I want to share my economics observations. I created a thread before. But let me paste it here

Let's assume we had a 500 trillion total money supply in Nigeria before devaluation.

and suffered a 500% inflation as a result of bad policy and strangulation of the economy.

The problem is not as a result of having excess money but a bad policy of floating the currency and increasing prices of everything overnight.

As a result of this our GDP which was measured in USD drops in value.

Things originally sold for 200 rose to 1000. This shakes up the economy as everything else increases.

The outcome is reduced. Spending: Because there is less money, economic activity slows down, and purchasing power often stalls. People have goods, property, and services to render, but there is no money with the artificial inflation caused by bad policies. Government spending increases greatly, five-fold, from the previous project cost, but with lesser results.

example. People that had 10,000,000 in the account before suffered a loss equivalent to 8,000,000. as what they now have is 2,000,000 in value of 10,000,000 from a few days ago,

Now let's assume the country loses 500% of this money supply value.

There is going to be bad business and low patronage, like Nigeria is facing now with price increases.

The remaining money supply in the economy shrinks in value from 500 trillion to 100 trillion actual value.

Should not the government print more money to balance the bad economy by making it a 2.5 quadrillion money supply?

Sounds like a bad idea, right? But alternatively, it is to re-dominate the currency to remove 1 or 2 zeros. Instead of the government mentioning quadrillion, which is already an embarrassment.

The right thing to do is to print more money to be equivalent to its previous values.

In 1999 the annual budget was ₦300 billion (after the bad economy, such as inflation from IBB and Abacha).

A decade later, in 2009, it was ₦3.102 trillion.

Another decade later, in 2019, it was ₦8.92 trillion.

And right now it's ₦68.32 trillion.

The budget rose greatly with nothing to show. The life expectancy or projects were way better in 2009 when the national budget was 3-4 trillion.

With a budget of 4 trillion, Jonathan built massive roads in the north and the Benin-Auchi road. and the biggest economy in Africa.

But with ₦68.32 trillion now. We are seeing lesser results.

The IRGC have limits the influence of Iran foreign minister with discrepancy with the US negotiation. The foreign minister is now moving with alot of security while the deputies is more prominent in playing the role.

U.S intelligent have noticed a divides in the IRGC and power control.

As of April 2026, severe divides have emerged between the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and political elites, characterized by a struggle for control over national security and diplomatic strategy. The death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in March 2026 removed the primary arbiter between these factions, allowing long-simmering tensions to spill into the open.
ComputersMicrosoft In Panic Mode After Mac Neo Sold 10m Copies And Run Out Of Stock by fineboynl(op):
Microsoft is reportedly "scared" because of Apple's recent announcement of the MacBook Neo, a $599 budget-friendly laptop. This release targets the core of the Windows market—specifically students and price-sensitive consumers who typically buy Windows PCs or Chromebooks.

The "trouble" stems from several competitive pressures:

Microsoft is not releasing a standalone "Windows 11 Lite" for consumers, but it is currently overhauling Windows 11 to be significantly "lighter" and more resource-efficient in direct response to Apple’s MacBook Neo success.

Microsoft announced in march that they will be focusing on performance in the coming days to remove bloatware from windows 11. there are also plans to integrated the Ai on the edge browser itself, which would make edge boot-up on each startup instead of running so many independent programs on the background.

Market Disruption: For the first time, Apple is offering a premium-feeling aluminum laptop at a price point where Windows OEMs often use plastic and offer inferior battery life.
The "RAM Crunch": While component costs (like RAM) are rising, Apple is leveraging its supply chain power to keep the Neo's price low. Meanwhile, Microsoft has had to increase prices for its Surface lineup due to these same costs of more ram.
Forced Improvements: Industry analysts report that Microsoft is already reacting by shifting focus to Windows 11 performance and reliability to better compete with the "paradigm-shifting" Neo.
Hardware Comparisons: Reviewers from PCWorld and ZDNET highlight that Microsoft’s entry-level Surface starts at a higher price and often doesn't include necessary accessories like a keyboard, making the Neo a significantly better value proposition.

Former Windows chief Steven Sinofsky even called the Neo a "paradigm-shifting computer," lamenting that while Microsoft had similar ideas years ago with the Surface RT, they failed to execute the transition as effectively as Apple has now done with its silicon.

According to reports from The Verge and Digital Trends, Microsoft’s strategy focuses on these key performance areas:

Reducing Memory Footprint: Microsoft is lowering the baseline RAM usage of Windows 11 so it can run more smoothly on 8GB devices—a direct counter to the MacBook Neo, which leverages Apple's unified memory to perform well even with 8GB of RAM.
Modular Architecture (Project CorePC): Internally, Microsoft is working on a "modular" version of Windows. This version is designed to be up to 75% smaller than the standard OS by only including essential components for specific devices, similar to how ChromeOS operates.
System Responsiveness: New builds (like Build 28,020) are moving core parts of the interface—such as the Start menu and File Explorer—to WinUI 3 to reduce lag and speed up app launches.
Silicon Optimization: Microsoft is readying Windows 11 version 26H1, which is specifically optimized for newer chips like the Snapdragon X2 to match the efficiency seen in Apple's Silicon.

Estimated User Base (April 2026)

Initial Sales: While specific "live" user counts aren't public, Apple initially projected selling 5 to 6 million units for the year.
Production Ramp-up: Due to overwhelming demand that saw the device sell out through April, Apple has nearly doubled its 2026 production target to 10 million units.
Record Adoption: CEO Tim Cook stated that the MacBook Neo launch marked the "best launch week ever for first-time Mac customers," suggesting that a significant portion of its users are entirely new to the macOS ecosystem.
BusinessRe: John Ternus To Replace Tim Cook As Apple CEO by fineboynl(m):

Most times people hurriedly condemn people based on how they perceive life.....
Pls before you condemn these parents ask yourself two questions
1. Do they really have the money to send but chose to withold it.
2. Before you call them lazy, what happened to the ward also getting a skill so he/she can augument his stipend.

I dislike children with entitlement and judgmental mentality.

Just wait till it gets to ur turn your eyes 👀 will clear....
even if they have it.not just only poor parents. If a rich man send 1m to their child they might think that amount should do more. Because they usually find it hard to understand the inflation. During Jonathan that amount use to be very big. Under a decade it's now a worthless money.
FamilyWhy Parents Are Always Not In Touch With Reality Of Inflation by fineboynl(op): 5:04am On Apr 21
If an individual still depends on their parents for one or two financial assistance, they will likely face challenges explaining why the money is not enough in current time.

Maybe it will not or it didn’t solve all the needs. The reason is that elderly people find it hard relating to current inflation rates unlike younger people.

In places like Nigeria, where inflation has happened to be like bread and tea during the last decade.

People from previous generations that saw 1 million as a huge amount of money would find it hard to believe you couldn’t manage the fund they provided. They married and bought a car and even built a house with less than a million.

If as a student and maybe as a struggling person and you live far from home your best option is to try as much as possible to cut off reliance on anyone.

PhonesRe: Older Phones "Button" Or Feature Phones Contains More Golds by fineboynl(op): 11:37pm On Apr 20
It takes approximately 30 to 40 modern smartphones to produce 1 gram of gold.

As of April 2026, 1 gram of 24-karat gold in Nigeria is approximately ₦207,000 – ₦209,000 NGN. Prices fluctuate daily based on market conditions, with 22K gold trading around ₦190,000–₦191,000 per gram. International spot prices are roughly $130–$145 USD per gram for high-purity gold.

To produce 1 gram of gold from modern laptops, you would need to process approximately 15 to 30+ laptops.

While earlier, heavier electronics contained more precious metals, modern laptops and phone have become much more efficient, resulting in lower gold yields per device.

Laptop RAM contains small amounts of gold, primarily found on the edge connectors (gold fingers) and sometimes within the memory chips themselves. While amounts vary, older DDR, DDR2, and DDR3 modules generally contain more gold (0.05–0.2g per stick) than newer DDR4/DDR5 (0.04–0.08g). Average yields often fall around
per module, though this fluctuates by type

PhonesOlder Phones "Button" Or Feature Phones Contains More Golds by fineboynl(op): 6:01pm On Apr 20
Yes, older mobile phones (including "button" phones or feature phones) generally contain more gold per unit compared to modern smartphones.
Higher Concentration in Older Units: Older electronics, including older phones, often had higher amounts of gold in their connectors and circuit boards compared to the miniaturized components in newer, thinner smartphones.

Gold Content per Phone: While it varies by model, on average, a mobile phone contains around 36 mg of gold.
Significant Amounts in E-waste: A tonne of discarded mobile phones has significantly more gold (up to 100 times more) than a tonne of gold ore, making them valuable for recycling.

Recycling Requirements: To put it in perspective, it takes roughly 41 smartphones to recover 1 gram of gold, but with older, less efficient components, the gold is often more concentrated in key parts.

However, both old and new phones contain gold in their circuit boards, connectors, and processors, making them valuable, but older phones from the 1990s and early 2000s tend to have thicker plating and larger components, resulting in a higher yield per phone
