But after watching youngster Jeremie Boga in action against Arsenal in their 3-0 pre-season friendly victory, Blues supporters are begging the club's management to keep the 20-year-old at Stamford Bridge. Last season, Boga played his football for LaLiga side Granada, but couldn’t stop their relegation from the top-flight. His display of neat dribbling and pace gave the Gunners plenty of problems on Saturday, though, and many fans now want him to remain part of the first-team squad. 1. Improving our blood circulation Dipping the body in hot water to the neck is kind of an exercise for your blood vessels. This is because water creates physical pressure on the body and so increases the capacity of our heart. In other words, when we're inside the water, the heart works faster and stronger. This is not a massive undertaking, more like a light exercise. A few dips a week is an excellent work out for your heart. 2. Helping us fall asleep Hot water relaxes the body and better prepares us for falling asleep. When a tense body enters a warm bath, the hot water increases the body temperature and relaxes the muscles. Relaxing the muscles not only soothes us physically, but also mentally, and many of us need that peace of mind at the end of the day. That said, be attentive to your body - don't fall asleep in the bath and limit your stay to no more than 20 minutes. 3. Staying in shape Over-stretched Muscles, small sports injuries, and even joint pain can be relieved with a (clean) hot bath, which is the perfect ending to physical activity. 4. Lowering our blood pressure A recent study has shown that soaking in a hot bath can lower your blood pressure. This is a great system for those with heart conditions who have to watch out for spikes in their blood pressure. If you do have a heart condition, then first, of course, consult your doctor, because a hot bath will also raise the rate of your heartbeat. If they say it's okay, then it's a great way of bringing down your blood pressure. 5. Losing weight Another study has indicated that people who suffer from diabetes and soak in a hot tub on a regular basis are able to reduce their levels of sugar and glucose in the blood. The study found that soaking in a hot bath for about 20-30 minutes, 6 days a week, made participants lose almost 2.5 pounds (2 kilos) a month as compared to the control group. 6. Cleaning the skin While it is true that a shower is cleaner than a bath, a good soak in hot water after a shower can open up the pores in our skin, and if the water is clean then it can come in and wash some of the dirt and toxins from our skin. The result is fresher and cleaner skin. 7. Reducing headaches Most types of headaches are caused by the narrowing of blood vessels in the head. The positive effect of the hot water on our blood vessels can be used to alleviate the pressure on those blood vessels and cure our headache. 8. Feeling better about ourselves Life is full of stressful events, and a hot bath can be that shoulder you need to cry on. Take a good soak and try to relax, as it's known that when we feel better physically, we get more confident in ourselves, more convinced we are up to the challenges ahead. A hot tub is a great way to reduce daily anxiety as well. Very few of us are aware of just how much the body's physical state increases our levels of perceived anxiety. 9. Helping our cough and flu symptoms The steam of a hot bath can dry out the mucus accumulating in our throat, which is one of the most common reasons for ongoing coughing. In addition, a hot bath can also alleviate symptoms of the flu. Taking a 10-15 minute hot-soak-break can really help you feel better while your body is getting rid of the disease. 10. Moisturizing our skin We may not like the wrinkled skin we get after a hot bath, but it actually has a good effect on it. The warm water leaves the skin moist for longer, and prevents it from drying up and getting those little cracks that often appear when it's dry. http://www.ba-bamail.com/content.aspx?emailid |
• A Complex Social Structure: Lions live in large groups called prides, similar to wolves (but not most other cat species). A pride consists of multiple related females and their dependent offspring along with two or three unrelated males. A typical pride has about 15 members, although some prides as large as 40 members have been observed. • Second Largest Big Cat:A male lion weighs about 500 pounds and grows to eight feet in length. It sounds impressive, but tigers are actually larger, reaching 850 pounds and 11 feet long. • Lions Don’t Live in the Jungle: Even though lions are known as “King of the Jungle,” they live in grasslands and plains – not the jungle. Also unusual in the animal kingdom, female lions do the hunting (usually in groups) while male lions stay home and watch over the pride. The males, however, are first to eat when the female lions come home with their kill. • Lion Babies Aren’t Only Called Cubs: Baby lions may be referred to as cubs, whelps, or lionets. A “whelp” actually refers to any young member of a carnivorous species, while “lionet” means “small lion” in Middle French. • Females Live Together for Life: Female lions, sisters, live together for life. Their female cubs also stay with the pride, even after they’re grown, but male cubs must venture out on their own once they reach maturity. • The Only Big Cats with Manes: Male lions have majestic manes that make them appear larger and more intimidating. Female lions are also attracted to fuller, thicker manes. • They Once Roamed the Globe: Lions once lived in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North America, and Northern India. Now lions primarily live in Africa, aside from a small group (about 300) Asiatic lions that live in India’s Gir Forest. • The Loudest Roar: A male lion’s roar can be heard from up to five miles away – the loudest roar of any big cat species. Their roar helps them find other lions as well as to proclaim their territory. A pride’s territory may include up to 100 square miles.4 • A National Symbol: Lions are associated with pride, courage, and strength, making them a perfect national symbol. Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, England, Ethiopia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Singapore all regard the lion as their national symbol http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2015/05/02/lion-facts.aspx
