Lemme share my background briefly
I got pregnant at 16, now i am 26.
The news of the pregnancy left me in depression so I avoided my boyfriend. Lied to him I had travelled anytime he wanted to see me. The bubble bursted when he found me at home. He was so furious. Tried explaining to him that the news of my pregnancy made me depressed that was why i avoided him. He left with this words "dont ever call me or text me until i ask u to do so"....that was the end.
I never saw him or heard from him until three and half years later when he commented on my facebook picture with his son, but I was so hurt that I couldn't reply it. He was a Muslim, and I am a Christian.
I never loved or like again. For ten years remained single. Didn't even feel any crush for anybody . suitors have been coming but I turn them down.

Three months ago I met this guy, he is a muslim. Our souls knitted.He asked me out and I said yes, just to have company and emotionally bond. I also enjoy his presence. I took it as casual dating.
He is such a darling, cared for me, pampered and pet me like a baby. He gives me allowances on weekly basis, so that i never have to spend a kobo out of my salary. He has never touched me. Sometimes we sleep on the same bed overnight and he has never laid his hands on me. Althrough our relationship, the worst we have done is pecking.
Out of the blue, he knelt in the presence of his friends and mine and proposed marriage with a ring .
Was shocked and scared. Said yes to spare him public shame with the intention of calling off the engagement after their departure.
My reasons are:
1. Never thought of marriage or settling down. The passion or interest aint there.
2. We have barely dated for three months-too short.
3, he is a muslim and i am a christian.
I do care about him and think about day and night but marriage has never crossed my mind .
The calling off the engagement was emotional, we both cried. ...he felt betrayed claiming I wasted three months of his life.
Marriage wasn't what I bargained for,just a mutual relationship with him

Wait first, you didn't tell us weather you aborted the baby or not??...anyway, the only good reason i see why you called off the engagement is the religion issue asides that you are just a supposed "over grown puppy" which prolly is wallowing in confussion.
