstardom for the Jackson family. Over the following decades, millions would listen to both group and solo recordings by the Jackson 5 (who later became known as The Jacksons) and Michael would become one of the most popular entertainers in history.

Michael Jackson’s estate released a statement mourning the death.

“We are deeply saddened by Mr. Jackson’s passing and extend our heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Katherine Jackson and the family. Joe was a strong man who acknowledged his own imperfections and heroically delivered his sons and daughters from the steel mills of Gary, Indiana to worldwide pop superstardom,” said John Branca and John McClain, co-executors of the estate.
“Papa Joe,” as he would become known, ruled through his stern, intimidating and unflinching presence, which became so indelible it was part of black popular culture, even referenced in song and on TV.

Michael and other siblings would allege physical abuse at their father’s hands.


“We’d perform for him and he’d critique us. If you messed up, you got hit, sometimes with a belt, sometimes with a switch. My father was really strict with us — really strict,” Michael Jackson wrote in his 1985 autobiography “Moonwalk.”

LaToya Jackson would go as far as to accuse him of sexual abuse in the early 1990s, when she was estranged from her entire family, but she later recanted, saying her former husband had coerced her to make such claims. She and her father later reconciled.

By the time they were adults, most of the Jackson siblings had dismissed him as their manager; Michael and Joseph’s relationship was famously fractured; Michael Jackson revered his mother Katherine but kept his distance from Joseph.

However, during some of his son’s most difficult times, including his 2004 molestation trial, Joseph was by his side, and Michael acknowledged their complicated relationship in a 2001 speech about healthy relationships between parents and their children:

In his autobiography, Joseph Jackson acknowledged having been a stern parent, saying he believed it was the only way to prepare his children for the tough world of show business. However, he always denied physically abusing his children.

Joseph Walter Jackson was born in Fountain Hill, Arkansas, on July 26, 1929, the eldest of four children. His father, Samuel Jackson, was a high school teacher, and his mother, Crystal Lee King, was a housewife.


The couple split up when Jackson was 12. He moved with his father to Oakland, Calif., while his mother moved to East Chicago, Indiana. When he turned 18, he moved to Indiana to live near his mother. It was there that he met and married Katherine Scruse.

In the 1950s, he had tried to launch his own music career as a guitarist, but he came to realize the truly gifted musicians in his family were his children.

He launched a group in 1962 that featured his three eldest sons — Jackie, Tito and Jermaine — and two neighbors. He eventually replaced the neighbors with brothers Michael and Marlon, and the Jackson Five went professional in 1966. By 1969, they had signed to Motown, when their bubble gum soul-pop hybrid would create Beatle-like mania, with hits including “I Want You Back,” ”ABC” and “I’ll Be There.”

Michael, who joined the group at age 8, was its showstopper from the beginning. A bright-eyed bundle of energy with a soaring voice and dynamic dance moves, he quickly became the lead singer.

Joe Jackson literally drove his kids to success, taking them around the country looking for singing engagements and recording opportunities.

Randy, the youngest Jackson brother, replaced Jermaine in the mid-1970s when the group left Motown and became The Jacksons at CBS; Jermaine, then married to founder Berry Gordy’s daughter Hazel, stayed behind and launched a solo career.

While Michael’s success as a solo performer would eventually dwarf that of the rest of his family, Janet would become another multiplatinum superstar; Joe Jackson initially managed her career too, putting her in the Jacksons’ variety show in the early 1970s, where she charmed with her Mae West routine, and shepherding her acting career on shows like “Good Times.” But after she put out “Control,” her breakthrough album at 19, soon after, she too would sever managerial ties with her father.

In a 2003 interview with Martin Bashir, Michael Jackson teared up when discussing the alleged abuse, saying he would sometimes vomit or faint at the sight of his father because he was so scared of him.

“We were terrified of him. Terrified, I can’t tell you I don’t think to this day he realizes how scared, scared,” said Jackson, who added that his father would only allow him to call him by his first name, not “daddy.”

The alleged abuse was not just physical. Michael Jackson, who drastically changed his face with plastic surgery through the years, talked several times about how his father would mock the size of his once-broad nose, calling him “big nose.”

After Michael’s death, Joseph Jackson sued when it was disclosed that he was not included in Michael’s will. Michael’s mother Katherine, was given custody of Michael’s three children and the money to support them. But none of the siblings were named as heirs.

Father and son seemed to have reconciled for a time when Michael Jackson was on trial on child molestation charges. His father was in court to lend him support nearly every day, and Michael was acquitted of all counts in 2005. But he left the country and when he returned, they were not close.

Toward the end of his life, Michael did not allow his father to visit his Holmby Hills home. Bodyguards said they turned away Joseph Jackson when he appeared at the gate wanting to visit his grandchildren.

By 2005, no longer involved in his children’s careers, Joseph Jackson had launched a boot camp for aspiring hip-hop artists, promoting lyrics without vulgarity and sponsoring competitions for young artists from across the country. He spent most of his time at a home in Las Vegas and traveled the country auditioning talent for the competition.

For many years before that, he and his wife had lived in an estate they built in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley where he had hoped his children would remain with him at least until they were married and perhaps even afterward. But there were estrangements, and Jackson, a dandy who wore a pencil-thin mustache and huge diamond pinky ring, but faced allegations by his wife of infidelity.(AP Style 1) She filed for divorce twice but never followed through.

“We just let our troubles die out,” Jackson said in 1988, following a reconciliation. “We survived. We love each other, and we have children. That’s why we’re together.”

When Dr. Conrad Murray went on trial in 2010, charged in Michael’s overdose death from propofol, Joseph and Katherine attended court with several of Michael’s siblings. Murray’s conviction of involuntary manslaughter provided some measure of comfort for the family.

Joe Jackson is survived by his wife, his children and more than two dozen grandchildren.

XXXTentacion’s broad daylight slaying on Monday afternoon in Florida cut short his efforts to turn his life around as he faced domestic violence allegations against a pregnant woman, his attorney tells PEOPLE.

“He had problems, like many young people do, and was getting through them and for the past eight months had been absolutely perfect,” lawyer J. David Bogenschutz claims.

XXXTentacion, a 20-year-old Florida native born Jahseh Onfroy, had in his few years in the spotlight achieved national success as a rapper, including a No. 1 album in the spring.

But his recurring rage — both documented and alleged — marred his brief career, leading to multiple run-ins with the law.
Video from a concert in October showed XXXTentacion hitting a fan with a microphone, which he later said was in self-defense, according to Vulture. Earlier in 2017, according to Pitchfork, he pleaded no-contest to charges of robbery and armed home invasion — for which he was serving six years’ probation — and as of this week was still facing prosecution in connection with his alleged abuse of a pregnant woman

Charges in that case included aggravated battery on a pregnant victim, domestic battery by strangulation and false imprisonment, and prosecutors suspected he had tried to get the victim to stop cooperating with authorities.

XXXTentacion did not shy away from discussing the violence in his life, once reportedly saying, “I’ve been fighting since I was a kid.”

Appearing on the hip-hop podcast No Jumper in 2016, he recounted in detail how he attacked and strangled a gay cellmate (whom he referred to with a homophobic slur) while they were in juvenile detention, the Miami New Times and Vulture report. During that same interview, he described a tumultuous upbringing, according to the Washington Post.

“My mom just had it hard,” he said. “Raising a kid was her last priority, so what she did, she passed me from hand to hand to people that could care for me. During that, I wasn’t put in situations that were the best.”

Bogenschutz’s claims XXXTentacion had transformed himself in recent months, becoming friendlier, more respectful and more interested in his music.

No fewer than 100 students of Idogbo Secondary School, Benin, have been trafficked to Libya in the last four months.
This was disclosed in Benin on Sunday during an advocacy programme by the Senior Special Assistant to Gov Godwin Obaseki on Human trafficking and illegal migration, Mr Solomon Okoduwa.
Okoduwa said this fact was disclosed to him by some teachers in the school, concerned about how the institution has become the harvesting ground for traffickers.

Okoduwa said government will not allow the evil to continue to thrive in the state.
Government will step up its campaign against trafficking, he said, and the state Task Force Against Human Trafficking will be on the trail of the human traffickers.
He warned the students to be wary of the antics of the traffickers who are bent on deceiving them into embarking on the dangerous journey.
“Henceforth, report anyone who tells you to travel to Europe. They are simply taking you through Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Sea and you may eventually end up in Libya.
“The number of students that have been trafficked from your school in this short period is overwhelming.
“The truth is that many of them might have been imprisoned there or facing one challenge or the other.
“Taking the route of Sahara Desert and other illegal routes is hellish.
“Many died of hunger, many were drowned in the Mediterranean Sea in search of greener pastures.
“Worst still, the families of those people that died on their journey were made to pay for the travel expenses, when unknown to them their loved ones have gone to the great beyond.
“If anyone tells you to travel abroad through Libya, tell him or her capital ‘NO’. If you must travel for any reason, travel the right way.”

NAN reports that the state government had received no fewer than 3,400 Libya returnees within the last six months.

Film producer, director and screenwriter Ryan Coogler has disclosed that he is more than ready to make a female Black Panther spinoff movie with Lupita Nyong’o ain the lead role.
From a budget of 200 million dollars availed to him by the Marvel Studios, the 31-year-old American produced a 95 per cent cast black super hero movie Black Panther which now sits at position 9 among the highest grossing film of all time.

Since the movie’s release on January 29, 2018 the film is reported to have made over $1 billion as of March 18, 2018.

At 36 and with a successful self-made career behind her, few doubt that the television star and humanitarian activist will be a worthwhile addition to the cast of the monarchy.
Markle made her name as savvy paralegal Rachel Zane in the US legal drama series "Suits", but cultivated a high profile for herself outside the show too.
She became a United Nations advocate for women's empowerment and a global ambassador for the World Vision Canada relief agency.
The Los Angeles-born star had more than two million followers on her now-closed Instagram account and ran a successful lifestyle blog, The Tig.
Markle was also revealed as the anonymous blogger behind The Working Actress, which chronicled the struggles of hustling for parts in Hollywood.
"She comes across as very poised, eloquent, thoughtful," said royal writer Andrew Morton, who has penned a biography of Markle.
"She's very focused and someone who has been very ambitious and really wants to give back. Her great phrase is 'make the change'," he told AFP.

'Suits' springboard
Returning to Los Angeles, in 2004 she fell in love with go-getting film producer Trevor Engelson, who helped her get on the acting ladder as she struggled for bit parts.

They married in Jamaica in 2011.
Soon after their engagement, Markle had landed her signature role in "Suits".
Filmed in Toronto, their relationship became a long- distance one. A series of flops followed for Engelson while the struggling actress became a star, and the marriage collapsed in 2013.
Through a mutual friend, she met Queen Elizabeth II's grandson Harry in July 2016 while visiting London.
Their romance quickly blossomed on a whirlwind camping trip to Botswana.
After their engagement was announced in November, Markle accompanied Harry, now sixth in line to the throne, on several public events.
Arthur Edwards, The Sun newspaper's royal photographer since 1977, said her style at public engagements was unusual.
"I've seen Meghan do selfies and give autographs, which the royals never do."
But Majesty Magazine editor Ingrid Seward told AFP that some readers "don't like her way of being outspoken, saying what she thinks, having views on politics and everything else".
She added: "Everybody's intrigued by Meghan, whether they like her or not".
Her acting career behind her, Markle's royal duties are likely to focus on youth, the Commonwealth and women's empowerment.
With Harry, his brother Prince William and his wife Kate, the four will have the task of renewing the monarchy's relevance to a younger generation.
