HealthRe: How Can I Restore My Smell Sense by fineboynl(m): 11:48pm On Aug 12, 2025
The condition of not being able to smell anything is called anosmia. It can be a temporary or permanent loss of the sense of smell. While often a side effect of common ailments like colds or allergies, it can also be a symptom of more serious conditions.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
What is anosmia?
Complete loss of smell:
Anosmia refers to the complete inability to detect odors according to the Cleveland Clinic.
Temporary or permanent:
Anosmia can be a temporary condition, such as during a cold or sinus infection, or it can be permanent, resulting from head trauma or other neurological issues.
Not the same as hyposmia:
Hyposmia is a reduced ability to detect odors, whereas anosmia is a complete loss, according to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD).
What causes anosmia?
Nasal issues:
Swelling or blockage in the nasal passages, often due to colds, allergies, or sinus infections, can prevent odor molecules from reaching the olfactory receptors according to Healthline.
Neurological problems:
Damage to the olfactory nerves or brain structures involved in processing smell can also lead to anosmia.
Other causes:
Head trauma, certain medications, cocaine abuse, and even old age can contribute to anosmia.
What are the effects of anosmia?
Taste impairment:
Loss of smell can significantly affect the ability to taste, as smell and taste are closely linked.
Reduced enjoyment of food:
People with anosmia may find that food is less enjoyable or flavorful, potentially leading to weight loss or malnutrition.
Safety concerns:
Anosmia can make it difficult to detect hazards like smoke, gas leaks, or spoiled food.
Mental health impact:
The inability to smell can impact mood and social interactions, sometimes leading to depression.
When to seek medical advice:
If you experience a sudden loss of smell, especially if accompanied by other symptoms like headache or fever.
If your loss of smell persists for an extended period.
If you have any concerns about your sense of smell or its impact on your quality of life.

HealthRe: Nigerian Military Doctors by fineboynl(m): 11:27pm On Aug 12, 2025
I don't think you want to join. Is like you just need money. There was a time was the military during buhari recruiting mechanics, rewire, technician and other professionals into the military. Some people I know joined them. But they were using them and paying the same salary as normal soldier. If they need to fix their vehicles on emergency those guys will be called to look into it. But it doesn't always end well. A normal mechanic earn more than the same status of a military mechanic.

It's better you join private medical field than the military.

Car TalkRe: Why Is It Always Men Who Stop To Assist A Lady, When Her Car Breaks Down? by fineboynl(m): 11:12pm On Aug 12, 2025
That’s normal because men see women like children. And Also men sees them like novices concerning cars. Like Someone who doesn’t know anything about mechanical or electrical issues in cars. Although Majority will just want to just help but while some might hope for something in return. It’s not because anything is in there Vijay but those type of men enjoy sleeping with random women it makes them feel good counting numbers and making registrar.

Most men will not stop for a fellow man, even the ones that would have liked to stop will consider security risk.. So how do you expect a female to stop for another female

Car TalkRe: Tinted Glass Permit: Police Silence Fuels Anxiety Over August 12 Deadline by fineboynl(m): 10:50pm On Aug 10, 2025
Many people that applied are yet to be approved. And there so many complains from tictok that the site is not processing data or payment while others complain they can’t even access or open it.

Some people who contact police they either charge them from 50k to 150k depending or place and type of car for tinted permits.

Some people who manage to get approval for biometric verification at their command. The Police charged from 15k to 40k just to verify do verification. You see this country eh. You can’t separate us from corruption.

From all the problems experienced so far the I think police will have no option than to keep postpone it till next year.

In state like Lagos police is just using this means to open office for motorists from extortion.

Almost All cars in the core north are tinted i guess because of the hot sun there and kidnapping gluon but yet they remain calmer than south. See eh na south they pay tax and renew car papers. North them nor de pay or renew, and police won’t disturb them there. Once a topical northerner buy car they do vehicle registration that all, they hardly ever pay yearly renewal.
PoliticsRe: Wike's Aide Reacts To Peter Obi's 5-Year Single Term Comment by fineboynl(m): 7:59am On Aug 10, 2025
benardtotti:
Actually it's a bad idea for African countries where leaders only care about themselves, just imagine if buhari had single term of 5 years , I doubt he would have done anything other than give his tribesmen more room to operate and then marry off his kids to rich families, Nigeria would have been worse off. Or imagine past governors like ikpeazu , orji ,etc , they will use the 5 years to balance well and steal while giving the state residents palliatives, there will be absolutely no motivation to want to develop the state.
but you know second term is were elected officials steals and don't really do anything. Imagine tinubu second term it will be worst than this

I recently got this Xiaomi phone for 120k, I guess it would be roughly 10k if we were in 2006 😏
2013-2015 mid-range phone use to be between 15k to 30k while 60k-80k high end.

I bought MTN smart phone 8500. That phone lasted me for 3years.

So 2006 it will be cheaper. Jonathan left bag of rice at 8k foreign rice 2015

Putinofrussia:
So also is 100k in 2006 cannot buy what 8k can buy in 1987.

In1990, a 50k bag of rice cost N350.

In 2006, a 50kg bag of rice in Nigeria cost ₦6,000.

In 2025,a 50k bag of rice cost N70,000.
Let us do the maths.

6000 divided by 350 gives ~ 17.

70,000 divided by 6000 gives ~ 11.6= 12(approx)

Comparing the two with the space of 16 and 19 years,Tinubu has done better because price went up 17 times in 1990 (space of 16 years to 2006) even with the fraudulent Fuel Subsidy.

In 2025,with the removal of the fraudulent Fuel Subsidy, price only went up approximately,12 times (and things are still coming down exponentially, we pray)

Kudos to President Tinubu for having got the gut to make these hard decisions that brings prosperity to Nigerians soonest..
why didn’t you start from 1999. The ibb and abacha destroyed Nigeria.! Obj really tried to bring back the economy. If we tell ours self the truth PDP did better than APC

BlackViper:
Hahaha😂So MTN has now become a juggernaut in Nigeria's telecom service sector to the point where newer industry entrants like 9mobile are now paying them roaming services to use their infrastructure

No wonder 9mobile data tariffs are so expensive. They're obviously dumping the cost of paying for the roaming services on their customers/subcribers

I guess the hey days of telcos gradually developing and building up their own critical infrastructure is officially over now

With the way things are going now, I won't be surprised if GLO also has to start paying MTN roaming fees, which would be a huge embarrassment to the country.
Mtn is own by whites. Same thing with Airtel by Indians. Any tech controlled by Nigerians hardly ever works in this country.

9mobile own by banks and some politicians.

It’s not a force to watch the program. Even me I don’t watch it. A program that’s generating funds and paying taxs. Even taking some Nigerians mind away from the pain and reality of this government.

So every year will keep talking about this program ban?

Dstv have child control. And Parent can restrict the content that’s allowed to be view. So it’s not a force everyone can watch it. Beside how many people is even subscribing to dstv and gotv? Because their viewers have reduced significantly.

Any body with smartphones in Nigeria have unrestricted access to so many contents. So what’s is bbnaija we are even talking about?

If the results are not transmitted. Them go rewrite it for INEC office oh. And tell Nigerians to go to court.

Removing tinubu nor go easy oh. Obi/Atiku combo is the only chance that might work. As it is now north will likely support tinubu. This I have seen. Person like tinubu will not conduct a credible election he doesn’t give a f. About integrity. If atiku combo with Obi get get 70% votes they might have a chance. Outside of that forget.

This time around Lagos election will be rigged with thugs
