Responsibilities: Plan, coordinate and control of the Pre-Press units. To coordinate, schedule, facilitate and monitor pre-press and printing operations within agreed budgetary limits to ensure that orders are delivered according to specifications and within deadline. Reports to: Managing Director Responsible for: Quality Graphics Design, CTP, CTF and efficient Job scheduling on Printing Machines. Duties and Responsibilities: Production Management • Brainstorm and implement the daily printing schedule. • Liaise with the Procurement Officer to ensure that the materials required for printing are available in a timely manner. • Liaise with the Graphics department to ensure that artwork is perfectly done to customer's specification. • Liaise with the Press and Finishing Department to ensure that job are printed, trimmed,collated and binded according to customer's specification. • Responsible for all printing materials in the planning unit and ensures that they are replenished in a timely manner. • Provides direction and support during schedule interruptions to accommodate emergency requests. • Review approved samples before the full production process commences to track and remove errors quickly. • Responsible for filing approved samples. • Carry out spot checks during production to ensure that the orders are executed without errors. • Provide feedback to the Client Service Officer on production time and possible delivery date. • Provide consultation and assistance to clients regarding the appropriate materials and production process that will produce the results that they want for the finished job. Team Management • Direct and supervise the production staff in their day to day activities to ensure that they function at maximum efficiency with minimal downtime. • Coordinate the activities of each production sub-unit to ensure proper flow of output from one sub-unit to another. • Team motivation. • Create and implement an accountability system for each phase of the production to ensure that team members are accountable for their daily results. • Any other duties that may be assigned. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Production Management • Participate in daily alignment meeting to plan for the activities of each sub-unit (Graphics, CTP/CTF,Press, and Post Press) according to priority. • Less than 5% down time in the Production Unit. • All samples must be approved and filed. • Zero (0) cases of production errors. • 95% timely delivery for clients’ orders. • Zero (0) cases of material damages and wastage due to poor handling and management. • Submission of daily/weekly production schedule and report to the Managing Director. Note: It is important for the incumbent to be able to use Corel Draw, In-design, Adobe and Photo Shop application very well. However my advice to you is to always do your findings before you react to issues on social media because you may just be cutting yourself away from people that may be of help to you.
