If some one schools in the East, let's say IMSU and resides in Lagos, considering that the scholarship test was written around september last year,is it advisable to put lagos or owerri as preferred test centre since the school will be vacating by july? Do u think that these companies consult the schools and know when they are in session or not before they can schedule a test date? Your opinion(s) please? ebsuguy: everybody stop making noise......total normally shortlist 2 or a day to the exam......so either u get the text may23 or may24.......except they av changed d format....so get back to school nd read to boost ur gp nd stop giving ur self tachycardiaRIGHT!! |

TODAY'S WORD FOR TODAY BE REAL ‘…Beware of…hypocrisy.’ Luke 12:1 2013-03-26. The word ‘hypocrisy’ could be translated as ‘hype.’ And hype, no matter how religious it is, is only a charade. Jesus denounced it. Speaking about the religious leaders of His day, He said: ‘…Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops’ (vv. 1-3 NKJV). Why was Jesus so hard on hypocrites? Because hypocrisy accuses in others what it excuses in us, says one thing but does another, puts popularity above principle, loves admiration but cuts corners when it comes to integrity. Take Peter, for example. He preached that all people are equal in Christ, but he practised it selectively. And Paul confronted him on it. ‘When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong. Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray. When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth…I [spoke] to Peter in front of them all…’ (Galatians 2:11-14 NIV). God understands your weaknesses and He will work with you on them, but He won’t put up with your hypocrisy. So be real! Exodus 12:1-14, 1 Corinthians 11:23-29, Psalm 69:7-21 , Deuteronomy 21:22-23 TODAY'S PRAYER - FROM PRAYER FOR TODAY MAGAZINE GODLY HOUSEHOLDS We have been adopted into God’s family; we are the Bride of Christ. Ask God to strengthen Christian parents, that they may provide spiritual wisdom and teach their children Godly principles and values. TODAY'S WORD FOR TODAY THE ‘BLESSED’ MAN AND WOMAN ‘Blessed is the man who…’ Psalms 1:1 2013-03-24. Here’s a scriptural key to being blessed: ‘Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly…But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper’ (vv. 1-3 NKJV). A ‘blessed’ man or woman tends to stand out because their character is deeper, their ideas fresher, their spirit softer, their courage greater, their leadership better, their concerns wider, their compassion more genuine, and their convictions more concrete. They’re joyful in spite of difficult circumstances, and show wisdom far beyond their years. And they are full of surprises; you think you have them boxed in, but they turn out to be unpredictable. When you’re around them you feel slightly off balance because you don’t know what to expect next. Over time you realise that their ideas and actions can be trusted. Why? Because they have a spiritual root system that goes down to streams of living water. Consequently, what they put their hand to ‘prospers.’ And you can live this way. How? By setting your spiritual priorities in concrete. The arch enemy of spiritual growth is busyness, which is closely tied to something the Bible calls ‘worldliness’—getting caught up with society’s agenda to the neglect of walking with God. Whichever way you look at it, a key ingredient to prospering is—time. Not leftover time, not throwaway time, but quality time. Time for meditation; time for communication. Unhurried, uninterrupted time with God. Matthew 21:1-16 , Psalm 118:19-29 TODAY'S PRAYER - FROM PRAYER FOR TODAY MAGAZINE PRAYER & ME As we begin Holy Week, it’s a good time to think about how we want to mark Easter: not just the parties, the special events and the church services we’ll go to but also the space we want to make in our lives to meet with God. Jesus, Redeemer and Saviour, Help me not to let Easter pass me by in a whirlwind of activity this year, but to honour You with the time and attention Your sacrifice deserves. |

Hey guys, just ended my exam in school today and I want to apply. It's saying no current application. Total can't do this to me |
MARCH 2ND 2013 TODAY'S WORD FOR TODAY GROWING INTO LEADERSHIP (3) ‘The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge; the ears of the wise seek it out.’ Proverbs 18:15 The story’s told of two men out hunting, when one of them falls to the ground. He doesn’t seem to be breathing and his eyes are rolled back in his head. The other man whips out his mobile phone and calls 999. Frantically, he tells the operator, ‘Robert is dead! What can I do?’ The operator says, ‘Just take it easy. First let’s make sure he’s dead.’ There is silence, and then a shot is heard. The guy’s voice comes back on the line and says, ‘Okay, he’s dead, now what?’ When you are under pressure you can fail to hear what’s being communicated, and the results can be fatal. So: 1) In order to lead people you must first understand them. You must have insight into the human heart. Sensitivity toward the hopes and dreams of people is essential for connecting with people and motivating them. 2) Listening can keep problems from escalating. Good leaders are attentive to small issues. They pay attention to their intuition. Not only do they listen to what’s being said, they also hear what’s not being said. They are secure enough to ask for honest feedback, and not to become defensive when they receive it. 3) Listening establishes trust. Dr. David Burns, Adjunct Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Stanford University School of Medicine, said, ‘The biggest mistake you can make in trying to talk convincingly is to put your highest priority in expressing your own ideas and feelings. What people really want is to be listened to, respected, and understood. The moment they are, they become more motivated to understand your point of view.’ 1 Kings 18:16 - 20:43, Matthew 19:15-30, Psalm 66:1-12 , Proverbs 6:20-22 TODAY'S PRAYER - FROM PRAYER FOR TODAY MAGAZINE PRAYING FOR UCB UCB successfully distributed over 80,000 ‘Bags of Hope’ at Halloween, and over 75,000 at Christmas time. Pray that those who received them will understand the need for God in their lives, and will want to accept Jesus as their saviour. Pray that friends, family or members of a local church will follow up with them, and give them an opportunity to explore issues of faith. Pray that this valuable mission tool will keep growing in impact. |
1 MAR 2013 TODAY'S WORD FOR TODAY GROWING INTO LEADERSHIP (2) ‘Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me…’ Psalms 139:23 2013-03-01. In his Pogo cartoon strip, Walt Kelly said, ‘We have met the enemy, and he is us.’ The hardest person in the world to lead will always be yourself. Human nature seems to endow us with the ability to size up everybody except ourselves. After having a victorious Goliath experience, followed by a devastating Bathsheba experience, the Psalmist wrote, ‘Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life’ (vv.23-24 NLT). That’s a prayer you need to pray every day because we all have two problems. What are they? 1) We don’t see ourselves as we see others. If we don’t look at ourselves honestly and realistically, we will never understand where our personal difficulties lie. And if we can’t see them, we won’t be able to lead ourselves effectively. It’s said that Frederick the Great of Prussia met an old man who was walking ramrod straight in the opposite direction. ‘Who are you?’ Frederick asked. ‘I am a king,’ replied the old man. Frederick laughed. ‘Over what kingdom do you reign?’ Proudly the old man replied, ‘Over myself.’ 2) We are harder on others than we are on ourselves. We judge others according to their actions, while we tend to judge ourselves according to our intentions. When we do the wrong thing, we let ourselves off the hook because we believe our motives were good. And the problem is; we are usually willing to do that over and over before requiring ourselves to change! 1 Kings 16:1 - 18:15, Matthew 19:1-14, Psalm 61 , Proverbs 6:16-19 TODAY'S PRAYER - FROM PRAYER FOR TODAY MAGAZINE PRAYING FOR UCB UCB successfully distributed over 80,000 ‘Bags of Hope’ at Halloween, and over 75,000 at Christmas time. Pray that those who received them will understand the need for God in their lives, and will want to accept Jesus as their saviour.
