Hi ,

My next line of business diversion for 2009 is Aviation, unfortunately i cant afford to float an airline yet

I have decided to try my hands on opening a travel agency .

Can anyone in the house help on how to go about it,pls.

I have spoken to a few contact and i understand the minimum requirement is N10m and the profile margin is 8% for international route.

If anyone has a clue ,i would be grateful for all the info i can get .

Was the degree he had in CU his first or not? I have met a few CU alumnus & they are usually below 25.

I spent the whole night reading through this thread and this is what i have for you.( i have broken it down into points so that you will have pleasure in reading through )

Let me start by saying yourself and your brother were a bit on the top during your dad's tenure. You were not modest at all ,it is quite understandable because you guys were young then so i will simple blame it on youthful exuberant.

You drove around in a tinted Blue V boot & your brother in a  Honda accord ,some times with a police escort sitting next to you , one of you had a personalised plate as well .This is no hear say i have seen you but like i did say earlier it might be due to the change in your social status hence you require extra security all well and good  .
But don't play on Nairalanders intelligence by claiming you were modest,you were far away from it .
You had a girlfriend in OSU and your brother was dating an Ex-ISI girl that lived in Iyangaku Quarters or was it the other one round(it doesn't matter anyway).
My father was not a Governor but when i was at your age i did the same thing maybe even more . My excess could go unnoticed but not yours because you are the son of the governor and Ibadan is small town  maybe if you were in Lagos you could have gotten away with it .Remember the saying that "people in glass house don't throw stones"

I really doubt if you had any influence on your dad during his tenure so you cant be crucified for his mistakes or policies.
I am not sure to what extent he carried you along but it would have been shocking and rather alarming if you were allowed to make any contribution about  the affairs of the state.If your dad was a CEO of a bank he wont involve you in the day-day running of the bank so same goes for the state affairs as well.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you becoming a politician or having a political ambition, after all our parents are meant to be our mentors.I can mention 10 politicians who have groomed their kids or their kids have used the father as a platform to acheive their political ambition  ie Obasanjo - Iyabo Obasanjo , Olusola Saraki- Saraki  ,  Awolowo - Oluwole Awolowo , Alani bankole - Dimeji bankole , Adedibu - Kamoru Adedibu  ,Richard Akinjide- Hon Akinjide and  the list goes on .You are surely  taking the right step in the right  direction ,you dad is a power broker nothing wrong with you taking advantage of that . It happens in the professional world as well ie Subomi  Balogun -  Ladi balogun ,  Ibru-  ,

You need to be prepared for this and in all honesty you are handling it very well on nairaland. Gift from your dad's friend are welcomed by all means .There are peeks of being the Governor's son .Nobody can fault you for that even if your company still enjoys favours from his old associate there is no problem.Just make sure you are squeaky clean with the contracts you executed or the allocations you are given .

Your Exposure as a candidate for  the House of Rep
This is what gives me great concern because i doubt if you are ready for this position .Your  political experience &  exposure are certainly not enough for this positon .I read some of the bills and motions you have in mind ,these all sounds like child's play.As a Rep member you potentially stand the chance to be the speaker which is the No4 position .Are you ready to be the No4 Citizen of the country ? Take it easy. You are a better candidate for House of Assembly than House of Rep .People are groomed into these  positions  they don't just start from the top ,your political ambition will be more achievable at the state level than Federal.Some of your responses has shown that you have no clue what is happening at the fed level.They do more than collecting estacodes and constituency allowance in the house.Have you served at the state level yet ,either as a political  appiontee or an  employee ?
You have just graduated form school started your business and you want to be a member of House of Rep.Dapo drop it ! All these within the twinkle of any eye 

Dapo ,just to round off  you have performed very in handling some of these criticism and attacks .Can you please desist from mentioning names because you will only get more entangled . Some of these people  will not appreciate you mentioning their names in  public .As a politician you need to learn diplomacy and be discreet  . Nice car but please be careful the way you market an Hybrid car !

From experience I can tell you they can turn out to be a problematic my sis used to drive a Toyota Prius Hybrid .

At the moment I drive a Lexus RX300 and might be changing to Lexus RX400h in future ,so i have read up a bit about it Hybrid cars .

Hybrid car surely saves fuel no doubt about that (good for Ijebu's like me ) ) but the electric battery has a life span (not sure maybe 7 or 8 years )

and can be expensive to replace .

It must never run out of fuel ( surely it is not good for any car to run out fo fuel ) but if it does car will still run on Electric battery and eventually drain out

the battery life ,battery is not rechargeable so replacement .

As per the mechanically part of it ,the principle is same like any other car so any qualified mechanic will be able to fix it .

In short Inspire i know you are a careful seller ,if possible try educate whoever buys this car more about the do's and don't .

My man you need to extra cover your back on this one ooooo, no be car for just anybody .

This baby is too clean and hence needs a clean and smooth bobo or sisi wey go look after am so that the owner go enjoy am .

Still waiting for your End of year bonanza , missed the obama's bonanza was really thoughtful of you .

I didn't think of it that way BUT that will be under the assumption that the present owner does not have an existing mortgage or a secured loan on the property !
Also with the news about house prices in UK ,lets hope the property is not in negative equity .

My brother there are too many ifs ,

My advise if that let him do a due diligence before going ahead with the transaction , to me this looks like a get rich scheme and they always backfire .
I have been victim of a few of those schemes ie pennywise , pyramid etc

If the present owner is having problem with mortgage how can they afford the Rent

With Flats you usually have to pay Ground rent & service charge ? This is around £1200 - £1500 pa so you need to budget for that as well.

Also for the fact that the transaction is passing through a UK Solicitor does not mean that it is fraud-proof .You will be shocked at what happens in the UK ( solictitor or no sosolicitor ,we are all human beings and laliableo be tempted by money.
law society is only a regulatory body and not a law enforcement ,they can only strike the sosolicitorff the book but they wont recover your money for you.

No be for only owambe i need a driver for .I don't know about you but i dont have a desk job am always on the move 24 7 .

I sabi drive but what will i do if i need to jump on okada during traffic because am running late for my meeting .I no go put my car for head now

I have meetings with clients all over and you dont want to turn up at your appiontments looking tired after spending 3 hours in traffic .

Friends and neighbours,long thing , if you find yourself in my shoes then you know what i mean .

Please my driver has just taken a casual leave this afternoon for 3 weeks might be longer due a sudden family emergency .

The bottom line is i need a driver to fill his place ASAP ,i was discussing with a colleague of mine and he told he is aware of a company in Victoria

island that supplies casual staff including drivers.

Unfortunately he doesn't have the number or the details but he is sure the company does exist .

Has anyone used them before ? Does anyone have any experience with them good or bad ?

Are they reliable ,honest & trustworthy ?
