While millionaire Davido won the award as Best Pop single and artist of the year, Small Doctor won the 2018 best street hop artiste.
Others are MI- Best rap single; Teni- Rookie of the year; Reminisce- Best rap album.
Others are – Innocent Idibia (2face) and Ayodeji Balogun (Wizkid).
The awards on Saturday night, stretching into the early hours of Sunday were given at the 12th edition of HEADIES which took place at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Headies award formerly known as the Hip Hop World Awards was established in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria to recognise outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry.
It usually features performances by established and promising artists.
Wizkid received the best music video award, the best R and B pop album award and the viewers’ choice award for his song ” Come closer”.
2face had the best reggae dancehall single award for his song ” Holyholy”.
Other winners are Mayorkun with next rated award; Omawumi- female best vocal performance; Praiz- male best vocal performance; Nasty C- Africa artiste of the year; Aramide- Best Alternative Song.
Simi- Best recording of the year; Yemi Alade- Best Performer; Tiwa Savage- Best collabo; Kidominant- Producer of the year; MI- Lyricist on the roll.
Lagos State and some companies were recognised as industry brand ambassadors.
They were MTN, Globacom, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Nigerian Breweries, Pepsi, and Hennessey.

Motorola's has reigned supreme in the budget smartphone category for a few years - and that looks set to continue in 2018.
The company - owned by Chinese giant Lenovo - just took the wraps off five brand new smartphones that all offer decent specs at a very affordable price.

The best of the bunch is the new Moto G6, which packs in a 5.7-inch full HD screen and dual rear 5MP and 12MP cameras. It's got a fingerprint scanner and a headphone jack as well as the option to upgrade the storage with a microSD card.
It's set to go on sale in the UK on May 2, with a starting price of just £219 - which makes it a steal in smartphone terms.

Motorola also announced a large screen version called the Moto G6 Plus that will cost £269 when it launches on the same day.
The new line-up was rounded out with the Moto G6 Play, Moto E5 and the Moto E5 Plus with price points of £169, £119 and £149 respectively.
All the new phones have headphone jacks and upgradeable storage and will run on the latest version of Google's Android operating system.

Canadian police are questioning the suspected driver of a rented van that ploughed into pedestrians in northern Toronto on Monday, killing 10 and injuring 15.
Alek Minassian, 25, was not previously known to authorities, police said.
The incident appeared to be deliberate but the motive was not clear, officials added.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the "tragic and senseless attack" had brought him "great sadness".
Meanwhile, an officer has been praised for not opening fire during a tense standoff with the suspect, who claimed to be armed.

Video broadcast on CBC News showed a man pointing what appeared to be a gun at officers and shouting "kill me".
The officer tells the man to "get down" and when the suspect says he has a gun, the officer repeats: "I don't care. Get down." The suspect was then arrested without shots being fired.
How did the incident unfold?
Police said the white rental van mounted the kerb on Yonge Street between Finch Avenue and Sheppard Avenue at about 13:30 local time (17:30 GMT) on Monday and drove into pedestrians along a 2km (1.24 mile) stretch.
Reza Hashemi, who owns a video shop on Yonge Street, told the BBC he heard screaming on the other side of the road.
He said the van was repeatedly mounting the pavement and running into people.

One witness told City News that the driver was "hitting anything that comes in the way".

"People, fire hydrants, there's mail boxes being run over," said the unnamed man, who said he was driving behind the van during the incident.
As the van continued, the man said he sounded his horn to try to warn pedestrians. "I witnessed at least six, seven people being hit and flying in the air, like killed, on the street," he said.

Pictures from the scene showed bodies covered in orange sheets along the van's route. Debris and items of clothing were scattered across the pavements and road.
The van was brought to a halt by police several streets away and was quickly surrounded.
The suspect was arrested 26 minutes after the first emergency call was made to the police.

In what appeared to be grandstanding, lawmakers in the House of Representatives Tuesday clamoured for President Muhammadu Buhari’s impeachment over his alleged breach of the Constitution.
The call for his impeachment was the fallout of the anticipatory approval the president gave for the withdrawal of $496 million from the Excess Crude Account (ECA) for the procurement of 12 Super Tucano aircraft from the United States government without the consent of the National Assembly.

Buhari had explained in the letter that he gave the anticipatory approval for the withdrawal of the amount because of the February deadline given by the U.S. government to close the deal on the aircraft purchase.The call for the impeachment process started after the president’s letter on the withdrawal of the $496 million from the ECA, which was addressed to the Speaker, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, was read out at plenary.
As exclusively reported by THISDAY, Buhari in the letter is seeking for the inclusion of the $496 million in the 2018 Appropriation Bill which is yet to be passed by the legislature.
But the letter, which was read immediately the House resumed sitting after an executive session, seemingly drew the ire of members.
It all started when Hon. Kingsley Chinda (PDP Rivers) raised a point of order, pointing out the constitutional breach by the president.
He said Buhari was in breach of the Constitution given that the expenditure had already been incurred even before seeking parliament’s consideration and approval.
“Mr. Speaker, there’s no such language as anticipatory approval in our law,” he said, adding that the House cannot be the rubber stamp of the Executive.
Chinda argued that a “constitutional infraction like this is impeachable”, to which many members chorused, “yes”.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has expressed "bitter sorrow" over a bus accident that left 32 Chinese tourists and four North Koreans dead.
The accident took place on Sunday night in North Hwanghae province, when the tour bus plunged off a bridge.
It is rare for North Korea's tightly-controlled media to report on negative news, and for Mr Kim to acknowledge the incident itself is even more unusual.
China is the North's main political ally and largest trading partner.
"[Mr Kim] said that the unexpected accident brought bitter sorrow to his heart," the official KCNA news agency reported.
"He couldn't control his grief at the thought of the bereaved families who lost their blood relatives."
The North Korean leader was pictured visiting injured passengers in hospital. The report said he "personally learned about the treatment".
He also visited the Chinese embassy in Pyongyang, where he met the Chinese ambassador to North Korea Li Jinjun and "expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathy."
China and North Korea have been long-time allies. Mr Kim's rapid visit to the injured people - and the reporting of it - is likely to be seen in part as a way of protecting his image among the Chinese population.

Chinese tourists make up an estimated 80% of foreign tourists to North Korea - providing an important source of currency for Pyongyang.

China is responsible for virtually all of North Korea's food and fuel aid and by many measures, can be considered its most important partner.
North Korea recently announced it was halting all nuclear and missile tests, as it builds up to major summit with the leaders of South Korea and the US.

Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West in the National Assembly was Monday morning arrested at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport.
The embattled senator was on his way to Morocco.
It is however unclear if he was arrested by the police or other security agencies.
He confirmed the development through a tweet on his tweeter handle.
“I have just been arrested at the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport on my way to Morocco for an official engagement sponsored by the Federal Govt after checking in,” it read.
The tweet was posted at 7.32am.
Melaye was recently declared wanted by Nigeria Police for alleged gun running charges in Kogi State.
