gfullmoon: @gfullmoon,Thanks Boss. Airtel disconnected my line that same 30th in the night, after i had registered my line 2wice before the deadline. I had to rush down to their office to re-register again. My line came back to life around 3pm(1st of july). I had a feeling i was also sent the text msg that day,but i had nothing to show for it. Am so happy,I got the text msg today. Boss,we go see on sunday. For those still expecting TRN msgs,just have FAITH..nothing is impossible o. |

tiyemama: ...I'm from Ekiti State o, did my interview on 25th April 11am, yet to get my TRN sms and sm1 frm my state that we did our interview together's got his....I'm in a maze now, dunno wat to think or believe. @Tiyemama,i have a feeling those called for TRN now are those who opted for enrolment and registration officer(State office). Those who opted for Enrolment and Registration monitoring officer(LG) have not be called for TRN(My Opinion). |

fatherfaith: from d little info I gather, it is obvious dat d 2nd set of people to go 4 trn on 15th-27th are people from d ff states; Delta, Eboyi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna n Rivers. Evrybody dat did interview frm dis states shld av receive message 4 d trn Lagos too. |

Congrats to all those who have received their TRN msg . For some of us who haven't received TRN msgs yet,just know Oluwa is Involved. Am wondering o, Is it possible that some of us still expecting might have been sent the TRN text message(30th june/1st July)and the message wasn't delivered(due to network issssh)?.My own case: Woke up on 1st of july to discover that my Airtel line wasn't functioning. My line was disconnected due to the stipulated deadline for registration of all lines. I had registered my line 2wice before the deadline and was wondering how i was barred from receiving/calling/texting and the rest. I had to rush down to the nearest airtel office to register, Airtel later restored all facilities to receive calls and text messages later in the day(1st of july). Am kinda confused o,NIMC abeg publish the names of those called for TRN o(I Rep Lasgidi). We will all smile @ the end. |

kazola30: For dos who applied for enrolment nd registration officer (LG) that are panickin because of training msg, i don't think u need to...cos according to the DG that they planned to have a registration centre across each LG of every state...I believe if dis materialise deir will be light @ end of the tunnel...bt for nw I believe they only sent trainin invite to those who will kick start the programme. My prayer is that make NIMC nd all LG quickly reach a compromise so dat brain no go dey rust for house for those of us who have nothing to do right nw. National ID numbers to check bank fraud -- NIMC 2013-06-23 23:38:45 The National Identify Management Commission has said the ongoing registration exercise will check cases of bank fraud in the country. The commission expressed optimism that the new identity numbers would tackle the problem of insecurity. The Director-General, NIMC, Mr. Chris Onyemenam, who stated this in an interview with journalists in Abuja on Saturday, also displayed equipment already installed to facilitate the registration exercise. According to him, more than 500,000 Nigerians have so far been registered, adding that the issuance of the new identity cards would begin in September. Onyemenam said, "The new identification numbers will stem the tide of crimes and corrupt practices in both the public and private sectors. The new identity card will checkmate bank frauds. That is the reason why the Bankers’ Committee is interested in developing a database. "No matter the amount of money they have, it will take them a long time to get to where we are. We need to work on that. When we streamline, it will be easy to identify fraud cases. "The registration is a continuous process and has no timeline. Compare it with the case of opening a new branch of a bank. They operate everyday without any timeframe. Right now, the enrolment centres we have are not enough. "In each state, there are 10 enrolment units and are capable of enrolling 500 people a day. We hope to open local government enrolment centres before the year ends. We are currently discussing with government agencies on how we can open registration centres in their offices. This is pending when the private sector will fully get involved. |

:-XMr DG and stories sha. Director-General and Chief Executive, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Barrister Chris E. Onyemenam, has said that about 70 per cent of the national identity cards currently in circulation are fake. Onyemenam, who made this assertion at a forum organised by NIMC added that more than 100 million Nigerians especially in the rural areas have been living without national identity cards. The NIMC DG said the concentration of populations and activities in the urban areas has compelled rural dwellers to suffer serious neglect during national identity card registration processes. Onyemenam said national identity card enrolment units of NIMC are to be established in each of the 774 local government headquarters in the country before the third quarter of this year. Onyemenam stated that previous efforts at registering Nigerians focused on the issuance of identity cards, NIMC this time around would introduced novel parameters to ensure that the process meets international standards. He said NIMC is poised to create awareness on the importance of registration, saying national identity cards in the future would become the basis for all government transactions in the country. Also speaking, chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Interior, Umar Bature, who spoke through a member of the committee, said the identity card scheme would help in crime prevention and control. He stated that the registration would provide reliable database for national planning as well as ease the process of infrastructural management in the country while facilitating the provision of other social services. |
