SafariHunter:My brother the envy too much and he pass his boundary. |
You did the right thing by cutting off the friendship. I had a childhood friend like that too. We lived in the same compound, grew up together and were considered siblings. Though he was always hot headed growing up but we were fine. We grew up in a ghetto in Ajegunle where at a young age we watched bros smoke weed and even send us to buy weed for them. It was normal at the time but growing up I think that experience changed us in different ways. Some of our friends took to alcohol, cultism and drugs. About 3 became mentally unstable and we stayed far from them Then in 2010 during the rise of night clubs and lounge in the area, I noticed that this friend of mine started frequenting them and even visiting local brothels. I wasn't the type that goes and stay out late at night so I wasn't going with him. Fast forward to 2011 dude was already drunk. Taking huge number of alcohol on a daily then in 2012 cross over he started his smoking habits. That was when I decided to give him space. Fast forward to 2018 our worlds and reality changed. I left the area and when I returned I met a different person entirely. Joined cult gangs, always partying, drinking and smoking. Even on social media all he does is to talk about sex and tag me to it. The one that broke the camel's back was when he started making statements that sounded like envy... Statements like " you will have money you will not bring it for us to go and flex it", " mugu drink, no dey do like Jesus" then knowing fully well I just got married he said "mugu this your wife go sweet o" At that point I knew our worlds and reality has changed. It was no longer healthy for me to be around such person anymore. So my rent was still reading, infact I recently renewed the rent but I had to pack out of that environment entirely, changed my SIM, deactivated my socials and cut off every form of communication with him. Since 2019 till date I haven't seen or heard from him and it's cool with me |
When will house rent inflation drop? |
Naya261:I had a similar option. I got the admission and had 20mil in savings with other assets available to sell would have propelled my capital to above 35m. Then I looked at everything critical and choose to stay back and got married within a month of changing my mind. Several factors informed my decision. 1. I think it's crazy for me to spend so much and still have so much to still pay in school fees when I get there. 2. To me spending every hour working and thinking of bills to pay and also family to send money home is too much pressure for me. For these reasons I refused to proceed with japa plans and sincerely I don't regret it |
This is one thing I love about Lagos. As an Igbo, Lagos is the only all inclusive state in Nigeria where government treats everyone as equal whether Yoruba, igbo or any tribe. I schooled in Lagos public schools from primary to secondary and didn't know that waec is not free not until I went to South east for my tertiary education and was shocked to see that people were paying to write waec. All my life I thought waec is free of charge o. Only problem with Lagos is the divisive politics where tribal slurs are used and that is no thanks to our politicians and some brainless children but aside that, 100 over 100 I will pick Lagos over my state of origin |
You call that fight? Man beats a king cobra that slithered into his house mercilessly |
In a sane country your highest denomination should feed you for atleast a week but here we are arguing whether a bunch of plantain is cheap or not for 1k |
99thEnemy:Remove data analysis and science from your list as that is the first sector AI will eradicate. Data analysis plays to the strength of AI. Even at learning stage AI is very good at analysing data. Unless you can be better and faster than AI in that regard. |
Govt has no business building malls 😆 Create an enabling environment and private investors will troop in to build those malls and many more. As an Igbo I am not impressed. These governors should learn from Lagos templates. How many mall's have Lagos state govt built? Private investors built them and many more |
We saw this coming Like INEC like JAMB ![]() I am not disappointed a bit |
I keep saying it that unionism is one of the problems in Nigeria and as a govt I would have banned them since. Key to trading is price competition where I am allowed to sell at my own rate and profit margin but these unions fix the price and kills off all forms of competition. Especially in south west regions no wonder they barely progress in business because in south east these unions are not effective that is why Igbos have groups of people called Oso Ahia (dropshipping in English). Igbos have competitive prices. If Emeka imports from USA and sells his goods for 100k, Uchenna can goto the same USA to import his own and sell for 90k, Ebuka can goto china to import his and sell for 60k, Chibuzor can run to India to import his and sell for 50k then Emeka will be forced to review his prices, look for more cheaper suppliers to remain in the competition. That is how business should be but In south west you have all sorts of stupid unions fixing prices Barbers association Market women association Hairdressers association Pepper sellers association Mama put association Bus drivers association Orishirishi association You are not allowed to fix your prices, you are not allowed to operate your business unless you register with their association. I have seen a friend who is a hairdresser got his generator seized because he isn't in their association. I have seen someone's pos confiscated because he didn't register to join their stupid association. No wonder you goto price their market and next thing is they haul insults at you because they are not competitive and they know that the other shops won't reduced their price but an igbo man will keep bargaining with you to make sure you don't leave his shop to get it elsewhere even if it means selling that market for 1k profit he will make sure the deal closes. I know some of you blinded tribalists will be blinded to my points of view to come argue stupidly when you know the truth |
Reminds me of the trauma I just recovered from A female friend I met on Facebook came to visit me but almost died in my house. It wasn't a funny experience. So I have been friends this babe online for about 6yrs now. We've been talking on phone very well. This year she needed a job as things have been bad so she reached out to me about looking for a job and I began the search for her. She got an interview invite close to my side but she lives very far and asked if she could stay over at my place so she can arrive early at the interview venue. I told my fiancee about it and she approved and asked me to allow her to come around. She came around on Sunday evening, it was the first time we were meeting after over 6yrs of talking on phone. When she came we gisted and even had to call my fiancee on video call for them to greet. I am someone who usually sleeps very early so at about 9pm I retired to my room to sleep and left her at the parlour where she was watching a movie by dawn she went for the interview and returned back with high fever and shivering. I thought it was something mild so I got her paracetamol to drink which she did and slept off. She was too weak to go home and time was already gone so she spent a second night at my place and that was when my nightmare began. All through the night she was stooling, vomitting with very high fever. I was so confused, she looked so weak and Fragile, her eyes turning white. I became scared because she was looking weak. There I realized that I didn't know this person. A stranger in my house what if anything happens? I will be in a deep mess and social media will tag me a ritualist that lured a friend from Facebook to kill. Thoughts filled my heard. I know one cause of casualty for someone with severe diarrhea and vomiting is loss of bodily fluid so I quickly gave her oral drip (salt and water) to replenish lost body fluids. She kept drinking and vomitting, it was midnight I couldn't raise alarm and besides it's a compound I recently moved in. It was morning and she was still very sick. Let's goto the hospital she refused, let me call a nurse she refused. The stooling and vomiting only became intense, I suspected it was cholera and quickly rushed to a pharmacist to explain her symptoms. She gave me a pack of oral drips, some antibiotics and some drugs which I brought to her. She refused to still take the drugs. I had to find eba and wrapped the drugs inside then fed her myself which was a struggle. On day 5 she gained small strength and was strong enough to leave. She left the house and I was relieved. What would I have said if it went beyond that? My fiancee where she is was already panicking because we didn't know this person except from Facebook. I learnt a lesson and will never allow a stranger into my house again. |
U go use mouth chop am finish worse if u have kids See this business if you don't have enough capital hovering over 2m to go into it big and Stack up goods immediately anything is sold you will lose 1. First the business is mostly favourable to wholesalers who sell in cartons and quickly go and replace them (reason I suggested 2m) 2. The profit is laughable. You can buy a carton of biscuit for 4k and hoping to make profit of ₦100 from each carton. If you are not selling in bulk and choose to sell one one before you finish selling no 3 may happen 3. You have various enemies like rats, cockroaches and even breeze. Most especially if a rat enters your store it could wipe off both your capital and profit in a day by damaging your goods. Some mitigate this by putting cats inside the store but what about breeze and ants? 4. If you have small children your own is finished. They will eat and drink your profit before you breath. You will think your husband is understanding but e go shock u say Na from your store children school snacks will be taken from before and after school. Oga will be pleased to get that burden off his wage bill 5. I will stop here. You will be surprised to see that from your purse everyday you are using your own savings to support the business. Even house upkeeping money oga gives to you. I am not discouraging you ooooo but if you are not going big with at least ₦2,000,000 for wholesale sales be sure that your husband is supportive and the type that will be ready to inject more funds into the business when empty cartons and shelves are rising faster that actual goods My 2 cents |
Fiscus105:You are a fool. You are calling someone advocating for court marriage a beast? Like I said you have brain but reason through your anus. Only beasts like you avoid court marriage because you want to hide under tradition to use and dump someone's daughter, abuse her and leave her with nothing. I am a liberal, I believe in fairness, equity and Justice that is why I will toll the legal path to protect but myself and my wife with the law. But fools like you seek for slaves not wives. Reason before you talk. No dey open mouth waaaa like Mumu for public |
Fiscus105:Shut up. If it was a court marriage they had that man dared not abandon her and the kids. You have brain but don't reason |
Realashbobby:This is where I get angry at ladies and parents that force in-laws to do elaborate church wedding that doesn't protect them or their daughters when what they should be pushing for is court wedding. I have had serious arguments with ladies who insist that they cannot marry a man that insist that there will be no white wedding. Whenever I hear a girl say that or their parents say that I shake my head and marvel at their ignorance. I lost a good friend of mine because of her abusive husband. This man so tortured her emotionally and ended up sending her packing empty handed after years of labouring and suffering with the man, he decided that she wasn't good enough when money came. My friend went back to her parents house empty and died from frustration after 5yrs. I remember their elaborate white and traditional marriage all for nothing since her experience I vowed never to allow my daughters marry any man that is not willing to bind the marriage legally. To hell with white wedding, you can skip it but you must go-to marriage registry and seal the union with my daughters. Earlier we realize that it is only the court that protects wife's right in the country the better. An average Nigerian man is domineering and has the tendencies that traditional men have. Abusive and egocentric like what we watch in nollywood where at the slightest provocation the man throws the lady's bags out shouting leave my house, at slightest provocation he hits her, at slightest provocation in-laws meddle in their lives. The court brings checks and balances. If you misbehave there are consequences both the man and the woman must behave themselves and make their home work else there is a law waiting to punish the guilty party. |
God bless lagos state for this. Those retail gas operators I fear for them everyday You will see them inside their shop surrounded with gas cylinders and they will be making calls. Even going to fill my cylinder I give it to them and stay faraway until they are done. Last year I witness a gas explosion 10 buildings away but the blast was so loud that it shattered glasses of buildings around. Even my building shook. We came out to see dead bodies packed like sardine. Just one cylinder that exploded cause that harm how much more when more than one explodes. Make we no see bad things o |
Resisting pressure from my family to join the japa wave is my biggest win in 2023. |
Good governance is not by building humongous projects. Mr Gov do the little things that have the greatest impacts on the lives of lagosians first. The inner roads are terrible. 80% of streets roads in lagos are in terrible conditions. If we cant drive out of our houses of what use is this 4th mainland bridge or the blue line or red line? I know some hediots will come and talk rubbish under my comment but that's your headache. Fix the goddamned state roads first. Fix the streets |
MySolace:Your problem |
DonroxyII:No problem, I am mentally ready for that |
AareGaa:Thanks. Hopefully |
JohnnA1:When a man say he met his woman at home, you should ask pple what that statement means |
Goalminded1:My brother only a fool sees diamond and go for stone. Only reason we are not married is because I am writing an exam while she is also learning a trade. I met that girl at home, I was a broke and unkept guy but this girl saw through me and stayed by me. Now I will say I am comfortable and she is still there. She is my wife for sure and definitely I will wife her once we are done with our training. 2024 may be our last as singles |
6yrs relationship with my fiancee I can't seem to find any fault with her. I have searched and searched yet that babe is just too perfect in every area. I asked her about my flaws too and where I need to improve she also cannot spot. We are a perfect match, 6yrs and chasing 7yrs no drama, no fight, no quarrel just both of us loving , making sacrifices and managing our little. |
Greetings! Recall my experience in seeking for accommodation last year. It was a harrowing experience but I am glad I went through that stress and ended up where I am now. The road has been completed and instead of spending 1600 daily to work, now I spend just 1k total even with the subsidy removal. For the compound, December will complete me a year there (how time flies) and I am loving Every moment I spend there. The serenity, neatness, peace, everything. The landlord who live with us are like parents to us, very understanding and coordinating. Though some rules are annoying but those rules keep the peace and whatever benefit we enjoy in the compound. I enjoy peace there and I am happy, there is progress in the compound, I can see it in the lives of the neighbors and even myself. I used to have insomnia where I was which resulted to high blood pressure. At a young age I was already having BP reading of 170, 180 which was terrible but since I moved in, I have never recorded any insomnia and my blood pressure has normalized to 120. I will be going to renew my rent by December but I want to also present a gift to my landlord and his wife as a show of appreciation. What should be the ideal gift? They are roughly in the late 70s |
Drones wey them go thief immediately e land to deliver the drugs. Make una better attach bombs and bullets to that drone to fire any motherfucker wey try to steal am cos that's the only way to stop Nigerians from kidnapping it ![]() |
I had a girlfriend back then in school. She was the only one I was having sex with. She looked so decent and calm. Always loving and avoiding trouble but she was a sex machine. Always ready anytime I ask she can rush down and collect any number of rounds multiple times even if it meant 10 times daily she would open up for me. I loved everything about her and felt at home, no need cheating, I was looking forward to forever but I travelled for 2wks then came back and we had sex. After that sex i couldn't pee again, started having those funny discharge and quickly went for test and it was Gono. I was like from where kwa, I have only touched one lady and even the lady doesn't go out, always indoor and looks innocent. My people, I confronted her ooo and she opened up that she couldn't hold herself for that two weeks and met a guy to bang her. I even discovered that this babe no day passes by without her receiving dick. She is so addicted to sex that even after going 3 rounds with her she still goes outside that same day for 2 other guys to collect more rounds. I could touch her twice a week and rest but she was meeting other guys to complete the week for her. So innocent, calm, homely and peaceful. I got run for my life and left her to go fix her sex issue before I carry HIV. |
That manipulating Bitch will set u against your family. You have to know that in life when trouble comes your family will always be the one for you. See ehh, I am not a fan of people carrying family problems on their head, that is the fastest route to poverty OR not achieving anything but inasmuch as we don't want to be caught into the web of black tax we also do not want to completely cut off family members. That your girlfriend is already showing signs of a domineering partner that will chase away your family members from the house and only welcome her own people. You have to curtail her or live with a wicked soul. Pay attention to how she treats other people you will see that whatever doesn't benefit her, she cuts it off. I don't want any family member to stay with me but I will not tolerate my fiancee doing the chasing. Never! |
When you see foreign media start reporting about a particular candidate just know that the west have decided who will rule Nigeria. Recall that Nigeria is still a British private organization (Royal Niger Company) and independence came with a condition (all commomwealth nations are indebted to Britain). One of the criteria for independence is rotation of power among the geopolitical zones (McPherson called it Unity in diversity). The west never let go of their colonies and they feed off these colonies while they milk the colonies dry they are also weary of total collapse because if that happens it gives Russia and China opportunity to come in and have influence over these colonies. Google past presidents you will see that they all visited 10, Downing street from Obasanjo to Yaradua to Gej to Buhari and that is where who leads the country next is decided. For Obi, the sentiment of the west For peace to return is for power to move to South East As enshrined in the McPherson constitution set up by the British for Nigeria. The west have shown their support for ipob, kept mute on Nnamdi Kanu proscription and they know the what they are doing. Obi became bolder after his visit to 10 downing street, so far he has been the only candidate to have been invited there (check history, the candidate invited to that office always wins and gets maximum media coverage from foreign media). Obi will win, the west will support him because a collapse Nigeria means trouble for them, they cannot cater for 200milllion refugees and neither can they allow Russia or China to come in and influence because that's what they do in conflict areas. WHY OBI AND NOT TINUBU OR ATIKU? They picked Obi for two specific reasons 1. Atiku and Tinubu are on their black books. Tinubu had a drug case with US while Atiku was on their corruption book. Even though both parties lobbied for plea bargains to cover up the cases so they can have their freedom and visa restrictions removed, the west know that if these two wins, relations won't be swift hence will push the country towards closer ties with Russia and China. 2. Secondly condition for independence was for power to be rotated. During Biafra war when it was military dictatorship Britain and America had no reason to be involved in the war until Soviet Union stepped in and supplied Gowon with the needed military hardware, out of fear the west joined the war to please the federal government and retain their influence. When civilian rule was restored, power was agreed to be rotated. 1999 other regions stepped down for south west. The two major party fielded candidates from southwest PDP Obasanjo APP Olu Falae South west rule for uninterrupted 8yrs. In 2007 it was turn for North PDP Yaradua ANPP Buhari Other regions stepped aside Unfortunately after 2yrs Yaradua died, the north wanted to replace him with their man to complete their 8yrs but that would have been against the constitution and would have angered the Democratic nations of the west so they allowed Jonathan to complete the term. When it came to 2011 the north wanted power back to complete their tenure but since power was already in South South it was ideal for Jonathan to run another term to make it 6yrs for south south but for the condition of just one term. In all these, south east was supposed to have taken their turn in 2015 but Yaradua death scattered the formula. When Jonathan completed 6yrs he wanted to go for another term to make it 10yrs for south south and that angered the west. They used their might to kick him out (not because of homosexual law) 2015 was supposed to be turn of south east but since the north were yet to complete their term, south east had to wait for north to go on. Buhari has completed their term and next is for south East. The western powers know this and they are backing Obi for it. After south East, power is shifting to either north central Or north east before it gets to South West again |
Tenants should just close eyes and buy that machine if they are in Lagos. If landlord disguise say him wan renovate his building and give una quit notice una go see shege ooo Houses in Lagos now are not only expensive but very hard and depressing to find. Even if you find one it will be so substandard and cost will be on the high side... I am talking from experience, don't go and be reading yeye law that you know your right, there is no right in lagos ooo landlord will always win unless you have money and time to be going to court and paying lawyer I sha Don talk my own. Lagos now so long as where you are is OK, just be overlooking landlord's excesses till you have money to move out else you go hear word by force |
