I don't have any pithy for Northerners as it concerns terrorism, banditry or whatever term they choose to describe it. It is a typical case of " the chicken coming home to roost"
There was this grave silence in the North during the regime of Buhari, especially when his policies were clearly emboldening terrorism in the North.

For instance, they instituted the policy of rehabilitation of repentant terrorists; a policy where by, captured terrorists, who had killed and maimed thousands of people including Nigerian soldiers in the most barbaric way one can imagine, were taken to centres where they were clothed, fed fat and subsequently released with largees back into the society. Some were even recruited into the military and so on. The entire elites from the North never uttered a word to oppose this policy.

Secondly, Buhari emboldened the fulanis and indirectly encourage them to acquire dangerous and illegal arms. Fulanis became so bold that they were seen on many occasions brandishing weapons without fear of being arrested or prosecuted . The mayeti Allah castle breeders association and their headership, became so confident that they openly came out to issue death threats to farmers in Benue and other parts of the country. The fulanis became untouchable. When they get arrested for a crime, powerful elite from Abuja almost immediately mount insurmountable pressure on laws enforcement agents to get them released. I have witnessed this first-hand in many occasions, as my job affords me the opportunity to work closely with
police.

Buhari criminalised Baiafra and imprisoned their leader, yet he didn't see reasons to let terrorist from the North remain in prison.
He went as far as giving presidential pardon to hundreds of incarcerated criminals and terrorists in a certain prison in Kano.

Lastly, is the refusal of the North to admit that Almanjiri system is a tradition or religion that grooms terrorists. I spent over 3yrs in the core Northern Nigeria where I witnessed this ugly trend. It's a terrible practice, disgusting and an eye-sore, that should be condemned by any right thinking person.
I don't pithy them, especially the hausas, they are the most foolish and retarded tribeb I have ever seen in my life time. For long they have allowed the fulanis colonise and mess their region up. The miscreants causing his terror are largely fulanis.

Religion is not their problem, na illiteracy. Having certificates does not make you literate. No be Islamic countries be Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman, e.t.c.? Even Saudi Arabia don legalise Alcohol and their girls are contesting in the next Miss Universe in bra and pants like others. So where did Northern Nigeria get their own fake religion from?

When a President puts a Southerner in charge of dealing with terrorists and bandits, Northern politicians oppose and do everything possible to destabilise that President, especially if the President is from the South. They did that to Mr Jonathan.

There was a Chief of Army Staff from the South East that did quite well against terrorists then. I can't remember his name. Certain elements from the North wanted him removed.

The current President wanted to avoid all that palaver by putting virtually all the key defence offices in Northern hands, yet no improvement.

Not that I know whether the 'military personnel' quoted is fake or not.
