So here is my question. How much money was spent on refurbishing the refineries? Can they publicly tell us how much was spent to do this? I bet the outcome will surprise everyone. I am pretty confident that what was spent in refurbishing the old ones would be more than building a new refinery. Too bad Nigeria. It is time we started to question excessive spending on public projects |
na only them? |
Insult upon Injury!!!!The fact that he doesnt even know about the book speaks volume. Many of my friends here in the US read the book in junior high school. Upon it all, he offered $1m for the book wey dem do write before them born him papa. Insult!!!!!! So he thinks everyone can be bought abi? He must have said to himself that 'this african dude is gonna make me change my title'. Papa Achebe, more grease, power and 'adiagbon' oil to your soft elbows!!!!!!!! |
In as much as I hate to use the word 'hate', I must say that the Customs and Immigration services at our international airport are the worst I have ever seen. Not only are they the worst, the airline officials also use every means to extort money from passengers. I plan to get a spy pen to record all their shady dealings some day. We really need to do something about this. Those guys were asking me for 3k just because i had blended egusi, pepper and stocked fish in my luggage. |
I am looking for either a land or already completed house along Iwo-road, New-Ife Road or Olubadan Estate Axis of Ibadan. Depending on what offer is available, I am looking at something between 800k and 3m. Preferably, I want either the house or land in a well developed location and a quiet neighborhood in Ibadan. Email me on bayakus@gmail.com |

Haaa, na wah oo. What can I say? Follow your heart lady. Go ahead with him if you find peace in your heart. |
been thinking about it lately. I want both but in the absence of one, I will stick to the facial beauty. I want to wake up and feel happy that I ve got a pretty girl. I think the body beauty can be easily lost once you have four to five kids, but the facial beauty still remains there. No amount of make up can make a wowo girl finer. |
I wasnt going to contribute to the thread seeing the plethora of responses and comments made on the topic. I am in one way or the other a product of both system. I have studied both in Nigeria( University of Ibadan) and abroad. There are strengths and weaknesses to all of the arguments made. While I consider my study in Nigeria as the foundation, I have to admit that studying abroad is tougher. My school runs a quarter system, and gosh, you can die of heart attack considering the amount of stuffs you have to do in ten weeks. I wouldnt say much here cos so many people have responded. But in all both systems have its merit and demerit |
So what is it that kills with HIV? Is it the stigma associated with having it or the disease itself? A lot of people are dying with the stigma associated with it more than the infection itself. Can there ever be a time that seeing an HIV patient will be like seeing someone with Malaria? And of course, no one that is infected with HIV will come to this forum and say so. oR may be I am wrong? |

This is not funny but waiting for HIV result can be very agonizing. I had my 2nd HIV testing done recently and I vowed never to touch 'toto' again. The fear, agony, ill-thoughts and blood pressure i felt while waiting for the result got me to saying NO to 'toto'. But unfortunately, in less than 2 weeks after the joy of being clean, I was back at chopping my 'toto'. Please share your experience of waiting for your HIV testing!!!! Is there a 'do it yourself kit' that one can use? How best can one get tested without being subjected to the higb-blood pressure we suffer at the DR? |
get a mouse mask, go in the middle of the night and see if u can scare them too. verily, verily, I say unto thee, except the son of man scares the rats, the rats may take over ur house. my 2 cent advice ![]() |

Greatest U.I-ites !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I love my alma Mater. Ko fo shi!!!!!! But na wah o. Education in this country get as e be!!!! |
To use the word "hate" does not capture my deep seated dislike for Akala's administration since he became the governor. Everything about him speaks "foul". If there is any politician who ought to have been executed with a gun placed under his Penis, then it should be this guy. Did I hear him say "put smile on people's face" Hell no, he will put smile on all of those corrupt people who brought him to office. He has no idea to move the state forward. I find it funny him saying he "will aggressively pursue the internally generated revenue (IGR) to ensure the success of the budget". I remembered this guy had F9 in Economics and Government despite the fact that he paid to write SSCE. Somebody help me call "thief" 'Ole' 'Barawo' |

obowunmi:like I said earlier, u are a frustrated Nigerian. I have never in any way placed staying abroad as an end in itself. 2 universities in Nigeria are throwing offers at me which am still considering. Remembering people like u, who does nothing but show their frustration on others is one of the reasons I have not made up my mind yet. instead of you to appreciate honest Nigerian citizens abroad who are living thru honest means, NA so so envy and frustration u dey show. u 'aint worth my time, so keep smoking ur crack. it will land u somewhere good someday. all d best. |
obowunmi: obowunmi:@Obowumi or whatever your name is. You are simply exhibiting symptoms of a frustrated Nigerian who will jump at any opportunity to leave the country, even to as close as Ghana. I need not blow my trumpet here but not everyone that lives abroad do odd jobs. I am not a security man, neither do I own a cabu cabu. FYI, I teach in one of the Universities (which I would have loved to disclose but for privacy reasons) en route finishing my PhD. Allow well informed people to give their comments and stop being a village headmaster on this forum. I have always read your crack head responses on Nairaland and you have always shown yourself to be A--hole. I should not waste time replying you cos you cannot afford my time. >:To everyone in the house, thanks for your suggestions. Sometimes, you need a third party to come into a situation when certain old flames chose to be such and are now coming back to profess their love for you. I will take to your suggestions and stay away!!!!!!!! |
Dear Nairalanders, I have been a fervent reader of nairaland forum way long in Nigeria when I was looking for job. At different times of my life, I met these girls and dated them only for them to know that I now live abroad and now they both want me back. Are they for real? One of them has proposed already asking me to be the man in her life. Please advice!!!! |
