Driver of Paul Walker's death car
identified as business partner
The driver of the sportscar, in which FAST &
THE FURIOUS star PAUL WALKER lost his life
on Saturday (30Nov13), has been identified as
professional race ace ROGER RODAS.

The former racing driver was behind the
wheel of the Porsche Carrera GT when it
collided with a light post and tree in Valencia,
California, burst into flames and exploded,
killing both Rodas and his actor pal and
business partner.
Jeff Westphal, a fellow race car driver who
was close to both the deceased, has posted a
message on Facebook.com, confirming that
Rodas was the driver of the vehicle.
He writes, "It is regrettable to inform
everyone that the world has been robbed of
two of the most generous, profound and
bright individuals that I have had the pleasure
to work with and call friends. Paul Walker and
Roger Rodas will be severely missed, and
although I am hurting from the loss of my
two friends, my heart goes out to the families
of the departed. Please wish them well and
know that they are still watching over us all!"
Rodas was the CEO of Always Evolving
Performance Motors, a professional
automotive body shop.
Fans have been gathering at the crash site on
Kelly Johnson Parkway since news of the
tragedy broke on Saturday evening. Leaving
flowers, cards and DVDs of Walker's most
popular films at the curbside, the devotees
staged a candlelight vigil on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, other devotees have taken to
Twitter.com to remember the 40-year-old
movie star, who was filming the latest Fast &
the Furious film at the time of his death.
Police reports suggest speed played a major
part in the crash.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for Universal Studios
- the company behind Walker's Fast & the
Furious films - has released a statement,
which reads: "All of us at Universal are
heartbroken. Paul was truly one of the most
beloved and respected members of our studio
family.
"This loss is devastating to us, to everyone
involved with the Fast & Furious films, and to
countless fans."
Production on the seventh film in the
franchise, which began in September (13), will
continue this coming week (beg02Dec13)
following a Sunday morning conference call
between Universal executives, producers and
the movie's director James Wan.
