Some people didn't notice it but almost all our plays — our key chances were from fast transitions from defence to attack. The middle wasn't really the brainchild of those tactical works.

If you closely look at it sef, our middle had the lowest contribution to attacks. We always used the wings which was becoming predictable — although that is a style Xavi is known to employ.

That's why I keep complaining about the midfield. Quick transition was the same way Bayern used to hurt us by quickly bypassing our middle.

You forget that the transition today was orchestrated by Pedri than our defenders. I think whilst we can both agree that the Xavi system is dependent on wingers, we also should appreciate that full back or center back that comes in to serve as the fourth man during attacks is helping us recycle possession easily after losing it.

The balance in midfield will come and I think it'll happen with Gavi after Pedri. The young man is already practicing through balls to the final man and in the long run, it'll become effective.

Raphina too might assume the no. 10 position since he has some fine passing amd crosses but first, I think he'll have to master beating his marker effectively first because oppositions will descend on him. As it stands now, only dembele might remain our out-and-out winger because of his sneaky feet and all. Maybe Memphis too, if he stays.
