If my first thread was boring and holds no water, this one is suppose to losen you up.... Comments are desperately needed. Ehm.... Moderator, you fit help me like you did the other one. ![]() |
I looked around me as the stress on my bowels intensified and the sweat falling quickly from my open sweat pores turned into a mini shower splashing those who were sitted right in front of me. They turned once or twice to look at me but seeing the agony on my face they faced their fronts without any single word. I had sat down in church that fateful morning watching the service with keen interest when it hit me. At first I thought I wanted to fart, so I held onto the unwelcomed gas and kept look at the pulpit with rapt attention jotting down main points, so the gas deflated back into my system making me breath again with ease. I adjusted my buttocks and sat firmly on the opening of the gas chamber, any mistake here could result to multiple inter-lulu in motion which I cannot be deemed responsible for. Afterall, I had made up my mind to skip service that day. Mama had fed me the previous night with beans, baked beans to be precise and throughout the night my stomach had been upset, the gas building up but none coming out. I had woken up that morning with my stomach as round as a ball and making sound of a skin drum wen tapped on it gently. ''dum dum dum''. I had quickly run to the toilet after my fifth brother came out, I even chanced my twin sister who is the elder of the two. Bathing on sundays occurs according to age grade and each of my brothers makes it a routine to debowel their systems before taking their bath proper. I quickly pulled my trouser and sat on the toilet counting 1 - 50 and then using force to push the unwanted product from my system. Each effort was met with a brick wall. The shit was not forthcoming. I pushed and pushed and finally gave up when the pounding on the door intensified. ''Attai, na born you dey born abi you wan full suckaway with shit'' Chei, I jumped into the bath and quickly rushed my bath and found myself battling with the overdued shit and lots of fart right in the middle of a sermon. The first attempt to stop it had been a successful one. I thought all was over until it came back with a force stronger than the tsunami that no effort could send it back. I just sat there and compressed my anus and pressd it firmly to the plastic chair. Having trapped the gas on the plastic chair, I made the great attempt of pushing the air back into my system but it was proving stubborn. I was becoming wet under my armpit, the neck of my shirt too was soaking and my hand shaky as I held the pen to the paper not jotting anything, I was fighting a battle. ''Guy, na shit get you for inside church o, see falling of hands abeg, your yelow fineboy skin no go help you today'' My mind whispered into my ear. I looked round to see if it was someone from behind me that had said it but discovered the faces behind me looking with rapt attention at the pulpit. A soft laugh followed by a rumbling sound in my stomach, loud enough for people to hear and strong enough to make me vibrate on my seat ocurd. I presd my buttocks the more down to the chair. Raising my head, I saw eyes looking at me but ignored them and concentrated on not letting the fart out. ''Resist the devil and he will flee from thee'' The pastor seemed to be saying. I quickly braced myself and whispered a short prayer: ''I bind you spirit of fart and unwelcomed shit'' But instead of it to flee, it intensified. I paused and looked round again and this time, I made to get up, squeezing the opening of my anus tight, mistake could be deadly in this case. ''Bros, you dey block me'' A voice said from behind me. Eh, block wetin? I sat down dejectedly and waited for my chance to bolt. The distance between my position of sitting and the closest door was so far that I will not make it 5 meters before offloading the gas in the chamber. ''If you want to be born again, raise your hand up, bless you, stand up let me pray for you'' I did not wait for his statement to finish dropping before jumping straight up. Applause rang out for my seeming readiness to become born again. ''Come forward let me pray with you'' I was the first to reach the front. ''You see that pastor over there'' Which pastor again eh? ''Go with him, he has more word to share with you'' I doubled up and ran as fast as my joined legs plus tight anus could carry me. I made it first and as soon as the man moved towards the door, I rushed pass his and made it to the door. Just as I opened my leg to cross through the door and hasten my steps, all hell was let losed. The sound, both in gun style and silent gases came forth with anger and all my effort to stop it proved abortive. I ran and the sound followed me, I could feel little wet lumps in my trouser and as I turned back, I saw people falling down under the influence. I waited not. And did I ever go back to hear the rest of the story?? My brothers came back home that day bruised and tattered. A stampede had occurred to escape the gas from my gas chamber. |

''Ehm...ehm... My sister'' I spoke, taking a deep breath. My lips shaking. Her reaction the first time had created a lasting impression in my mind. She turned to look at me, her eyes becoming a shade darker as she recognized me. ''Yes, na wetin you want'' She asked her voice becoming a pitch louder. My heart tripled its rate of beat sending more blood through my veins and making my face turn bright red and sweat forming on my forehead. I swallowed hard, my adams apple resisting the flow of saliva down my gullet. What is the next word I had rehearsed because I was not expecting the shout from her though I knew the reception would be cold. ''I want you'' I spitted out. This drew a scornful laughter from her as she clapped her hand in amazement before proceeding to scrutinize me from my head right down to my toes like a dress inspector. I gazed at her and wondered what was going through her mind. ''Ehm, what do you say your name is again?'' She asked. I was caught off-guard by that question too. What has my name got to do with what I had just said or the manner at which she had looked at me. ''Attai'' Came the reply, my heart in my mouth expecting the bomb to drop. ''I'm Patricia'' She told me. My eyes blinked severally surprised at the sudden turn of event and my confidence boosted. So she now has a name. Why had she treated me the way she did the previous day I wondered. I extended my hand and she took it into a warm handshake winking at me and biting her lower lips in the process. ''Nice meeting Attai'' She was taking the lead when all of a sudden: ''I resemble who you go come dey toast abi I look like your level. Common to wear better cloth you no sabi and to even keep ur nose clean na job. See eh, if you ever come disturb me again, na water I go carry baff you'' I jumped back as if I had been stung by a scorpion, pulling my hands out of hers in the process. Her voice was gaining momentum as it poured out abundantly with passion. ''See as you come here dey smell of sweat and alcohol yesterday, your eyes red as if you smoke Igbo. See you, you think say I be fool wey go fall for you abi. Carry you self go another place because I no dey chop fine boy for house, agbero for outside'' I had taken some steps backward at the mention of Agbero. She might even know I deal in weed. Before I could restrain myself, my hands shot out from my side landing a slap squarely on her face. I had broken my golden rule, but in that situation I believed that some rules are meant to be broken. She screamed. Came out from her kiosk and started imploring people to come and help her as she stepped closely and grabbed my shirt. I tried pushing her hands off but instead she held tightly, rumpling my fine shirt and causing stains on it as people gathered watching my humiliation. I went mad with rage and landed a few more slaps on her face before I was pulled of her while she was held down. ''You go see, na me you slap abi, no even sleep for house self'' She threatened. I just arranged my shirt, turned round and walked home my head down and my steps unsteady. I kept asking myself what had prompted my going there that morning forgeting all about the fact that I wanted to make her mine. ''Ah ah, Attai, na wetin happen na, why you dey sweat and your shirt dey like this'' Ekaite asked as she rushed at me leaving the vegetable she was washing. I ignored her, opened my door and walked into my room lying on the bed turning all that happened in my head. Ekaite walked into the room and sat at the foot of the bed, her face a mask as she kept asking over and over again. ''Let me be for now please'' I pleaded with her. She stood up and went out leaving me to my thoughts. Soon there was commotion outside as I heard voices, male voices and then a farmiliar voice shouting above the male voices in a cry. ''Na the house be this, na the house be this'' I jumped up quickly as I smelt the trouble in the air. I was truly in for a rough day. I came down from the bed, lifted the far edge and brought out my base-ball bat, walked to the door and locked it from the inside. Soon the gate made squeaky noise as it was banged around, the compound outside was filled with shout. ''Na where him room dey, wey that person wey no fit hold himself carry hand touch my sister'' A farmiliar voice screamed. Deep and husky. I had heard that voice before but could not place where I heard it from. A hand banged at my door with full force with Ekaite's voice at the background pleading for things to be taken easy. I braced up my club, removed the hook from the door and waited for the door to jump open. The adrenaline in my system already sending bitter bile of hatred to my mouth as I remembered who has the deep husky voice. |
