Politics / Re: Port Harcourt Bus Explosion Was Robbery Not Boko Haram- Governor Rotiimi Amaechi by fizzyshoes: 3:13pm On May 17, 2012
nairawall: River State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has after an on the spot visit to the scene of a bomb blast in Port Harcourt, the River State capital, confirmed that the blast which occurred there earlier today was not a terrorist attack from Boko Haram but a robbery incident gone bad.

Apparently, tow robbery suspects and their driver were on the way to their intended target with some dynamite in the car which went off apparently due to their smoking cigarettes in the car.

Also, Governor Amaechi revealed that the robbery suspects did not die as it was only their driver who was killed in the explosion. Both suspects are now in a hospital where they are under observation.

true talk, i fully agree. there is a saying that " when opportunity meets preparedness(planning), they give birth to success". thats why its easier to succeed in a place like America, because opportunity is already there, one would only need to prepare himself to seize it and make the best use of it. i hope our country will one day be a land of equal opportunity for everyone and not just for a few privileged.
hahaha! Your thought your believe is who you are. Opportunities are created by people like you and me.

you are not being realistic, you can sit down in your comfortable house and say anything sweet to the ears, but if you have been in a situation where you tried everything you know to do and you dont have the favourable circumstance and opportunities to actualise what you know, then maybe you'll understand life better. i work among some remote villagers who are farmers, so i understand the situation i'm talking about. if its easy to make one's way prosperous, then why are so many religious people still poor in Nigeria. cant they simply apply the knowledge and make themselves prosperous. its more than knowledge, my dear brother, it has more to do with opportunities, without which little can be done, no matter the knowledge you acquire. so one should just thank God for his opportunities and stop saying its because of his knowledge and efforts that he's not poor. i'm not jusifying poverty; i'm just strongly against the prosperity pastors that says poverty is a poor man's choice, ITS A BIG LIE.
they just want to blame the victim for his predicament and make people feel like they can control everything as if they are God.
if you take your time and discover your potentials than you will know that poverty is a choice. Many people are wasting there time beating around the bush instead of looking means by which the can unfold there hidden potentials. Believe me or not what you need in life to succeed is in you, any battle you can not win in your heart you will never win it fiscal.

1. you said we should think about this and you didn't leave us anything worth thinking about.
2. if poverty is a choice why are most nigerians (who are incidentally very religious) still poor. cant they simply "look ahead" and see as far as they can see. how come only the prosperity preachers have this ability to "look ahead"
3. why do you think God was talking about money when He was talking to Moses. nigerian prosperity preachers are very good at interpreting scriptures to mean just about anything they want it to mean.
4. if poverty is a choice. then you can choose anything that happens to you. you can choose to be born to a rich family, choose to live in the best economy in the world, choose that rain will not disturb your plans etc. is that true? i need ur answer.
well this is a free world you can understand things the way you want, anyhow you want, the way you want it is your choice, my statement may not be for you because in life you believe what you want. All we need in life to be reach is in us. Try and discover your potentials and make good use it.

Our eyes are placed in front because it's more important to look ahead than to look back. Poverty is a choice because God told moses as far as you can see so shall it be onto you. Think about that.

Religion / Re: The Importance Of Studying The Word Of God (the Bible) by fizzyshoes: 1:32pm On Apr 22, 2012
oludyke: In our last message, we considered the four characteristics of the Bible: authority, clarity, necessity and sufficiency. The Bible is God’s original message to humanity and the only infallible witness to God’s saving activity for all people. All that God wants us to know about Him are in the Bible. All that is needed for our salvation and closer walk with Him are there. The Bible is not only true when it speaks of salvation, ethical values and morality, but it is also without error on all subjects about which it speaks including history and the cosmos. This is because the Bible is God-breathed (2 Pet 1:20-21; 2 Tim 3:16-17). It is without error, absolutely true, trustworthy and infallible. God’s Word must be received, believed and obeyed as the final authority in all things pertaining to life and godliness (Mt 5:17-19; John 14:21; 15:10; 2 Tim 3:15-16). It must be used in the church as the final authority in all matters for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteous living (2 Tim 3:16-17). One cannot submit to Christ’s lordship without submitting to God and His Word as the ultimate authority (John 8:31-32, 37). It is important to note that the Bible can only be understood when we are in a right relation to the Holy Spirit.
The church has the responsibility to safeguard the true and original apostolic doctrine found in Scripture and commit unto others without compromise or corruption. It is important for believers to study the Bible for the following reasons:
1. To know, guard and teach true Biblical faith and God’s righteous standards (2 Tim 3:15; 1 Tim 4:6,11; Rom 6:17)
2. To show us the vital necessity for us to contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 3) by providing the means by which to defend the faith against all false theologies (Acts 20:31).
3. To lead believers into continual growth in character through Godly teaching (Jos 1:8; Ps 1:2-3; 119:97-100; Mt 28:20; John 17:14-18).
4. To equip believers to strengthen and bring to maturity other believers so that together we may reflect Christ’s image in the home, the church and the society (Eph 4:11-16).
5. To bring believers to a deeper understanding and experience of God’s kingdom on earth and its conflict against the forces of evil (Eph 6:10-18).
6. To motivate believers through the eternal truths of the gospel to be wholeheartedly committed to evangelising and preaching the gospel to all creature (Mt 28:18-20; Mk 16:15-20).
7. It deepens our experience of Christ’s love, personal fellowship and the exercise of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (John 17:3,21,26; Eph 3:18-19).
Studying the Bible is a continuous and an un-ending training that all believers undergo while here on earth. True Biblical training emphasises true righteousness and not mere apprehension of Biblical facts and truths. The truths in the Bible are redemptive truths and not academic postulations. A personal response is required by all those who study the Bible as these are issues involving life or death (Jas 2:17; Phi 1:9).

God bless you.
. True talk my brother.
