Sharing the same borders with Afghanistan, with all the vulnerable security issues at these borders, Iran would never allow the Americans to stay permanently there, so the Taliban starts getting stronger again and the people of Afghanistan suffer as a result. In the end, the country may never see peace anytime soon. Pakistan, another of Afghanistan's neighbors are mainly Sunni, so they will never allow Iranian shites to gain total control of Afghanistan. That means that even if the Americans leave and the Russians decide to ignore Afghanistan, new emerging regional powers will still find the country a convinient ground for proxy confrontations. The future is bleek..

But it seem Russia and China are the one sponsoring the Taliban so I don’t expect any new emerging power than the two we already know and I think lot of afghans are behind Taliban because I don’t understand how they are gaining ground so fast if the populace are not behind them

The taliban are going to take over Afghanistan, the United states government knows that, many Afghanistan soldiers willing surrendered to the talibans.

Ideologically, the Talibans have changed, their foreign representatives is an English speaker and already talking that the taliban are willing to bring peace in the country.

China and Russia are in the negotiating table with the talibans, not long ago, the co founder of the taliban was in Russia meeting with the foreign minister of Russia, also they were in Beijing also.

China is promising the taliban that if they can stop a turk militants group, lot of infrastructural projects and money for rebuilding will go to them, Russia is also talking about security, they want the talibans to also stop some radical group that could cause them trouble.

It seems the United states lost the war in Afghanistan, now Russia and china are the ones leading the peace process.

Taliban will take over faster than you think, I read Taliban are in charge of about 82% of the country already
The federal government is only holding 3 major capital city and 1 will fall to Taliban any moment from now
