I love my state and my people and I wish without any iota of doubt that things can be different from the design stage. It is always difficult to change when people have adopted the substandard level of development.

If you have visited the alleys of these countries, you will know that they are not so different from our people. The only thing these governments do is that, they prevent these things from happening by providing facilities people can trust to take away trashes from their communities without them keeping much within their space. I have monitored most european countries I have visited, they prevent crime by being proactive about the wellbeing of their people.

If we want to have similar standard of living with these first world countries, the governors should invest in amenities that will naturally make people adhere to the rules and regulations without even trying. You walk round my city, you will waste bins tied to streetlights and you dont need to walk any distance to see that you can dispose your dirt. Humans are generally lazy to keep the environment clean, what government does is to enforce is through prevention or correction. Over the years, prevention have been found to help the society grow rather than the through punishments.

We can build a real society and it comes generally from design and not correction. I have done quite a number of environmental research projects in Germany. These guys simulate every possible human thought-process that will put the society in danger. When they notice all the possible failures of the society, they design processes and amenities that will make it difficult (not impossible) to commit these crimes.

That is the kind of society people trust and will make the people know that it will be difficult to do wrong without going out of their ways to do it. We commit so many societal crimes because it is easy to commit them and not because it is difficult for us to be punished.

Yanga is from imo state but live in Anambra and delta state just like most imo indigenes that live in Anambra. He live in Onitsha / Asaba because he knows that Anambra is far better than imo state in all ramifications of development.

As for what Soludo has done, he is showing capacity to deliver the best money can afford. Now compare it to your backward useless imo state where almost all the roads are dilapidated and the governor Uzodimma is not even doing anything about it and has since relocated to Abuja due to high insecurity in imo state.

All the still motorable or dilapidated urban roads you see in Orlu Municipal LGA were done by IMSG; except those done by NDDC in Amaifeke-Ihioma area.

Local government Councils take charge of Council roads of rural Local Government Areas every where in Nigeria.

Anambra State governors reconstruct urban roads of Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi, etc designated urban centres in Anambra State.
Abia state government takes care of urban roads in Aba, Umuahia. Enugu State government recently transformed Nsukka urban infrastructures, including urban roads, to ultra modern status.

Some of you rag heads of Imo state declare Orlu a rural area. You may wish IMSG start to build another decking for another city in the state capital.

I likened Anambra to the America of igboland. I will explain this. The whole of igboland is fixated on Anambra just like the world is fixating on America.

Onitsha despite being a major commercial and industrial city is cleaner than Owerri that has no form of economic activity and this has resulted in high unemployment, poverty, insecurity, rise in commercial sex hawking, etc

FYI, this library has not been rehabilitated in more than 40 years! There have been several governors that spent 8 years in that time frame and did Nothing! If it was not that Soludo has demonstrated his desire to upgrade Anambra state, nobody would be appealing to him to paint a library because you know it would not happen.

Have you wonder for once why most imo indigenes prefer to live in Onitsha and Awka than living in Owerri? The answer is simple that Owerri is such a decayed town that has failed to attract even igbos from other states to live there not to talk of other Nigerians.

Onitsha may have its challenges just like every other Nigerian cities, but the condition of Owerri is despicably worse because imo state is among the top 10 most indebted state sin Nigeria but people keep asking where are the monies ? They were all looted by Okorocha, ihedioha, uzodimma, etc

Onitsha even as a major commercial city has always had the kind of infrastructures that Owerri dreams of like flyovers, ten lanes superhighways, cloverleaf interchanges, well planned neighborhoods, etc

There’s no doubt that when we consider all factors and all indices of development like roads, infrastructures, health, education, etc, Anambra comes tops as the most developed Igbo state.

The problem and reason why Owerri has remained a squalor , undeveloped, backward and economically unviable is because imo state indigenes have refused to elect good leaders and even when they find out that they made a leadership mistake they will still not be able to stop living in denial and talk to their governor to do the right thing.
