benileo: Thanks,
Can I get a list of document I will submit at the VFS office and also the list I will submit at UKVI. because my wife went with all my document, I just have my passport with me for the biometrics. I gave a rough outline of this a couple pages back. They will definitely take your completed and signed application form, your original TB certificate, your passport. I would advise you make a copy of anything original you send to them. |

MG2801: Thanks for your reply. During the flr application, will the degree route be accepted as it's been used for a successful previous application or would my hubby be required to take the ielets test? It can be used all the way through. Just make sure you use the Naric service. |

I went to my bank and they said I can't pay that amount wit my naira master card. Can my wife pay 4 me 4rm UK? I'm aware of limits on international purchases with Naira Mastercard. Yes your wife can pay using her UK card. |

MG2801: Hey guys, do you reckon it's best to do the B1 ielets test for spouse visa than using his degree certificates as he will be required to the English test for flr anyway. What are your thoughts? Thanks You could, I have heard a number of people sitting the B1 as that is what they would eventually need for FLR. However, if the degree was studied and examined in English and you have the degree certificate, letter from the University confirming this, as well as a transcript then you can always go down the comparability route with UK Naric. The certificate/statement from UK Naric will need to be submitted with the visa application though. |

Also I need help with a sample sponsor letter and we're to address the letter to, because am submitting all my documents at UK Visas and Immigration office at sheffield UK, should I address all my letter the UK Visas and Immigration office? Yes you can address it to the UKVI or the ECO. If the application has already been created you could use the GWF number as the reference in the letter. |

cruzmaxi9000: Thanks for your response. It is a regular one and I used it to apply on the 30th of August, 2016. Is there still any chance of getting the decision overturned in the appeal? Just so you're aware the appeals fees have increased about 500%. Paper hearing is now £490 Oral hearing is now £800 Also people have been waiting upto 18 months (so I hear, for a hearing date). |

tosine: Thanks for the reply. MSC was in the UK. ok. So you meet the English language requirements. Make sure you mention this in your application, that you are exempt because you studied so and so at so and so University in the UK. The thing to remember is, whatever documents you want returning back to you, please photocopy them. I know my husband's TB cert was sent back to him at the VAC. However, it's not unheard of for these people losing documents or forgetting to return documents back, so always make 2 copies, 1 to send with original and 1 to keep on file at home. |

tosine: I intend to Apply for the settlement visa in January.
What documents do I show here at the VAC as I intend to send to my wife all my original documents such as birth certificate, MSC degree, TB certificate to add to her own supporting documents to Sheffield.
Will they request for these documents here in Nigeria?
Thank you From what I remember. You need to submit at the VAC: Your passport Your printed and signed application form (make 2 copies and send 1 to your wife) TB certificate original (make 2 photocopies-send one copy to your wife) Send your MSC cert to your wife tell her to make 2 copies, she should send the original and photocopy (I'm assuming your MSC was done in UK?) VAF2 Appendix 2 form (can't remember if they took this, but make a copy either way). To be honest they will take what they need because they returned some documents back to my husband. |

abakilikiboy: You need let them know what you need for and it is strange to hear that some council. Text me the council name so that I can find out for you. It's not unheard of. Another lady in this thread mentioned she had the same problem. My tenancy manager was pretty cool but he said he couldn't write that specifically as there isn't any law stating that my husband cannot come and join me. |

abakilikiboy: You still need the borough council to confirm the room meets the required standard. The tenancy agreement is between you and your landlord. As said earlier that you need the confirmation from the borough council that the room meets the uk embassy requirement. Speaking from experience. The thing is some Councils won't write this. They can confirm the number of rooms that are in the property and that you are the tenant. They even consider a living room as an additional room nowadays. |

benileo: Hello house, Please I need your help, I want to apply at the VFS for my settlement visa 1, can I pay with my naira master card? 2, will it be black market rate? 3, which VFS office is the best Lagos or abuja. 4, I don't know what information to put in the Additional Information part.
I need your help pls 1. You could try but apparently (I am not sure if this has changed) but there is a limit for foreign/international purchases, so it might get declined. 2. It should be your bank rate unless your bank is called 'Black Market Bank' 3. There is not 'the best' it is the one that it is most convenient for the applicant to get to (people correct me please). Remember you have to go and submit your passport and do your biometrics etc. 4. Information that you wish to explain/clarify further, please use this space! |

toksys: thanks good people foreveryours abakilikiboy wallg123 please want to add to my qestion is the housing inspection needed for all accomodation types or is just for shared accomdation or only for council houses.is it optional if i have other requirement like tenancy agreement, letter from landlord or landlady, stating my wife and i can liive there together, and my utility bills
will appreciate With regards to renting Private accommodation I am not entirely sure of the additional supporting documents you can provide, however, you can, in the first instance, provide: -Tenancy agreement -Letter from Landlady confirming your tenancy and that it is OK for your spouse to live there and that all bills/rent will remain unchanged. -Utility Bills (Gas, Electricity, Phone etc) -Council Tax Statement/Bill Council rented accommodation: -Tenancy agreement -Letter from tenancy manager confirming your tenancy (they might not write that it is OK for your spouse to live there, not that it is not OK, it's just something I have found a lot of them do not do- there is no law stating your spouse cannot come and live with you in your rented council property, this only has an impact if you're in receipt of any housing/council related benefits). -Rent account statement (if you don't receive this automatically, you can request this from them) -Council Tax Statement/Bill -Utility Bills (Gas, Electricity, Phone etc) There maybe more that I have left off the list, especially regarding the private accommodation but hopefully others here maybe able to assist with that! |

As long as all the paperwork for the shared accommodation is in order and the Landlord agrees to the applicant being there. If you can prove/provide all this it shouldn't be a problem. |

wallg123: Mr toksys..... I've gone through your profile and it appears your wife is your sponsor. If this is the case, the burden of proof falls on your wife. Your wife has to show that she meets the financial threshold as well as other requirements in other for her to qualify to bring you over as her dependant. Your employment or unemployment status I believe has little or nothing to do with your application. I'd leave it to my Ogas @ the top to help you out from here...Goodluck you're right, his employment in Nigeria has nothing to do with the application. A majority of the requirements are from his wife. |

oladunni4real: this issue of address is something else, as for me i submitted my documents in tls VI and they collected my english test too. they did give me the slip but the postcode was different from the one on their website. and the address is also different from the ones have been told on the thread which was western house. Now am worried, we went with the address on the tls website, my question is do I get a mail from them that they have received the documents my husband sent to shefield? When I sent my documents to Sheffield. We didn't get a notification of receipt. However, I sent them by special delivery and tracked online and it was received. They also referred to my supporting documents in he decision letter so they definitely got them. |
Travel › Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Foreveryours201: 10:26am On Nov 15, 2016 |
Gbolaboy: Just a quick one pls.... where do we send the documents to? Is it the shiffield address on tlcontact website or elsewhere If you have registered with tls there is a link on the website for settlement applications, which opens and it gives you information, including an address of where to send your documents. Alternatively, in my husband's case when he went to submit his documents in Ikeja, he was given a slip with an address and note giving information as to what address the sponsor is supposed to send their supporting documents to. |
