Wenger's season has been blighted by protests demanding he end his long association with the club, repeated questions over whether he will sign an extension to his contract, which runs out at the end of the season, and uncertainty over the futures of key players Sanchez and Ozil.

Sports / Is PFA AWARD WINNER: "Ngolo Kante The New Face Of Premier League Midfield"? by Footballmade: 2:37am On Apr 24, 2017
CHELSEA midfielder N’Golo Kante landed the prestigious Professional Footballers’ Association player of the year prize on Sunday night.

The Frenchman, who is on course to win a second successive Premier League title after also being part of the Leicester side which upset the odds last season, secured the most votes from his fellow players.

He saw off competition from Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard – who won the award in 2015 – plus Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Manchester United and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez

Kante said: “To be chosen by the players to be player of the year means a lot to me.

“It means the world to be chosen and it’s been two beautiful seasons, one with Leicester, and we are in good form with Chelsea. To be player of the year, it’s a great honour.”

On his move from Leicester to Stamford Bridge, Kante continued: “It’s a different type of playing, but with the manager, with the players, everything is easy, because we work a lot to be good in the games. It’s working very well.”

Asked about the influence of boss Antonio Conte, the former Boulogne and Caen player said: “He knows what he wants from the players.

Sports / Islamic Group 'ISIS' Take Responsibility Over Borussia Dortmund Bombings by Footballmade: 2:30pm On Apr 12, 2017
A letter found outside the hotel 'takes responsibility for the act' and mentions the Christmas market atrocity in Berlin in which a truck driven by an ISIS fanatic ploughed through crowds of revellers killing 12.

It also referenced Germany's deployment of Tornado reconnaissance missions as part of an international coalition battling the terror group. But in a bizarre twist this morning, it also emerged that investigators are examining a second message - circulating online - from a left wing anti-Nazi group.

German chancellor Angela Merkel said this morning she was 'horrified' by the 'repugnant' attack.

It says the bus was targeted because the Dortmund team had not done enough to fight racism, right-wing populism and neo-Nazism and that the attack was a 'symbol of the politics' of the club, the German Press Agency reports.

But the Sueddeutsche newspaper in Munich said the letter found near the scene made reference to ISIS.

Sports / 5 Reasons Why Hull City Will Beat Man City When They Meet On Saturday by Footballmade: 8:01pm On Apr 07, 2017
1)Hull City are currently on form

They strung together two victories for the first time since the beginning of the season and all the noise coming out of the club ahead of the game is that hull City are approaching the game pressure free.

It's a freebie game for the Tigers this one. They are out of the relegation zone and playing with real confidence. Play like they did against Boro and getting a result is hardly unimaginable.

2) Man City are not

Admittedly yes, they have had a tough run of games, in which they have played Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in their last three Premier League clashes. But for a club like Man City, they are expected to pick up more than just the two points that they have.

In fact Guardiola's side haven't won in their last four outings in all competitions, losing to Monaco the other result in that run, and hull could catch them at just the right time.

3)Man City have not won at home in the league for two months

The Citizens have struggled at home of late in the Premier League, They may have beaten Monaco in the high scoring 5-3 and beaten Huddersfield Town 5-1, but the fact is they haven't won a Premier League game at the Etihad since February 5 in which they struggled to a 2-1 win over Swansea City.

4)Man City struggle to break the Tigers down First leg

In fact, 72 minutes had passed before Andy Robertson dived in on Raheem Sterling and Yaya Toure slotted the penalty away to open the scoring. The score line did Mike Phelan's side no favours but it was very misleading.

5) Man City has a porous defense that concede goals

It's a problem they have had all season, a rickety defence has resulted in goals being shipped. In the top seven, only Liverpool and Arsenal have conceded more than Pep's side.

Seven in their last four games in all competitions is hardly desirable and it goes to prove that if you can find the holes you can get at them.

Sports / Six Things To Watch Out For This Weekend As Premier League Action Returns by Footballmade: 9:18pm On Mar 31, 2017
After the international break, the Premier League returns in what is very much the business end of the season. Into the final quarter of the season, there remains plenty to decide at either end of the season.

And for a host of sides, this weekend could prove crucial, whether looking down or looking up.The weekend's action kicks off with a Merseyside derby at Anfield, and culminates with Sunday's meeting between Arsenal and Manchester City.

Here, are six things to look out for as the top flight makes its return:

1. Can Lukaku make a big-game difference?
Everton are outsiders for a top six finish under Ronald Koeman this season, but that remains precisely what the Dutchman is aiming for.

If the Toffees are to lay claim to a European spot, then key will be Romelu Lukaku, the Premier League’s 21-goal top scorer. The Belgian’s future remains up in the air, with Lukaku unwilling to extend his current deal, despite Everton’s offer of £150,000-a-week. He wants to play in the Champions League and against Europe’s very best. But the question remains: is he a top-level centre-forward?

Last summer the ex-Anderlecht star was linked with a host of Europe’s big names, but those links came to nothing. This term, he has taken his game up a notch and his Everton record is mightily impressive, with 83 goals in 157 games.

2. Will Sakho stand firm against Chelsea's attack?
Crystal Palace have hauled themselves out of the Premier League drop zone with three successive victories, keeping clean sheets in each game.

To those who have been watching the Eagles, it's little surprise that those results have coincided with Mamadou Sakho's arrival in the starting lineup.

Up to speed after being out of favour at Liverpool, the French international has been outstanding in the Eagles backline, a clear upgrade on any other centre-half at the club.

Sports / Lionel Messi Speaks Out On Ban : 'my Comments Were Made To The Air' by Footballmade: 12:56pm On Mar 30, 2017
Argentina are in the process of appealing the verdict but the player is already openly protesting his innocence.

'My comments were never directed at the first assistant, they were comments made to the air,' Messi told La Nacion.

Messi said 'la concha de tu madre', which translates as 'your mother's ****' — a common cursing phrase in Argentina — in the direction of Brazilian linesman Emerson Augusto do Carvalho at the end of the match after being harried and fouled by Chile's Jean Beausejour.

The official patted him on the head and tried to calm him down but Messi continued ranting.

Carvalho said later he did not understand at the time what Messi was saying.

Sports / Latest On Messi Fifa Ban by Footballmade: 12:22pm On Mar 29, 2017
Argentina will appeal the four-match ban handed to Lionel Messi by FIFA, national team secretary Jorge Miadosqui has confirmed.

The punishment, which rules Messi out of competitive action for his country until the final World Cup qualifier against Ecuador next season, was announced just hours before Argentina take on Bolivia in La Paz on Tuesday.

"We are surprised by the decision that has been taken," Miadosqui said. "We are very angry because of the way it was handled hours before playing. "We are going to appeal the FIFA sanction. There are previous [examples] to believe the punishment can be decreased.

"Messi is sad, as we all are. We do not agree with the way in which this was handled."

Messi's sanction relates to his actions in the closing stages of Argentina's World Cup qualifying win over Chile in Buenos Aires last week
