Adijatu Babalola, the mother of three, narrated how amazed she was to give the birth to the scripture. Only after the Bible was taken to church and then brought back, the woman delivered a girl, her fourth baby. Surprised locals who were present at the site were unanimously telling NTA correspondents they did see the Bible. Oba Abdul Wahab Oyedotun of the community characterized the incident as a good omen for the people of the area adding that it is the way God sends signals saying that “this time belongs to Him”. Festive colourful ceremonies were organized by the residents in honour of the miracle baby, with people praying for the mother and her child. It is not the first time the reports about spiritual deliveries surface in Nigeria. Recall the story that took place last year in Ibadan, Oyo state, where a baby boy was said to have been born holding a pocket-size Qur’an in his hand. The mother, who gave birth to the child at church, first thought the “strange” object was something devilish and threw it away. However, the baby became restless and continued to clutch his empty fist. Many people from various parts of the state travelled to Ibadan to catch a glimpse of the child. It is worth noting that Nigerians get divided into two camps in their reactions to such reports. Some believe that we should take these incidents as divine signs. The others, however, insist this is fake information that cannot be verified. [https://www.naij.com/662673-video-miracle-osun-woman-delivers-holy-bible.html] is good, have a look at it!

This is probably the most unforgettable and
the most embarrasing moment for a Croatian
human rights activist, whose pants fell down
while he was recieving an award from the
country’s president.
Ivan Zvonimir Cicak, Head of Croatian Helsinki
Committee for Human Rights, was posing with
the nation’s first female president Kolinda
Grabar-Kitarovic, when the worst possible
wardrobe malfunction happened.

The man’s trousers fell down to his ankles,
revealing his underwear and leaving Cicak red-
faced. The next moment Cicak pulls his pants
back up and trying to smile for the picture but
his face says it all.
His Pants In Crazy Stunt
Suddenly his pants fell down
However, it seems the unexpected slip-up
didn’t impress the president, as she is seen
keeping a completely straight face during the
incident. Fortunately, Cicak was holding a
large award certificate in his hands which
somehow helped to preserve his modesty.

President Muhammadu Buhari was advised to remove fuel subsidy as it is best time to act according to the World Bank. Nigerians quee for fuel John Litwack, the World Bank’s lead economist, said during the the Executive Council of the Federation meeting. While the Buhari government has hinted at its intent to remove fuel subsidy, the discussion is still on in the country with many Nigerians. Udoma Udoma, the Minister of Budget and National Planning, while announcing the Medium Term Expenditure Framework and the government’s N6 trillion budget proposal for 2016, said the authorities were seriously considering the options between removing or retaining fuel subsidy next year. The government’s body language seems to approve the former, rather than the latter. Litwack added that the new edition of Nigeria Economic Report that if the government really meant to take a decision on the issue of fuel subsidy removal, the best time to act would be now that world crude oil price was at its lowest level. While presenting the economic outlook of the global economy and the crude oil market, Mr. Litwack said the Bank predicted continuous weakening in global crude oil price. He said now is the best time for Nigeria to remove the subsidy, as doing so would not push retail pump price beyond an average of N100 per litre, or generate the kind pressure that would negatively impact on the people beyond what they are currently facing. Litwack said: “ The fuel subsidy appears to have vast modest benefits for the majority of citizens, but the costs are quite high,” Mr. Litwack noted. Leadership reports that the inferno which
occurred at two different times, first at around
5.pm on Sunday, December 6, and another at
about 3.am yesterday.
It was reported that the fire killed one person
and injured five others. The fire also razed no
fewer than 15 shops in the market.
Reacting to the sad incident, the state
Governor, Willie Obiano, cancelled the regular
Monday state’s Executive Council meeting and
rushed to the scene of the incident in the
morning to ascertain the level of destruction.
Addressing those affected by the tragic
incident, the governor while expressing his
sympathy promised to set up an investigative
panel to probe the cause of the inferno in
order to avert a reoccurrence.
Also speaking to newsmen, the state
command spokesman, Deputy Superintendent
of Police (DSP), Mr. Okechukwu Ali, confirmed
the tragedy. He said the deceased was one of
the officials of the State Fire Service who
helped in stopping the fire from spreading.
Ali commended the bravery of the fire
servicemen, noting that if not for their agility,
the fire would have escalated to other parts of
the market.
A source, who spoke on condition of
anonymity, said the fire service men
successfully put out the fire when it first
started on Sunday evening. He disclosed that:
“N1.5million was recovered from one of the
shops and handed over to the owner of the shop.”
“The second fire started about 3am yesterday
from one of the shops and extended to about 15
of them despite the efforts of the fire service
men and others who battled to quench the
inferno,” he stated.
The source further hinted that the deceased
was an operative of the Fire Service from
Onitsha Main Market who came to put out the
fire.
“He met his untimely death when he climbed a
storey building to spread the water to the inferno
from there but unfortunately for him, the building
collapsed and he died in the process,” the source
said.
The eyewitness said another fire service
operative broke one of his legs while four
other of his colleagues sustained various
degrees of injuries. |
