CrimeUnfortunate Rev. Father Caught In Child Sale And Trafficking Saga by fmedia(op): 11:51pm On Mar 04, 2018
Oshogbo in Osun state was the stage for child trafficking and sale involving an 18-month-old baby. The child was maliciously kidnapped from his mother and sold. The suspects of this ungodly crime were paraded at the police headquarters in Osogbo on Thursday by the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Mr. Fimihan Adeoye.

In an unfortunate twist of fate, a clergyman, the Rev. Father Chike Ejiofor, who heads Our Lady of Fatima parish in Woliwo, Onitsha, Anambra State, is neck deep in the saga of the child theft and trafficking.

Reports have it that 28-year-old Joy Esu enrolled with mother of 18-month-old Abdullahi Azeez at her shop in Osogbo as an apprentice tailor, but two days after resumption as apprentice, Joy Esu, kidnapped young Abdullahi Azeez when his mother asked Joy to look after him as she went to the market, Joy Esu was said to have given the 18-month-old to her boyfriend Sydney Onwuka. Onwuka was said to have sold the same child to Maxwell Agu at his purported government registered orphanage in Orlu, in Imo state at the sum of N200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira).

The unfortunate Rev. Father Chike Ejiofor, became involved in this unwholesome business when one of his widowed parishioners, a certain Elizabeth, told him about her desire to adopt a male child as she already had five grown daughters and no male child. The clergyman referred the parishioner to Maxwell Agu’s orphanage, after all, arrangements between Agu and Elizabeth were concluded, Elizabeth insisted on the Rev. Fathers involvement due to the sum of money involved, she then paid N750,000 (Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) to Rev. Father Ejiofor, which the Rev. Father paid to Agu. PoliticsRe: Buhari Hits Back At Transparency International by fmedia: 9:43pm On Feb 24, 2018
By the latest Transparency International ranking, Nigeria was ranked 148 out of 180 countries assessed in 2017, this represented a fall in Nigeria’s transparency levels an indication that corruption is healthy and waxing stronger. President Muhammadu Buhari’s media team have reacted to the report that corruption has worsened between 2016 and 2017.

The Buhari administrations Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, described the anti-corruption watchdog’s assessment index to be based on hearsay and not facts and as such enjoined Transparency International to make their assessment based on facts and not fiction. According to the statement,

“The Presidency notes that, while it welcomes constructive criticisms from the anti-corruption watchdog, Transparency International (TI), the organization has a responsibility to reflect the larger picture of the concrete and verifiable achievements of the Buhari administration since it came into office in May 2015.

Abduction – Governor Ibrahim Gaidam Apologizes.Recall that after the news of the recent Bokoharam attack on the school broke, the state government said no girl was abducted, while the state government was maintaining that claim, parents of girls were claiming that most of their daughters had not been seen, then the state government said those abducted had been rescued by the army. However, present records indicate that the whereabouts of over a hundred girls is yet not known.

It does appear now that hope of a successful rescue of the abducted girls from the hands of the terrorist group is not forthcoming going by the reports coming from that sector, on account of this, the Governor has apologized over his false information, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam apologized over the misleading statement on the rescue of female students of Government Girls Science and Technical College Dapchi by the Nigerian military.

Malam Abdullahi Bego, who is the Director-General, Press Affairs and Information to the governor, said
