This article was written by 9ice's ex wife, Toni Payne...enjoy! Let me start by saying, we sometimes avoid those touchy subjects because we wish to avoid “drama” but Cyber Bullying is one concept it seems we are yet to get a full grasp on its consequences. Currently, in America there is a full campaign launched against bullying in general, where different celebs have been actively campaigning to stop bullying. We have seen cases of young ones committing suicide because they couldn’t handle the bullying. I pray and hope things don’t get this far in my motherland, although I suspect it may have and we just don’t document it as much. There is a blog very notable for nasty comments, in fact more people visit the blog because of its comments than its content. The blog is owned and run by a lady named Linda. Please keep in mind, I have nothing against her, she is a hard working lady who has made a name for herself, but I also wont for the sake of status not call a spade a spade. I am not singling her out just for the sake of it, but she just happens to be the 2nd party involved in the issue I want to discuss. I will make my case based on my observations about her blog or her (it gets confusing seeing as she approves the comments that make public view so if she wasn’t ok with it, we probably wouldn’t see it). You are probably asking yourself, as long as its not me being targeted, why should I be concerned? guess what, it is all of our business because God forbid what is being seen as “ok” now, may affect you someday. Aside from being a simple to read source for news, overtime, the blog has grown into some sort of “haven” for anonymous commenters who wish to pour out the darkness inside them all in the name of commenting about others. They have even taken it several notches up and attack each other. Today, I saw tweets to the effect that Toke Makinwa was being attacked on a certain blog. One of the retweets took me to the source and my heart was like, something has to be said. If it changes something, fine. If it doesn’t, that’s fine too. What I noted was that the past few days has seen blogger Linda hammer on and on about Toke’s Relationship breaking up, or posting a reference to being engaged for too long, or posting pictures of the babe calling it ”stunning” in her usual sarcastic style, and allowing her readers do the rest. When I mean “the rest” I am talking about the outright nasty, vicious, malicious comments posted about this lady from people who do not even know her. Lets not forget some past commenters who would even claim to know the subject personally and proceed to post “personal” information about the person.. if they are lies, we do not know, but we still get to watch the defamation go on and all these are approved by the blog owner. Toke may not say anything because she wishes to appear strong and non chalant, but damn, she isn’t made of steel and has blood in her veins and emotions like we all do. Last time I checked, most people that have been a victim of cyber bullying such as this are human too. Also, there is no age restriction on these blogs so your kids are reading and learning. To those who make these comments its “fun”, but when does fun turn into torment and emotional abuse? Toke and I are not close friends so I have nothing to gain from defending her except calling a spade a spade. Everything beyond and above this point is my opinion and analysis of the situation. If I am wrong, my apologies in advance but I seriously doubt ill be far from the truth. In my opinion I feel she(Linda) put Toke under the “hate” radar simply because she(Toke) made a statement on her radio show that “Linda was not a role model”. Linda took it very personal because she took to her blog to post one long epistle about bla bla bla. After that, its been Toke this, Toke that, knowing full well the type of readers she has and the type of comments it will generate (its like the same olD thing, different person).. ahh ahhh. If Toke doesn’t see Linda as a role mode, She (Toke) is entitled to her opinion and as long as she was not abusive when she said it, I see no harm in that. So why take it so personal to the point of being vindictive? You see, the irony in the comment Toke made is that, by constantly putting her under attack from her readers, she is indirectly proving Toke right. I sure as hell would not want my child seeing someone who promotes hate as a role model and I am sure neither would you. Like I said, this trend did not start today, its been ongoing and has easily become what her blog is known for. Lets not get into the “Failed Model” comment from Tonto Dike that got Tonto 1st place “lets verbally bash her” position. At least Tonto can rest small as it seems Toke is the hot new “lets verbally bash her” in town. If someone is having personal issues, offer words of support and move on, if she likes going to parties, free her because she is using her legs and not yours. If she wants to vlog about her life, take what you can from it and keep it moving. Try and distinct constructive comments from vicious ones. Try to distinct funny from wicked. From the little I know about her, Toke Makinwa is a sweet lady. She is friendly, funny and down to earth so it leaves me wondering, what all these people raining hurtful abuses about her stand to gain. Even if she is not all these things, if they don’t know her personally, what do they stand to gain? You want to know the answer? Absolutely NOTHING!. They comment, laugh, and move on. To them its entertainment but to the person who is being picked on, its not close to funny. When it becomes a family member, its not close to funny. If it is your child someday, it will not be close to funny. With that said, I hope people search their conscience before they comment. If not, no problem. We can’t see you as anonymous but God knows how its going down. Please keep in mind, I know some will try to make a mountain out of a molehill about what I just wrote no be today una don dey do am, I will not engage you so don’t waste your time. ps:Its easy to say American blogs do it to, but I ask, why must we copy the negative Lastly if Linda decides to post another one of her “epistles” simply because I have said something a lot of people who smile in her face and a lot of celebrities, say behind her back. Its all good, free world. I write not to offend anyone. I understand that the truth can sometimes be a bitter pill to swallow. All the same, its all love. I have had some deep discussions about this wieht a few big name celebrities and hopefully, as the years progress, something can be done to see a big reduction in cyber bullying. Lets aspire to love more and hate less. sorry for the long post, if there are any typos or grammatical errors, sorry for that too. God Bless http://www.kemifilani.com/2013/12/cyber-bullying-this-toke-makinwa-and.html

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzVxEVfr8Og At first, the video got me laughing but then again it turned out to be an emotional one. You see, most contestants try to fake a smile after being given a No from the judges on the show but 22 year old Emmanuel Udeh just couldn't hold back his emotions, he cried! Besides the judges (especially Kate) weren't even nice... The 22 year old man before showing off his dance skills disclosed that his stature has always been a challenge for him, stating clearly that "I am not where my age mates are because of my stature/size..." btw his pronunciation of 'church' (and some other words) was really funny though! After presenting his crappy dance, he boldly said "I know I haven't impressed you enough but I'l do better in the next round" but he got a No from Kate Henshaw and Dan Foster so he walked out of stage in tears, he sank to the floor and began saying "God why, why, I begged you to help me...you said you'l see me through.."...and then he began questioning God, that was so emotional. http://www.kemifilani.com/2013/12/22-year-old-man-bursts-into.html |
You want to be inspired, then read this reflection from media personality Matse! Enjoy... "2013!!! Slowly coming to an end. A year of many joys and enlightenment. If one had told me on the 31st of December 2012 when I lit fireworks and screamed "Happy New Year!" that I would be married and expecting a miracle; my mini-me, I would have doubted. If someone had told me I would be a dual citizen of Nigeria and Germany, I would have wondered how. I was terribly hurt in 2012 but in just one year my life changed forever. Some have said, "Can she ever settle down?", "Who will marry this feminist?" "Which man go put this one for house?". Well, my God has answered those questions. I have grown mentally, spritually and emotionally. I have learnt not to be selfish and more tolerant. It wasn't all roses in 2013...I lost my job that I put so much into but gratefully other doors are opening. I was sick beyond comprehension and thought I would die but God was with me. I fought with some family members but it brought us closer. I gained better relationships with my loved ones and I acquired a brand new family (The Nnolis) and in the process of making my own. As the last days of December 2013 comes, keep believing, keep fighting and stay strong. Miracles do happen. You heart desires will be granted. Your pain will be removed and your joy established. But remember, always keep a clean heart and wish others no evil and I guaranty you, it will be well with you shortly. Lord, I thank you for 2013...It is a year I will always remember. Keep us all to enjoy the blessing of 2014. "http://www.kemifilani.com/2013/11/wow-maste-shares-very-inspiring.html

Newly wed couple, Peter and Lola in a recent interview had so much to say about their wedding, read all the juicy excerpts below: Congratulations on your wedding to the mother of your children, Lola. Thank you very much. How does it feel now that you finally married her? It feels great. I wouldn’t have felt better. To God be the glory. How would you describe the joy of the day? It was awesome, great, spectacular. Lola, how does it feel settling down with the man that means the world to you? It’s a good feeling. I’m happy about it. Peter, how would you describe your wife? Honestly, she is a wonderful woman. She has virtually all the qualities that every man would want in his ideal woman. She’s caring, loving, God-fearing, hard working – just name it, that’s my wife for you. What are the sterling qualities that endeared her to your heart? I just said that now. No man will not want to spend the rest of his life with a woman that possesses the qualities I mentioned. Why was the wedding delayed till now despite having all it takes to be a husband? The truth is that we have always known that the wedding will come up. We just didn’t want to rush things unnecessarily. We waited for the right time. Entertainers are not used to keeping one woman, how is your own case going to be different? Entertainers don’t keep one woman? I don’t think so. Is there any iota of truth in the tale that your family didn’t support the wedding? That is very far from being the truth. I saw some of those reports and was full of laughter. Everybody is just laughing because the reports are like comedy to us. Honestly, there is no iota of truth in the rumour. But it’s one of the prices you pay as a celebrity, so I remain focused. Lola, how would you describe him? http://www.kemifilani.com/2013/11/the-aftermath-of-their-n150million.html |

So I have been getting several mails from different corps members concerning the on-going pandemonium on the Lagos NYSC camp in Iyana Ipaja. There are actually different accounts to the story but I decided to publish just two of the different accounts, however the established fact is that the soldiers flogged some drunk male corpers. "This night is supposed to be our last night on camp as tomorrow is our passing out, so some guys got drunk, as in stupidly drunk and refused to go to bed at 10pm. Normally all corps members are expected to be on their various bed by 10pm. The guys were so drunk that ...they were forming Aluta and shouting everywhere, they broke the boundary between the girls' and female hostels and were on the verge of breaking into the hostels when the soldiers began flogging and fighting with them" a source narrated. Another source who said almost the same thing added that "the guys were dancing naked, running around, making unnecessary noise and showing off their pricks, it was the beating from the Soldiers that calmed them down". The situation is presently being brought under control though... Will get more details as it unfolds...http://www.kemifilani.com/2013/11/pandemonium-in-lagos-nysc-camp-soldiers.html |

Last night, media personality, Uti Nwachukwu while hosting the ELOY awards which held in Lagos, mocked OAP and Vlogger Toke Makinwa. Uti who is well known for his ‘party-going skills’ acknowledged the fact that Toke Makinwa has taken over – she attends almost all the celebrity parties in Lagos and fans are beginning to mock her for that. “Everybody is beefing you Toke. Why? You see, before Toke came on the scene, I was the most beefed celebrity for attending so many events, but now, whenever I go to event these days, I pray to God that Toke attends too, so I won’t be insulted alone…since she came around, the hate on me has lessened because finally there is someone who attends more events than me.” Uti jokingly said. On realizing that Toke and her fiance, Maje Ayida were not finding the joke funny, Uti immediately tried to cover up, saying “Toke don’t mind them, they are hating because you are successful and doing well” He further said “You have a sexy man by your side who many ladies wish they had.” Well, the last statement made Toke smile coyly but Maje Ayida didn’t stop frowning at Uti. Meanwhile Toke tweeted this some hours ago "Life is too short to spend thinking of the opinions people have of you, it's never that serious. Fear God and be good to your fellow man" http://www.kemifilani.com/2013/11/oops-battle-of-party-goers-uti.html
