The prices may differ marginally from area to area.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Telecom Jobs by folarina(m): 10:59am On Apr 25, 2009
@ Duro & all

Jobs is in Nigeria is not that easy to get with or without Oversea experience at this present moment.

I have 8 years UK experience consulting for different blue chip Telcos ie BT,Orange mobile, Cable and wireless etc

Vendors as well ie Alcatel-Lucent .I also spent 3 consulting in Amsterdam working for Versatel ( ISP in Netherlands) .

I possess professional certification in Cisco and have worked on technologies like MPLS , VPN ,BGP etc .

I ve gotten so many wonderful compliments about my CV but still no job interview talk less of job offer. sad sad

Personally i ve come to the conclusion that the global meltdown is affecting Nigerian co as well.

I ve sent my CV's everywhere you can imagine starcomms,Glo,MTN ,etisalat ,banks etc.( Same story ! )

Am not out to discourage you but just keep an open mind and PRAY FOR FAVOUR!

After been on this job searching for 3 months ,i ve now decided to start doing something else by the side so that i can feed my self .

But Fingers are not equal ,i just thought share my experience with you and others .Hopefully you will find some thing soon.

CultureRe: Is It Rude To Speak Your Language Openly In Public? by folarina(m): 1:56am On Feb 09, 2009
@  follypimpi

The answer to your post is YES & NO  huh huh huh, it just depends on the circumstances surrounding the situation.

Professionally - Speaking in a foreign language  in a professional environment is surely rude, as much as possible you need to speak in English (speak french  if you are working in France,Dutch if in Netherlands) . If you find yourself working in same office with another  Nigerian you must try and converse  in English when you are within the office complex/building .It might be really wired undecided undecided especially if you are trying  to catch up on a gist  with that  person . Don't forget you are been paid to be in that office and there are code of conduct you have to stick to ,just as you  cant turn up at work in your native clothes. When  other nationals ie Sudanese ,Asians ,Chinese ,Filipinos   speak their own  local language amongst themselves around me  i find it  rude ,offensive and unpleasant but i really don't say anything about it  to them. Don't forget  foreign language sound like noise in other people's  ears .

Socially cool cool - There is absolutely nothing wrong in gisting with your mate in any language you chose as long as you don't constitute  a nuisance of your self.
When you are out socially ,you can express yourself in any language you wish to but remember that you need to do so with consideration for the people around you .Nobody can tell you what language to speak when you are in Pizza hut !!!!! cool

I think what you witnessed is just a racial attack ! The woman must have been trying to either read a book or  get some rest on the coach and you were busy chatting away . If the lady was a nice person all she haad to say was ask you politely to lower your voice or change her seat .She is just a nasty person hence  that was why she told you off ,but she didn't have to do it in such a rude way .I once went to an Indian restaurant for a meal and this Asian family were sitting not far from me .They were so loud and they must have been speaking Punjabi ,all i did was ask for the table to be changed.

Don't be upset about it  at all ,you will meet some other people who will treat you in a nicer way .

Thanks for the mail grin

I saw a pic on your website during the conversion , it is unbeliveable how complicated it can get undecided

I have fired you some questions.
AutosRe: Rhd To Lhd Enquiry. by folarina(m): 5:58am On Jan 24, 2009
@ siena

Whats up ? Just wondering if you can shed some light on this for me pls  . wink wink

I intend to buy a RHD VW BORA (2000- 2002) from UK and convert it for it to be used in Nija (i think VW BORA  are all pretty the same design anyway from 1999 downwards ).

Do you think it a venture worth doing ? I am flexible on either auto or manual.

Do you do the conversion here in UK ? And how much does it cost ?Also how long does the conversion take ?

I have quite a few guys that have done this RHD to LHD conversion but i dont want to get my fingers burnt hence i need an expert advise.

It seems to have been a case of hit and miss for them .

Could you pls drop me a mail to folarina@gmail.com and we can take it up from there

Cheers matey  ; undecided undecided
