I personally think that the reason is religion.

Most Yoruba States are having Muslims as majority examples are, Ogun, Oyo,kwara, and Osun been the most Muslim dominated state.

If both SE and SW are Christians then, believe me that half of Nigerians problem has been solved.
When did you conduct your sensors?

If you don't have facts to back up your claim then, I'll advise you to stop misleading people by spewing trash.

Tinubu has not come out specifically to respond to any of the Fulani herdsmen killings. He is hedging his bets

At any rate he is not in government

What about Senator Tinubu his wife?

What has she done or said about the Fulani herdsen activities

Is her silence representative of her constituents.

What has she done to mobilize relief to the people of Benue?

How much money or food has Lagos state sent ?

Is this consonant with our values
Tinubu spoke about the issue of herdsmen last year. Google it.

What are the the senators from Benue doing concerning herdsmen? What are the leadership of the NASS doing? By now I expect the NASS to pass a bill banning open grazing in Nigeria. But saraki and dogara are not interested.

There are three senators from Lagos. What have the others done? Or you can only take Remi to ransom while leaving the rest? Have you called out David Mark?

You want her to use the money appropriated to her constituency donated to Benue while others keep theirs.

I can see you just hate the woman.

Stop the pathetic whining .

You made the point relentlessly and beyond a point when most reasonable people would have moved on.

The issue that she iis not from Lagos State is an incidental observation. Why then try to misrepresent me as though I anywhere said she should be voted out for that reason.
Is not another Lagos Senator now trying to be governor in Ogun?

Please spare me the sob story

Our beef with her is that she did not get there on Merit and she has not performed. Her behaviour at the senate has often brought embarrassment to Lagos State. It is also noteworthy that she is not from Lagos.
You started your topic by pointing out that she's not an indigene of the state. So don't pretend not to take it serious. If not you wouldn't put it in your topic in the first place. Nobody needs any legislature knowing that customarily, a woman becomes an indigene of her husband's place in Yoruba land and in some other African cultures. She is a Lagosian by marriage.

You said she didn't get there on merit. Can you explain to us why she's not qualified to be a senator? Is she not qualified academically?

On the issue of performance. Can you judge her on the level of other senators from the state? What are others doing that she's not doing?

If you can't provide clear answers to these, then I'll agree you have personal issues with her.

PoliticsRe: The Quickest Route To Making The North Accept Restructuring by Firstpage: 2:25pm On Mar 17, 2018
RedeemNigeria:
All other parts of Nigeria agree that restructuring is the way forward except the North.

This means that the North is the biggest beneficiary of the current structure.

There is an angle in this whole issue that no one is really looking at.

The un-noticed angle is that all other parts of the country have the SAME INTEREST which is restructuring

It is therefore foolish for anyone to expect restructuring in any regime led by a Northerner.

If other regions are truly sincere about restructuring, they should team up as one in their voting pattern.

Just think of what the North would do if they don't taste power at the center for the next 20 years with no hope of ever getting there again!

The results: The North will be first to call for restructuring or even opt to break away.

BIAFRA and the other agitating republics, this is simply the formula that will make your self determination a reality. If not, it is only a dream that will become a nightmare.

And if this formula does not result into restructuring or the breaking of Nigeria, it will surely result into a better country because it will at least force everyone to the negotiating table. No one will dominate the other again.
Mention any legislator from the south that's pushing for restructuring in the national assembly.

You guys keep shouting north as if southern politicians want restructuring.

Click this link and read excerpts from Achebe's books. The word 'Ibo' was only used in TFA printed in the UK by caucausians and that book was simply written for the consumption of foreigners who previously believed that Africans never had their own governments before the colonial days.

In subsequent editions and in other books it was 'Igbo' all through. grin grin

It has since been acknowledged by your fellow yorubas on this thread right from pg 0 that the term Yoruba was a foriegn description by mainly Hausa/Fulani who referred to your ancestors as Oyoroba in refrence to oyo and oba.
Wawa illiterate. I guess oyoroba is Ibo language. The fact the name is Yoruba itself should tell you it was not given by a foreigner. But knowing how dimwitted you are, I am not surprised.

PoliticsRe: How Did The Olukumin People Accept A Hausa Derogatory Term As Their Name? by Firstpage: 9:16am On Mar 17, 2018
GBTYO:
Pathetic liar you are...

The term Yoruba was coined by Sahelian scholar.

Much of the early written works of Yoruba history by the likes of Ajayi Crowther referenced this same Songhai Muslim scholar. The word Yoruba came from him and was propagated by the likes of Ajayi Crowther into the 19th and early 20th century vocabulary.

Never ever in pre-colonial times did the people now known as Yoruba ever refered to themselves as Yoruba.

So that makes OP (me) to be 100% accurate in my assertion that the term Yoruba was coined by an Arab Muslim foriegner
I think you are just a slow illiterate. The Songhai scholar wrote about the Yoruba people he met. The same way the Europeans wrote about the Yoruba people they met. does that mean they also gave us the name? I have told you what it means. Even the OP of this thread gave the meaning when he wrote is as Oyoroba, and for you to be asking shows how retarded you are. Only Oyo people were referred to as Yoruba pre-colonial history.

the Ajayi Crowder you referenced talked about the first foreigner to document the name.

Or can you tell us what it means in Songhai?

The Oyo people. they are so proud of their oba to be called his people.

What does attending events have to do with anything. The fact they don't deny where they come from is enough proof for anybody with brain.

What does Yoruba mean in Yoruba?
The people of the Oba of Oyo. Because the Oba of Oyo was so popular in those days due to the influence of Oyo empire. It was used exclusively for Oyo people before it was generally accepted by the Yoruba.
