Not a barca fan, but mehn, I've got to salute Messi for his loyalty esp in this day and age money talks. He just proved that he really loved barca and his intention for leaving was that the board (and president) couldn't match his ambition. Now that he has laporte as president whom he trust (whom also I must commend for convincing messi to stay with a slash of wages - no mean feat at all), he believes he has a board who can support his last days/years of his playing life.

Sometimes, I wonder how people criticize messi for staying in the club he loves, when that same club is one of the best(if not the best sef) in the world. If other clubs can keep their best player and the player wants to stay, I'm not sure they'd trade him for anyone. Even Madrid fans still wish Ronaldo can come to Madrid back if it's possible. This is where I commend laporta.. Tying messi with down with reduced wage when he still have lots to offer .
