aribisala0: You came out of nowhere to show that you know I did not talk to you What has UK got to do with anything?
The maximum rate for high income earners in Nigeria is 30% If you are a high income eaner and live in Nigeria 183 days a year you pay 30%
If you bet online and win If the platform withholds 24% tax then he would be liable for 6% in Nigeria . That is a standard online rate
WHETHER HE IS US CITIZEN IS IRRELEVANT Won't waste my time reading your tosh. |
Celebrities › Re: Davido Win $96k With $25k Stake In Nigeria Vs Tanzania Match - Photos by Flangelo12: 10:12pm On Dec 23, 2025 |
aribisala0: Did you read the story about Anthony Joshua recent fight
Not everything is ego
You Obviously have no clue and are arguing blindly
I don't know David's residence
If he lives in Nigeria for 183 days or more he is a Nigerian tax resident and so must file a return in Nigeria on his worldwide income
If the US site has withheld tax then the Nigerian authorities look at the rate In Nigeria the maximum rate I think is 30% If the US rate on winnings is higher than 30% he will get a credit on the rest of his earnings If less he will owe If there was no tax withheld by the platform he will be liable for 30% in Nigeria if resident
You mentioned UK there is no tax on winnings but if resident in Nigeria winnings have to be declared and will be taxed . Just writing rubbish. Grow up. |

aribisala0: I did not say there is a Nigerian platform taking bets in dollars How is that relevant Citizenship is also not relevant to paying tax in Nigeria I don't think you are getting it If you live in Nigeria for 183 days or more in a year you are required to file a return outlining ALL YOUR INCOME Gambling income is declared too
What is your point? Master of circumlocution. You're trying badly to tie the fact that Davido would pay tax on his winnings to Nigeria. Big NO. He would pay tax for his winnings because he staked on an American platform called Stake. He's also American. |
Celebrities › Re: Davido Win $96k With $25k Stake In Nigeria Vs Tanzania Match - Photos by Flangelo12: 9:44pm On Dec 23, 2025 |
aribisala0: That is a related but different issue They are not the same thing America requires all their citizens to file a tax return regardless of tax residency
Some countries have double taxation treaties
But the law in most countries is if you are resident you also file a tax return
Also I don't know whether non US citizens are exempt from tax on gambling winnings
However in Nigeria if you are resident you are now required to declare all earnings and are liable to tax There is no Nigerian platform that takes bets in Dollars. Stakes is an American platform. Davido has both American and Nigerian citizenship. He would pay tax on his winnings. |

If you live in Nigeria ie tax residency = 183 days or more Your worldwide income is taxable in Nigeria But UK not in the equation If you are an American citizen you would pay tax for your winnings. |

Who is holy or claimed to be holy amongst Nigerian Christians?
So because he’s against genocide against Nigerian Christians, he should open his country’s gates to all Nigerian Christians? Why?
Or have you seek for asylum as a genocidal Christian and you were denied?
Saudi Arabia and other Arabian countries advocated against the killings in Gaza. How many Palestinians did they open their gates for?

Dear L. N.
As you know by now, I have taken the “short route” home. Good luck! We shared one thing… our love & caring for young ladies at the hope they’d reach their full potential.
Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to “grab snatch,” whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system.
Life is unfair.
Yours J. Epstein
