For me 'cane' hasn't yielded better results than 'words' used by the whites. All the areas we were flogged growing up , the whites tend to be doing much better. This kind of mentality forces private hospitals into demanding a certain amount to be paid before they attend to an emergency since Nigerians have learnt not to pay for hospital bills if the patient dies. Most private hospitals don't have mortuaries to withhold bodies like government hospitals. whether the patient died or not didn't change the fact that the hospital ran into expenses trying to save the life.
I hope an NGO, govt or an individual can help them pay up the bill, the child ailment must have drained the parents.
