Politics / Re: Atiku's Next Move To Clinch The Presidency. by fijihems: 3:17pm On Nov 22, 2023
It baffles me how people even with their poor performance and credibility history will be so desperate to be president of Nigeria even at their dying age. Buhari was so desperate and when he became the president, Nigeria became the worse for it?

Politics / Re: Tinubu Still Nursing ‘Knee Surgery’ – Bayo Onanuga by fijihems: 3:07pm On Nov 22, 2023
LegendHero:
I remeber during the campaign when Obidient kids will go about photoshopping Tinubu image and doctoring his speeches.

Ever since baba became president, he don turn to the president with the best oratory skills we’ve had since 1999. Jagaban no send any baga.

This is exactly how the northerners were blindly supporting every thing Buhari was doing. After all said and done, is the average person from the north better off than others? We should emancipate ourselves from tribal politics.

Even if Bola Tinubu walk with crutches, we will still be behind him because we believe strongly in his abilities.

God bless President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

May God heal you, our wonderful president. If we give him a chance I'm sure he will perform well. So far all of his cabinet members are very good and honest people

He has already been given the chance. Let him perform.
Politics / Re: INEC Denies Achonu Access To Certified True Copies Of Election Documents by fijihems: 4:28pm On Nov 19, 2023
Once the APC has succeeded in putting whomever they want in a position, there is nothing anyone can do about it. If you like, you can go to court. It's a done deal.
Business / Re: CBN Liquidates 20 Banks - NDIC (names) by fijihems: 5:47pm On Nov 11, 2023
I don't seem to have heard about these banks except for Allied Bank and Progress Bank. I knew that Progress Bank existed in Nigeria 1980s and later closed down. I am surprised to hear about it as a bank that has been in operation. I just hope these are not just ghost banks established for fraudulent and dubious activities.

Politics / Re: Nigerians Know That Politicians Are Thieves, Yet Still Vote For Them - Amaechi by fijihems: 6:26pm On Oct 28, 2023
Amechi appears to be one of the few outspoken politicians who speak the truth about what we all know. He once said that politicians will continue to loot our money and walk freely because the people refuse to stone them.

Politics / Re: Dele Momodu: Why I Will Never Support Tinubu's Presidency by fijihems: 5:19pm On Oct 24, 2023
At the rate the naira is crashing every day, I expect the dollar be equal to N2000 in a couple of days and weeks. That's exactly where we are heading to, with no end in sight and no remedy.

Travel / Re: To Those That Have traveled out of Nigeria. by fijihems: 5:32pm On Oct 10, 2023
I learned that Nigeria was a good place to live when the British people governed the country and soon after the country became independent. But the honeymoon did not last long after independence in 1960.

Nigeria was using the British pounds as our currency and even when we changed our currency to naira, it was equal to our British pound and far more valuable than the dollar. We had a lot of agricultural products to export even before the advent of crude oil. There was reasonable level of security, peace and harmony amongst the people.

However, after we gained independence and started having our own political leaders, corruption, insecurity and destabilisation started growing gradually, leading to militarily coups, and later political coups, greater corruption, deterioration of the economy, serious insecurity, militancy and all forms of evil as evidenced in the country today.

Past governors of the state particularly Orji Uzo Kalu and Theodore Orji should be hiding their faces in shame for ruining Abia state and plundering the money meant for Abians for decades, resulting in near total collapse of infrastructure in the state.

Considering the present economic situation and perpetual inflation in this country, a “good” take home salary in my opinion is at least the naira equivalent of $1000.

Romance / Re: I Look So Older Than My Age! Will I Ever Get A Man To Marry Me? by fijihems: 9:16pm On Sep 27, 2023
HanisahZuwy:
I don't know if I'll ever get a man to marry me. I look so older than my age. I'm in my twenties, but I look like a 53 years old woman. Even men
and women old enough to be my father and mother will be referring to me as ma. Some of them are even people who are older than me with 30-35 years. Most people doubt me when they ask for my age and I tell them. They feel I'm lying about my age. I feel I'm more than the age I tell them. I know some people look older than their age, but I don't think any could be worse than mine. Mine is that bad!

I don't know why this is so. I don't know why I look so older than my age.Why is it like that? Is there any one here in this kind of situation? How does that make you feel? Please, what can I do to remedy this? Is there anyone here like that? Or am I alone? What do you normally do to help yourself in this situation? I would like to hear from you if you're in this.

It's not good or proper for one to be looking older than their age. I don't know if it is something that runs in your family, or if any of your parents is like that. It would have been better to see a picture of you, but I know that would be exposing your identity, which you won't like.

There are lots of natural remedies and masks people use to remain younger than their age, so you might have to explore them and see if they can work for you.

Politics / Re: Palliative: Officials Distribute 3 Cups Of Rice With ₦1,000 In Kogi (Video) by fijihems: 10:33pm On Sep 25, 2023
Are you serious about this? Is that how much the life and welfare of the people are worth nowadays? Just three cups of rice and N1000 ($1)? This is most pathetic.
Business / Re: Economist: How Can I Spend 70k A Month. by fijihems: 10:23pm On Sep 25, 2023
Honestly, I find it very difficult to give you any meaningful advice or suggestion even though I am an economist because N70,000 appears too little for someone who owns a car. I can only suggest that you do proper budgeting for your expenses on a day to day basis. I don't know if the idea of using your car to do part time taxi driver business is good enough because the car would be prone to more frequent breakdowns and maintenance costs are too high these days.

Naira is depreciating against every currency in the market and the government appears to have a clue about the solution. Perhaps the government does not see it as a problem. May God save us in this country called Nigeria. Every successive regime only brings about harder punishment and for the people.

Politics / Re: Abubakar Badaru: Nigeria Needs Prayers To End Insecurity by fijihems: 3:29pm On Sep 09, 2023
Where on earth has prayers perse been the solution to insecurity? Our problem is the political and judiciary systems are engulfed in corruption leading to widespread looting and impoverishment of the masses. Most of the practices of the politicians of using thugs and arming them during the elections and later abandoning the thugs the after they have achieved their ambition is the direct consequence of the reason why we will continue to have problems with insecurity in Nigeria.
