Car TalkCovid 19 Lockdown. by Folorunsjo(op): 10:42am On Apr 04, 2020
Good morning all.

I hope we are copping with the lockdown. Please stay safe.

As the lockdown continues, remember to do the following on your car;

1. Warm your engine until it attain the optimum temperature. At least 10-15 minutes.

2. Disengage your parking or emergency brake, if you are going to be away leaving your car for a long time to avoid the brake binding.

3. Do not leave the car perpetually on one sport for a long time, to avoid flat spot on your tyres.

4. While warming your engine, do not rev your engine, instead, allow it to idle (slow run, as some people call it) as it warm up.

5. You may not necessarily remove your battery terminals, except you are going to be away for a very long time without the car, or there is a drain on your battery. (The drain can be fixed as soon as the lockdown is over).

6. If you have rodents around your compound, sprinkle some diesel around your engine to avoid them feasting on your wires/electrical components.

7. Keep your car away from direct sun light as much as you can, to maintain your car colour and the integrity of your interiors.

Note that your engine oil deplete or depreciate inside your engine whether you use the car or not. Therefore, remember to do your oil change as at when due.

For any further inquiry, do not hesitate to post your question on this platform, or call 08068683511, or 07018484909.
