Nigeria is a big mistake that never should have happened. Hausa hating Ibos n Yorubas and vice versa. May Sango, Amadioha and Ogun continue to torture those who brought about this contraption called Nigeria (Lugard and his mistress) in the afterlife for all eternity... |

Read carefully. Also, try and read the Cabotage act of 2010. *unfollows thread* |

0monnakoda: They are NOT allowed ? Please you who are so knowledgeable please tell us how you know this no long story EVIDENCE PLEASE.Perhaps its allowed in Antwerp, Montreal or wherever you were deported from, but not in Nigeria. Nigerian Local Content Development Laws ensures that only locally owned vessels are allowed to trade on Nigerian inland waters... |
I don't believe that these guys are speaking for the Igbo youths. They are just looking for a way to make noise so that they can be settled. As much as it pains me, come 2015, I'd still vote for GEJ. Not because I believe in him or anything but because he'd be keeping that Tinuibu/Buhari clique out of there. I'd rather have a clueless president than a crook and a fanatic |
0monnakoda: Lol Why does the government keep deceiving them. Which international shipper will allow his container ship to leave the high sea and enter Nigeria.Even if there is one crazy enough he will not find an Insurer that stupid.Next thing you will hear is they kidnapped the shipInternational ships are not allowed in inland waters. Stop brandishing your ignorance to the world. |
I watched the movie, Matrix 1 again recently and i cant remember them explaining why Neo and co couldnt get beamed back to their ships using their mobile phones, why it had to be landlines. #JustWondering# |

Gunzilla: Okay,so I decided to weigh in on this “Child Marriage” debate going on in Nigeria right now.I know it’s largely a waste of time, because the average intelligence of most Nairalanders is that of a gnat and most of you have made up your narrow minds without verifying any fact.Yes I’m talking about people like Delors,Kamsy10,Julieeccentric(smh)Fitzy4real that just read the headlines on newspapers and just run with it.Of course, just quote 1 or 2 sections of d constitution and everything will be alright, paedophilia is justified. What u agreed d@ is wrong is now automatically alright. I figure d@ u just saw dose sections of d law d@ u quoted in an article somwhr and decided 2 copy and paste it on nairaland so as 2 feel smart. Well, I hav read d@ section of d constitution extensively as well. I read it b4 I made any comment. Law is all about context, it has nw been accepted in d context of renunciation of citizenship. It won't be long b4 dey'll start pushing 4 it in d context of marriage which is exactly what Mr. Yerima wz interested in. If you have read his defence, u'd know w@ I'm talking abt. |
klickstar: Honestly after watching mikels performance @ afcon and confed am convinved that Nigeria midfield still has a brighter hope he was a dynamic player despite losing the match against spain i single handedly honourned him with man of the match he render the likes of xavi, iniesta, busquet useless in the game.mikel please leave for Gods sake else mourinho will change you to fulltime defender you still have a long way to go you are not yet a pensioner. So u'd rada hav Mikel play as an attacking midfieler fo Galatasaray, Celtic or Southampton than as a defensive midfielder for Chelsea How selfish of u![]() |
ablyguy: However Mikel plays he still a good player to me. My fear right now is that Moses is about to be Mourinhonized too...If Moses gets Mourinhonized, it'll be a good thing. Afterall, Ronaldo, Di Maria, Ozil etc. all became better players after getting Mourinhonized... |
justsayemma: To me he is just over celebrated, because sentiment has blinded us in dis country.a player that came 2nd after Messi in 2005,now its impossible 2 compare them,he was in a top flight club b4 Yaya,Tiote,n Song, now can we compare them? Whch club has bid 4 him after Chelsea made d mistake? Even Babayaro,Olofijana n co,scored, won matches,n man of matches for their clubs, has Mikel ever don dat? I think his peak was 2005.I knw som certain people from a certain part of Nigeria will attack me,m ready wit facts.Since u decided 2 call names, let me call some names as well; Taye Taiwo came 3rd but I don't hear u critisizing him (Isaac Promise, Owoeri, Ogbuke etc were all among d top rated players @ d@ tournament. There are also other Nigerians d@ have done well in under-age tournaments (Chrisantus, Lukman Haruna, Stanley Okoro, Sani Emmanuel etc). They were all among the top players in deir time but where r they now Mikel deserves praise 4 re-inventing himself in another position. He deserves 2 b commended 4 d fact d@ he is able 2 command a regular shirt @ a top club like chelsea. Nigerians shud learn 2 appreciate him more, as well as d man who gave him d opportunity 2 make d@ transition. A Madrid Fan |
Thank you @OP. U've said it all. |
Europe to ban oil stolen from Nigeria at Monday, July 22, 2013 The European Parliament is set to stop the purchase of stolen oil from Nigeria in Europe. Any crude oil meant to be sold in the European market is now to be accompanied with a certificate of origin. This was one of the landmark decisions taken at the meeting of the members of the African, Caribbean, Pacific Parliaments and their European Union counterparts (ACP-EU) at the conclusion of their three-day regional meeting in Abuja last week. Mitchell Rivasi (Acting Co- President ACP- EU) and Joyce Laboso (Co- Secretary General) told reporters that the need to stop the huge loss of Nigeria’s oil to organised syndicates of oil thieves necessitated the decision. The Federal Government said last week after the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting that 400, 000 barrels of oil, an equivalent of N7.3million, is lost daily to oil thieves. Rivasi Said: “We want to ban European refineries from buying un-certificated oil. 400, 000 barrels a day is a huge loss. We need to get traceability of oil to avoid theft. The oil companies are involved in this and everybody is making big money. “The bunkering tankers are better equipped than the Nigerian Navy, This is a huge international organised crime. We did it with diamond; we can also do it with oil.” According to her, the country would have been better off if ithad functional refineries. “Could someone please explain whyyou don’t have refineries in Nigeria?” She asked, describing Nigeria as a “paradox”. “There is a paradox in Nigeria. There’s a seven per cent growth in the economy, but growth and employment are not going hand-in-hand. We need to respond to this paradox.” Rivasi also said she would insist that the Boko Haram issue beincluded in the communique. “They kill people and burn churches. The international community has to help and this issomething that is not reflected (in the communique). We must say that they should anticipate or pre-empt before the situation gets worse or deteriorate.” Rivasi, who is from France, recalled that Boko Haram captured a French family. “This problem, we need on the onehand to use force because these are people that kill civilians and rob banks, attack police stations and steal arms. There is a high level of inequality in Nigeria; some are super rich and others live on less than two dollars daily. We must provide jobs.” Responding to a question on the planned £3000 visa bond proposed by the United Kingdom, she said: “We (Europe) have unemployment of more than 12 per cent; others 20 and Spain 57. We are trying to get you to develop in your own country. People should be able to develop in their own country.” According to her, this could be done by funding small-scale industries. The communique issued at the end of the meeting reads: “With particular regard to the Nigerian oil industry, Membersstressed the need to ensure that the revenues generated from the extractive industry are distributed transparently and equitably through the national budget in order to contribute to sustainable development and poverty reduction. “Members also expressed concern at the high rates of oil thefts, wastage and illegal bunkering which lead to substantialrevenue losses and environmental degradation. Members called on the Nigerian government to put in place appropriatemechanisms and measures to fight against this organised crime.” House of Representatives Speaker Aminu Tambuwal solicitedthe support of the international parliaments in addressing oil theft. He said: “We ask for you to support Nigeria’s effort in addressing the issue of oil theft. Here, we will come up with stiff legislation against it. But the oil is being taken out and isgoing to other places. If possible, we require very stiff legislation from the European Union and other countries that are destination for the oil. It has very high negative impact onthe economy and by extension, the people.” Tambuwal said West Africa had been facing a lot of security issues. “Here in Nigeria, we have taken extreme measures to ensure there is peace. As a parliament, we are supporting the executive through legislation, especially on the issue of funding.” The ACP-EU meeting was attended by 20 lawmakers (12 from Africa and eight from Europe). |

Miss Nigeria takes campaign against child marriage to Reps at Tuesday, July 23, 2013 Miss Nigeria Akudo Ezinne Anyaoha plans to petition the House of Representatives over child marriage. The Law graduate of Abia State University, Uturu will present a petition, in which she describes child marriage as a violation of human rights. She said: “These children are not prepared for the tedious demands of marriage and family life. Supporting underage marriage will keep relegating the girl-child to the backgroundand will also reduce her chances of being educated to liberate herself. “Child marriage perpetuates poverty and leads to poor health as children will not only be withdrawn from their peers but will also have psychological trauma and physical challenges, such as Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF).” The beauty queen, who in the next few weeks will launch herpet project, said she is determined to use her office to fight sexual violence. According to her, child marriage is not only harmful to the girl-child but also to the family, community and the nation, because it stifles development. Miss Anyaoha urged Nigerians to unite against child marriage. “This is the right time for all well-meaning Nigerians to come out and speak against this shameful act. This is because it will go a long way to derail the current Transformation Agenda of the current administration and subsequently place the Nigerian girl far behind her peers across the world. “I want to urge the House of Representatives to follow the path of honour by rejecting this particular clause during their clause-to-clause consideration of the amended part of the constitution,” she added. |
babagy82: Sorry for your f***king self uWhat a pity... |
I think the Rivers State youths who protested against the visiting northern governors were just being dumb. What was their plan? What did they hope to achieve? I say this because these hausa guys are very volatile. They could have decided to use this as a reason to start a riot and kill southerners living in the north. #justsaying# |
phildon: That is Nigeria and her gullible youths for you. I think the Senator's explanation is just too clear. If you have anything against Senator Yerima, I think it's entirely a different issue. If you actually believe this guy, you deserve an award for your gullibility... Most Gullible Youth in Nigeria (MGYN) |
delors: Bros, noooooooooooo! I restrained from this very strong temptation to call you a name. I am a changed individualU've spoken very well, but this is too much for his tender brain to comprehend... |
babagy82: Yes they voted for underage girls to be married, so what?? even if they vote for or against underage marriage, young girls must marry. We are in Nigeria where things dont always work constitutionally. I cant marry a girl who is below 20yrs of age, but i dont see anything wrong if someone marries a girl of below 18. Adultery and fornication is very bad in islam, and the best way to protect your self from commiting those sins is by getting married if you have the means, thats what our religion tought us. Lets Stop decieving ourselves, if i go to my village an then married a girl of 16yrs what will happen? Who will punish me for that? A senator married a 13 yr old girl what happened? Was he asked to resign? When goodluck removed fuel subsidy people protested, many lost there lives those that bring the price of PMS bask to 65 naira? This is another waste of time e-warriors. Find something more productive to do.I'm just so sorry for you... |
ola_pluto: Well understood Senator. We know those who jump on bandwagon are not the intelligent ones. That Section 29 NEVER mentioned or endorsed child marriage. As long as it serves some emergency activists purpose, they conveniently twisted the whole thing. Stella Damascus even made a video highlighting her misinformation. Many cosmetic activists on twitter, facebook and even here on nairaland needed to get busy, so they picked on Yerima. When they all settle down to digest the bill, I hope the reasonable ones among them will retract and apologize.I guess u were feeling like a well informed smartass as u wrote this crap. What u failed 2 understand is that legislations like this one is all about context. Now that it has been accepted in this context, it wouldn't be long before they start arguing to make it legitimate in the context of marriage which is why it wz only northerners, one Edo state paedophile and ur friend above that voted in favour. P/s: I also suggest that u read Yerima's defence so that u would understand what he had in mind when he called for that vote... |
I just started watching Friends again recently and just like before, its still hard for me to pick a favourite character. But I think that if someone put a gu..n to my head and forced me to choose, I'd pick Phoebe... Who's your pick?

Arrested Osun Goat Dies In Custody Posted by @vickyiests The five goats arrested by the Osun State Waste Management Agency (OWMA) in Osogbo last week were onTuesday dragged before an Osogbo Magistrate Court along side their owners. Three owners of the goats including Mrs. Aduke Adetona, Mrs. Esther Ibikunle and Adedoyin Adetayo were docked, while the goats were not allowed into the court hall but kept in the premises of the court. The court presided over by Mrs. A. O. Ajanaku discharged Mrs. Adetayo, who had already lost her goat in the custody of OWMA and ordered other accused persons to pay N2, 500 fine to the coffers of the state government. The court pardoned one of the owners, Mrs. Adedoyin Adetayo whose goat had died, but warned her to comply strictly with the provisions of the state environmental laws and the rules of OWMA. The court ruled that the accused persons violated article 101,cap 11 of the laws of Osun State, which prohibited birds andother animals from straying into residential areas. The prosecutor, Mr. Femi Ogunbamiwo who is also the Director of Environmental Management and Sanitation in OWMA told the court that the accused persons committed an offence contrary to and punishable under the environmental laws of the state. Mr. Ogunbamiwo told the court that the accused persons committed the offence on January 5, 2013 by allowing animals under their control to stray into public domain in a manner that was injurious to the health of the public. Counsel to the accused persons, Mr. Jimoh Daramola pleaded with the court to be lenient with his clients and temper justice with mercy, adding that the accused persons would henceforth obey the laws of the state. Article 101, cap2 of the 2002 Laws of Osun State, which was passed by the state House of Assembly states that: “No bird or animal shallbe allowed to stray to any road or public place or urinate or defecate in any public place in the state.” The Special Adviser to the governor on Environment, Mr. Bola Ilori who spoke with reporters after the court session urged residents to keep their pets in a cage to prevent violation of the state environmental laws and guide against transmission of diseases from animal to man. http://gidibase.com/2013/01/19/arrested-osun-goat-dies-in-custody/ |
After School Hours... It didn't make me cry but it scared the living shi''t out of me... |
Normal is boring. Humans don't enjoy things that are just normal. That's why today in Nigeria, we see some of our law-makers fighting to legalise under-age marriage. There was a time when promiscuity and pre-marital se..x was heavily frowned upon. It later became normal and then guess what? People started becoming gay. Yes, homose..xuality has been a part of humanity for ages, but, they started coming out public. It wasn't a thing to be hidden anymore. They started clamouring for rights, they got it. In some countries, marriage has even become legal. Now, I think that being gay is now normal, and like I earlier stated, normal is boring. Thus, perverted people have moved over to child molestation. Yes, it has been around for a long time, but no one can deny that there has been a rise in the number of cases reported in recent years. This has now degenerated to a level where our law-makers are now seeking to legalise it by exploiting a clause in our constitution that is reserved for the renunciation of citizenship (read Chapter III, Section 29). That chapter talks only about citizenship and Section 29 talks only about renunciation of citizenship. Sub-section (1) of section 29 states that "Any citizen of Nigeria of full age who wishes to renounce his Nigerian citizenship shall make a declaration in the prescribed manner for the renunciation". Sub-section (4) of that same section goes further to define full age by stating that "For the purposes of subsection (1) of this section. (a) "full age" means the age of eighteen years and above; (b) any woman who is married shall be deemed to be of full age." Some honourable persons have now exploited this loop hole in our constitution and can now use it to define a 12 year old girl child as a full aged woman when the age of consent according to our constitution is 16. Thus, a married girl of 13 can now be considered a woman while an un-married girl of 16 is still considered a child. Well, it isn't a surprise. Afterall, this is Nigeria. A country where 16 is bigger than 19, 5 than 27, a few bigger than 200 million. Who knows what will come next after under-age marriage has become normal? We can only speculate about that. GOD BLESS NIGERIA... |

I am dazed.Firstly there is no local content law that confers exclusivity on Nigerian firms ; that is a silly lie.The only local content laws indicate that a certain proportion of business should accrue to local firms WHERE PRACTICABLE. This is nothing to do with waterway access.Instead of you to admit you were wrong you start manufacturing facts childishly.
