Webmasters / Q And A With Findworka's Back-end Developer Yusuf Tunde by Findworka: 11:31am On Aug 18, 2017
Yep!! So this week. I had a chat with Tunde Yusuf, one of our senior back-end developers and would love to share that conversation with everyone. Incase you have any questions for him, you can put them down in the comment section and I am sure he will be willing to answer them.

Oyinkansola: How did you learn how to code and how long did it take?
Tunde: Am a self taught programmer. I learnt how to code by reading books, watching how to's videos. For me it took a while before i could grasp what programming is, cause i started when i was in my senior secondary school. I finally got the hang of it by the time i was done with my O'Level.

Oyinkansola: What is your favourite programming language/tools?
Tunde: My favorite language is PHP.
I use Sublime Text editor as my programming tool, although there are many others. But sublime is my go to tool.

Oyinkansola: For someone who may like to go into that field of technology, what would you say is the best way and/or place to gain your kind of skill? Also how was your learning experience while learning about it?
Tunde: Join groups with like minded people, get books or video tutorial, anywhere you find conducive for learning will do, and don't forget to Google solutions to whatever problems you might encounter.
"whatever problem you have is not new, someone else had the same problem, try using Google before seeking help from anybody else" - Olufuwa Temitayo.

Oyinkansola: Do you purchase website templates, or build designs from scratch?
Tunde: I do purchase website templates sometimes, but most of the time I build from scratch or tweak something from my library to fit what am trying to achieve.

Oyinkansola: What is your advice to people who intend to take up remote/freelance jobs?
Tunde: "Just do it, but with your heart"

Oyinkansola: Finally, what is Findworka Pro all about?
Tunde: Findworka Pro is a program to get the best freelancers in the world to work together and remotely on world class tech projects. This program helps freelancers challenge themselves to improve their skillset, cause only the best hands are selected to work on projects under this platform.

Right now, i would love to spice up this interview and make it fun.

Oyinkansola: If you had to give up food for a month, what would you want as your last meal?
Tunde: As a foodie, this is a tough one fa. I would go for Iyan with assorted egusi soup.

Oyinkansola: Are you a book lover? Tell us your favourite author and book
Tunde: Won't really consider myself as a book lover. I don't have a favorite author.
My favorite book is "48 Laws of power".

Oyinkansola: What title would you give your autobiography?
Tunde: The boy who got scared of failure.

Oyinkansola: Tell us something interesting or weird about yourself.
Tunde: lol, my instagram handle is "iamweird". Hope that’s not weird though?
I am fascinated by the french.

Oyinkansola: Do you love movies?
Tunde: Yes of cause.

Oyinkansola: All-time favourite movie(s)?
Tunde: The usual suspect - 1995, The wolf of wall street - 2013, The Social Network - 2010 and the Godfather - 1972.

Oyinkansola: Are you a music lover?
Tunde: Yeah definitely.

Oyinkansola: Favourite artiste(s)?
Tunde: J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Yanni.

You can either choose a set time and decide which tasks or projects need to get done first. This will help you maintain focus and increase your motivation. If you are working from home, try to avoid working close to a television or better still disconnect every means of distraction.

Working remotely certainly has its benefits, but it can be difficult compared to working in an office setting, but there are still a number of ways you can be just as productive working remotely as you are in the office setting.

1. Setup working hours and work-space: If you want to work remotely, that does not mean you can only work from home. 1. Make your profile speak for you: Toot your horn, carefully describe your skills and your relevant experience but don’t exaggerate. Go straight to the point, don’t around the bush otherwise the client might get bored reading it. Upload a decent picture, make sure your face is showing clearly and you can smile. In Nigeria today, freelancing is becoming more sought after. So how do you distinguish yourself from the influx of designers and attract those clients you’ve always dreamed of having on your books?. Having to create awesome design works and just posting online will not be enough to build a name and brand for yourself.

In this post, I have been able to outline some basics to help any designer (Graphics, print, Interface and digital) who wants to create a recognizable brand around their work and build a brand name.

1. Picture yourself as a client: spend a little personal time to develop a creative proposal for the project. Research information about your competitors and your market. Take your project through the same process you would use with a major client.

Ongoing web development for an offline based operation, to be ordered for and monitored online. A Uber related concept.

The project is for a startup, and so the development would be on an ongoing basis in line with iterations. Room for a long lasting relationship with the right person(s) with the right blend of skills and attitude.

At minimum you should feel comfortable with resizing, cropping and applying the necessary features to get a quality image.

Often times as designers we are accompanied with the challenge of getting ideas on images, concepts etc. In order to achieve a particular design. As designers, you are accustomed to conceptualizing websites in terms of design structure, Headlines, white space, code, navigation, and so on – as well as in terms of content management. When it comes to design, skill can change and things evolve over time. However, there are few basic things a web designer ought to know:

1.Creating a Headline: Creating a catchy headline is key, in the sense that the topic using for a design should be appealing to the sight even before reading them, and also it should be able to bring the glue and message together in a design without ambiguity.
