I just don't know Missed chances. We obviously were the better team and as you know, playing a team like Bayern and missing those chances are sure gonna be brutal. Not forgetting that individual relapses cost us too. If not.. |

mostob: I hope Nico makes it too though he may not be able to fully replicate Busquet. As slow and lean as Busquet is, the guy is too mentally equipped for the DM role. Busi has to be a coach after he retires. Just imagine him as an assistant to Pep for like 3 seasons. The guy sef sabi |

mostob: Thank you. Let me add that Enrique being Spain's coach is an added advantage for him as the trio of Busquet,Pedri and Gavi won't find it difficult to adapt because they receive almost same tutoring both in the club and the national team. This is one of the reason why Iniesta, Busquet and Xavi were dominant. Hopefully, Nico will be back to take over from Busquet. I am not banking on Nico to take over Busi... That boy still has a lot to learn on what it requires to be a DM. He's more of a B2b |

oliverano: I really love what Xavi is doing here
When he was appointed, I thought he'll play like Pep's Barca considering his exploit and his kind of person.
But he's playing like Enrique's Barca; possession, speed, directness and quick transition from defence to attack. Very similar to what Enrique did With Gavi doing the work of Rakitic on the RM. Pedri doing the work of Iniesta on the LM. With a pure 9 Lewa just like Suarez then.
I'm so happy he's playing this way but Peps Barca remains the best ever! I agree. It'll take a lot of technicality and brilliance from players to match Pep's Barca. They don't produce those kind of players anymore. The level of intelligence, technicality, and gameplay is not something we'll find anywhere or anytime soon. So, it's better to go for the second best. Albeit that they are still young. |

mostob: Bro...Tite was in attendance for one of Arsenal's matches this season where he met Edu. Now I don't think I should be explaining who Edu is to you. Connect the dots. A whole Gabriel Jesus won't make Brazil's squad?? Let me not even mentioned Magalhes. Martinelli has a lot of competition so.... There's no way Gabriel Jesus won't make the squad ahead of Rodrygo. That's not gonna sell anywhere. A confirmed starter with impressive numbers over someone that doesn't even play consistently on a particular wing. That's balderdash!!! |

jpmoriarti: At the end of the day, it's a matter of respect.
By all means, celebrate your goal however ways you prefer but do not rile up the opposition.
Football is an elite game, played by elite men and women, who are professional to the core. Riling up to opposition is amateurish. Here's a picture of Griezman dancing after scoring at Bernabeu without problems. It's just hating... I don't see anything wrong with Vini celebrating his goal anyway he sees fit

jpmoriarti: He seems to provoke the opposition and dancing infront of opposition fans.
I remember Puyol cautioning Neymar one time we played against Rayo and he was dancing infront of their fans.
You have to respect the opponent. This thing about respecting the opponent is a choice. Players celebrate differently and if dancing suits the guy, let hom have it. Worse still, making it a racial banter is worse. As a Barca fan, I won't mind seeing Vini score and DANCE in front of ATM fans on Sunday, even though they end up losing the game. |

monerozi5590: Are you telling me Tite is that rigid? You mean he will overlook stats/performances leading to the WC?
You mean even if Rodrygo is having a better season than those guys leading to the WC he will still be behind in the pecking order? November is still faraway kinda, but right now... Rodrygo cannot beat Raphina to that starting position on the right. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by FirstbornWds: 3:38pm On Sep 16, 2022 |
GoddyOra: I am a Madridsta, you are kinda right with your takes but Rodrygo will surely make the Brazil WC cut ahead of Neres, G. Jesus, and Everton (they aren't in the picture ATM. You can check the most recent Brazil call ups).
Rodrygo usurping Raphinha and Antony for the RW in Qatar, this November is already too late as those two have been slogging it out between them for the past year. But in the long run, if Rodrygo keeps playing RW for us, He will eventually nick that spot. Brazil current attack is still Neymar (LW), Richarlison (ST), and Raphinha/Antony (RW)...Vini is even still trying to force himself into that attack but we will see who starts in Qatar.
Antony and Raphinha has to sit up and perform for their club sides consistently if they will keep being Brazil first two choices for that RW spot.
IMO, Rodrygo is a far better talent than Raphinha so starting over him in their National team will only come natural with time. Rodrygo is a fine talent, but like someone rightly pointed out on Reddit, he needs to start playing on the RW consistently to stand a chance to beat Raphina in that wing. Coming in as a sub won't cut it for him, just yet and if Raphina could actually body that position whilst playing for Leeds ahead of Anthony ( Starter for Ajax), Gabriel Jesus ( this one na nepa as we no no his position yet) and Everton, I don't see how Rodrygo can ursup that, yet. Especially with his good form at Barca. |

Tite is not stupid, and I'm sure he knows whom to choose. If them no day comfortable, make them go Brazil go protest. |

Kilishihunter: They should use bellerin that has lost his speed to face Mane, musiala, Lol Btw alonso was one of the best players on the pitch even ferran, Busquets is our only CDM so rest I agree with you on raphinha though Bellerin is still crazily fast. I was editing a video of some of his playing time at Betis and he's not that bad. Although I think Xavi utilizing Kounde as RB is primarily due to his capacity to pick up passes to the forwards. If not, Araujo would have been the man. That said, I am sure we'll get better. |

The biggest mistake Xavi made yesterday was leaving Busi and Raphina for long in the second half. It was obvious that Bayern brought in Gortzeka to disrupt our flow in the midfield through fouls and bullying. A simple substitution to bring in Kessie to match that strength, and FDJ to play DM would have been okay to balance things up.
Raphina on his part, needs to work a lot on not overhitting passes and being too eager to impress. He's a team player and should play as such.
Then maybe a natural fullback would have flourished better yesterday to allow Dembele to play properly inverted, than Kounde that was more focused on the defensive side. Xavi needs to trust Bellerin to deliver as boy has still got the pace to match whatever.
Then again, Fati for Ferran would have been better with Dembele on the far side right.
All in all, we move. |

TLona1: Bro I suggest you make a personal research on Lewy and his impacts in big games in the past. You'll realize what I'm hammering on. I have seen enough of Lewa games to make me see that he's nothing compared to what you said. Primarily, most teams would rather have him be quiet because he's the biggest threat up front. But then, man continues to help in other areas like leaving space for his wingers, and maybe AM to thrive in the box and if there's an opening eventually, he can kill off too. He's scored against big rivals too. Dortmund, Monchengladbach, Rral Madrid, Barcelona and all. He's not the third-highest goalscorer in the UCL by mouth, and neither is he Bundesliga second highest goal scorer by scoring only against smaller teams. Let's not forget that this man banged 4 goals against Madrid in a single UCL match. He was unlucky yesterday which I think has got to do with his mentality toward leaving the Allianz Arena mostly than ever. |
