daveP: One definite mistake of Arteta was returning Jesus right back to the XI. I can't even recall the last time he converted after 2 chances again. Smh. That was a mistake. Kane coming to this XI would mean we need to change the entire setup and return to counter attack football. We are possession based and can't crack down defences that sit back comfy. That's why most passes are between Gabriel-Partey-White than Odegaard-Saka-Xhaka. Everyone now knows they easily pass back will small pressure than risk a crack down. Jesus is a Lacazette type of striker, they make the attack flow, but they don't bury chances...their type requires a different kind of striker to come off the bench and change things up. |

How can I plan to make 5M, then already seeing myself almost getting 10M, and later on consoling myself for not making the 10M since 5M was the target. |

Even if arsenal reach final once we no win....some people go lament. Na eem dem hammer Real madrid....na the same real Coach wey win am last year oh.
Una so una lament for Wenger.
Wenger sef reach UCL final.
U see person dey score 53 goals for a team.
U think say na ordinary. Una wan 20 years old Saka to die for pitch because una no carry EPL. Neither of two are sides are BOTTLERS, Inter Won the league when the opportunity presents itself few years ago..City are also known to kill teams....I don't trust City to lose the final 4-1, it is what Arsenal can do. Madrid are allowed to lose, they are serial semi and finalist and Winners in UCL.. The management should have utilized Saka well, no replacement nothing nothing |

After defeating Lyon and Fc Porto at 2nf round and Quarters, those are strength to Strength games, you could win, but losing a 4-0 lead? mostob: Jodera, UCL and EPL are different competitions. If Arsenal should reach the semi final of the UCL next season and lose to Madrid or even Bayern, the players will be applauded. That is it. You can't compare both scenarios. You can't lead Madrid, Barca and Bayern with 5-0 in first leg then bottle it in 2nd leg with a 6-0 loss and you tell me I should applaud? I won't...that's weakness Normally those teams are favorite but when the opportunity presents itself, then grab it...that's what some teams do |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Fkhalifa(m): 6:33pm On May 16, 2023 |
Jodera: Lol... The way most guys here wailed last season when we lost out on top 4, you'd think we'll never make Top4 again. In fact, if few of us have any power then, dem for sack Arteta forgetting how the team played and that just few quality additional players and we'll get into top 4. We fail to see the bigger picture sometimes.
The issue is that you're comparing Arsenal of latter Wenger years to this one. Those ones were serial bottlers and most of the time not ambitious except one or two players all due to the mediocrity Wenger allowed. In fact, that 2nd position we took was a fluke cos I know when other big teams sit up, we'll be done for. That team was on a downward slope and the last decades proved so
This arsenal is different. It's on an upward drive that needs few quality additions to become quality challengers again. I wonder how you didn't see it when you were one of those who saw Liverpool's upward drive under Klopp even before he won his first trophy.
The only reason dem Saka and Odegaard would go is if arsenal and Arteta decides to show no ambition.
So far for the bolded, I don't see such cycle repeating itself soon 1st paragraph.... I insist both this Arterta and the previous Arsenal sides still lacked that killer instinct to achieve the big prize at hand, it has always been let's take positives... 2nd para This Arterta side have also bottled Europa, Top4 and EPL 3rd para It didn't take Liverpool too long before they won those big prizes ( Top4, EPL and UCL) If Saka and Odegard sees it's just all near success, they would jump ship to big winning sides. |

Jodera: This is the long and short of my thoughts and opinions.
Calling Arteta or the team a failure as if they did a disgraceful something I don't just understand. This is just branding all their efforts in vain or refuse to see the progress just because they punched above their weight.
If it's from rival fans, it's understandable. If It's pouring out your grievances and disappointment, it's understandable.
But trolling your own team for trying to win the ultimate goal but it didn't happen? C'mon!! Arsenal can make their most die hard fans troll them...I have seen/read lots of fans doing so ... It's quite disgraceful to lose the league in that manner, it eventually depict the Elephant story of trollers.. I was expecting the team to let City work for it till the last day, but Alas.. .0-3 loss at home in a 3 games to go. As it is, Many fans would lose confidence in the team in achieving top target prize... But some cool fans would still keep singing " We try we come again next year". Don not be surprised if Saka, Martineli's and Odegard all respond to big clubs who can help them land big trophies... And that has been the Arsenal story over the years, Build, almost there, lose key players, recycled pattern again and again. |

They are good, they beat Brighton2-4 earlier this season... The thing is Arterta and the club didn't plan well for the tail end of the season... You had a chance to win the league this season and you bottled it but we’re suppose to be satisfied since you overachieved cause the aim is top4? Roland17: You want to know if Arsenal bottled the league?
For the first time this season, majority of the fans left the stadium after we conceded the 3rd goal. The stadium was blank.
I wonder if those ones feel we are overachievers since the league was not the goal and agreement. Only if Leicester had reasoned like that, they wouldn't have been crowned champs that year This near success syndrome at Arsenal is something I can't understand... So close to UCL in 2006 So close to EPL in 2008 So close to Carling Cup of ending trophy drought in 2011 So close to Europa 2018 So close to 4th 2022 So close to EPL 2023... Incoming Rice I do t like this guy, I don't think he's worth 100m atleast 50m Lavia or caicedo is better alternative or d.sow of Frankfurt We need a winger to compete with saka badly We need another RCB We should try to get vlahovic I think we need him now I trust edu and arteta to spend wisely atleast their transfers have been 8/10 Any update on tielemans and the Frankfurt defender that's coming on free transfer? Elneny joining coaching crew Man is the oldest serving player in the squad, he deserves a job at the Emirates .#loyal and decent servant |

iamoyindamola: Squawka
Arsenal are the first team in Europe's top five divisions to have four players reach 10+ league goals this season:
◉ Bukayo Saka ◉ Gabriel Martinelli ◉ Martin Ødegaard ◉ Gabriel Jesus
The Gunners have serious firepower. 💥
This is what you get when you have all attackers creating, assisting and scoring as against waiting for a No9 that would be lurking around the box for a tap-in.... The No9 would then take the glory for all the team as the only savior, whereas in the bigger picture, he isn't making the attack sharp enough.

Roland17: I agree with you but I think if he gets to a big club where he is allowed to build his own team he will succeed. But, that is usually difficult in Big teams because Big teams control transfers in and out of the club. Saka would have disappeared or remained relatively unknown if not for Ebening. Ebening was consistent in the development of young players while he was with us. Development of young players is a key to squad depth. |
