We're gonna have to come up with an appropriately regal title for Lil Wayne now. Weezy F. Baby just won't cut it when you surpass the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, for the record of most Billboard Hot 100 hits.
According to Billboard, thanks to his feature on the new Game song "Celebration," which debuted at #82 this week, Wayne set the new high point for the most Hot 100 entries at 109, passing the 108 posted by the late rock king between 1958 and 2003.
Though the "Glee" cast has totaled 204 entries on the Hot 100 since 2009, Wayne holds the artist title, mostly thanks to his many, many features on other people's songs. In fact, only 39 percent (42) of the rapper's solo hits account for his total, with the other 61 percent (67) made up of his features on songs by pals including Juvenile, Destiny's Child and Birdman. Presley, on the other hand, was listed as the lead artist on all 108 of his chart hits and he still holds the title for most Hot 100 entries by a lead solo artist. For now, he's easily ahead of the artists behind him, which include James Brown (91), Aretha Franklin (73) and Ray Charles (72).
Presley might easily have sealed the crown forever had some of his biggest hits not been released before the Hot 100 chart was established. According to Billboard, Elvis had 31 songs on the pre-Hot 100 chart between 1956 and 1958, including such smashes as "Heartbreak Hotel," "Don't Be Cruel" and "Hound Dog."
Presley's reign lasted from the time the Hot 100 was established on August 4, 1958 through October 4, 2003, while Wayne managed to pass the king's total over 13 years and three months, with his first charting song hitting the week of July 10, 1999, when he was just 18. The recogniation of Wayne's new high-water mark comes on the rapper's 30th birthday, which he is celebrating today. The only other contemporary artist on the list is Jay-Z, who clocked in at #8 with 71 charting singles.

Days before the iPhone 5's release in the Netherlands, two jokesters in Amsterdam decided to have a little fun with a clever iPhone 5 prank that played on Apple fans' emotions.
Two pranksters from website iPhone5.nl superglued an iPhone 5 facedown onto a street in the middle of Leidseplein, a busy square in the center of Amsterdam, Yahoo! News reports. They positioned a hidden camera to capture the reactions, and needless to say, the results were hilarious.
Passersby who fell for the iPhone 5 prank attempted to snatch the device off the ground in a variety of ways. Some tried to pull at the phone before realizing it was glued to the street; others attempted to inconspicuously grab the phone without anyone seeing; and a few even got aggressive and began kicking and stomping on the device. Of course, others played along and took photos with the superglued phone.
The prank was not complete without a bit of self-promotion, however. The folks over at iPhone5.nl wrote on the sidewalk in chalk "order @ iphone.nl."
As of Tuesday morning, the iPhone 5 prank had more than 1.2 million views on YouTube.

A French court on Tuesday awarded Loic Secher (photo) nearly 800,000 euros in damages after he was wrongly convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl and incarcerated for seven years. Secher said he felt "destroyed" and "ruined" by his time in prison.


A French court Tuesday ordered nearly 800,000 euros to be paid in compensation to a former farm worker who spent more than seven years in prison after being falsely convicted of child rape.

Loic Secher, 51, is only the seventh person to have a wrongful conviction overturned in France since 1945. He had been demanding 2.4 million euros ($3 million) in damages.

Secher had spent seven years and three months in prison after a 14-year-old girl accused him of raping her. He was sentenced in 2003 to 16 years in jail.

The alleged victim retracted her accusation in 2008 and Secher was acquitted two years later, emerging from prison in April 2010.

His lawyers said he suffered violence at the hands of his fellow prisoners and had attempted suicide.

The court in the northwestern city of Rennes also ordered Secher's mother to be paid 50,000 euros in damages and awarded a sum of 30,000 euros to each of his three siblings.

Secher, who had consistently proclaimed his innocence, has said he felt "destroyed" and "ruined" by his time in prison.

"There can be no price put on compensation for what he went through," said Jean-Pierre Chesne, who headed a group seeking Secher's acquittal.
