For retired state governors and even presidents to be paid such huge salaries and allowances for their service or disservice to the people while not being able to pay state and federal civil servants their meager salaries, pension and gratuity is criminal and the greatest crime against humanity and should be punishable.

My heart bleeds whenever I read such news, because the common man is killing fellow common men for stealing things from one common man.

Meanwhile the ruling and political class is shielding fellow members who steal billions and even trillions belonging to all of us. They are hardly imprisoned and even when they do, it's for only a few months and the matter is swept under the carpet.

This is a very naive and annoying statement. Igbos don't worship anyone except God.

Talk is cheap. What about the so called security vote, which I learned is about N500,000,000.00 every month and it's unaccounted for by any governor? What about replacing furniture and utensils with each new governor, without any account of the old furniture and utensils? What about some governors having thousands of personal assistants and advisers? Not to talk about the frivolous allowances for the governors, their families and even to their friends and relatives? The list is endless. Oh!! I even forgot about their world class pensions for working or rather stealing for four or eight years, while denying pensioners who have worked for 35 years or more their stipends called pension. And most of them die without receiving either their pension or gratuity. GOD WILL JUDGE OUR POLITICIANS AND THEIR JUDGEMENT WON'T BE GOOD FOR THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES.

This is a new but welcome development.

I will be more than scared to fly the Nigeria Air flights. I used to enjoy flying Nigerian Airways back in the days when Nigeria was one people and we were respected by foreign countries such as the United Kingdom that allowed Nigerians to come to the UK without a visa. Visa was given at the port of entry.

But today, Nigerians have been badly divided into ethnic and tribal lines and we have lost all our respect due to the level of corruption and poverty coupled with the worthlessness of our currency.

I was flogged several times by my father, but that was during my time. I didn't take any offense because I thought that it was the normal thing to do. My mother never spanked me, but would rather rush to drag me out from my father when she taught the beating was too much.

I see that as family politics, when mothers decide to let the father discipline their children while they play the good mother while creating hatred between the children and the father.

In my own case, I adopted the same style of spanking and disciplining my children, particularly my son who was the first born overseas. My son doesn't seem to like the way I tried to discipline him when he was younger and the mother uses that against me.

So, I am of the opinion that it is counter productive to spank children particularly if they are born in a developed country or even in Nigeria or elsewhere. The best approach is to deny the child what they love most until they correct their actions or attitude.

Politicians are able to loot because of the stupid presidential system run in Nigeria like no other country in the world.

Parliamentary system, which was run previously made politicians to be fully engaged in private or public services while attending parliament on a part time basis and being paid attendance allowance.

Also the unusual federal government system whereby the federal government is in control of all the nation's resources is the reason for the corruption and backwardness in our development, making politics a super lucrative business and therefore a do or die affair.

It also attracts criminal elements into politics and decent people tend to stay away from Nigerian politics because it is evil and bloody.

All I know if BAT is sworn in nobody should bother voting in 2027, because na Thugs go count votes.

If we are not careful in Nigeria, thugs and thuggery will become the order of the day. Coupled with growing insecurity, the country could become the number 1 joke of Africa.

Hypocrisy, they will turn around later to say that the elections went very well, even when people's lives are threatened.

Nigeria needs to redeem herself. We have been dragged to the mud by our greedy politicians and government officials handling our affairs. Things need to change for the best. A new Nigeria is still possible if we can rise above tribalism and religious sentiments.

How can corruption fight corruption?

Take your fingers off your face and apply only face powder on your face several times in a day and watch the pimples disappear in a short time. If possible pour some powder in a handkerchief and take it in your pocket. Apply the powder in the handkerchief several times a day and avoid using your fingers. Is that a smart way of appeasing the Southeast for stealing the mandate of Peter Obi? That will not work. The Southeast is good enough for the presidency, which could have been zoned to the Southeast in the first place.

People's prayers will not make God to do our work of punishing the politicians. People's action is what is needed to punish Nigerian politicians. The people have to unleash their bitterness and anger on the politicians and not waiting for God to do it.
