No book has narrated succinctly Ijaw nationalism from the time of Dappa Biriye’s NDC to the arms struggle of Issac Boro. British born Igbo scholar did justice to her book on the the history of Ijaw nationalism from the 1940’s to the time of IYC/MEND militant activities.

The research published in 2009 gives much insight to hidden angles never told before about the Niger-Delta agitation. Written in English, the book features sub-sections in French language for international grasp. It was written in collaboration with the Council for Development of Social Science Research in Africa, and it's one of the book those interested in knowing about the hidden vestiges of Ijaw struggle before and after the war.

For those interested in understanding more about Ijaw nationalism, Isaac Boro’s short-lived Niger-Delta republic, Igbo antagonism as well as Ijaw political-cum economic ideological leanings, this book is for you.

We have watched how they slowly and forcefully turned christian countries like Lebanon and Turkey into Mvslim countries. No matter what Asari Dokubo does he would be seen as a Muslim first before anything and this is why I feel they should have their own county, like it or not Igbos was massacred in 1967-1970 by the Fulani Muslims and they told a Christian and a war criminal Gowon to do it and guess what the Fulanis removed the same man while he was away in Kampala.

Igbos would never allow Muslims to rule over them take it or leave it because we in this geographical expression are tribalistic like you have racism in the western world.



We can work with some tribes in the Niger Delta like Uwazurike suggested to achieve our freedom and we can go our separate ways, don't get me wrong I believe in freedom and freedom of worship you must understand South Easterners. Biafra is a Judeo, Christian, and traditional country and we are peace-loving people and we still believe in the religion of our forefathers.



The main reason why the Igbos don't trust Asari is that they feel his boss is the sultan of Sokoto because he is the leader of Muslims in Nigeria, look I am just telling you the feelings of the people in Igbo land and they feel Asari works for the Nigerian government.



Ask yourself how hard would it be for Asari to take Uwazurike's advice, don't they want their own independent country? Igbos would die for tribes in the niger delta so that they can achieve freedom our brave fathers, mothers, daughters, and sons did it then.



The Ijaw tribe of the Niger Delta should have their own country and I think they can coexist very well with other tribes, so I support an Ijaw nation the same way I support ibom republic, so I tell asari now to fight for the Ijaw nation

South East Governors and leaders on Saturday said they are against the agitation of Biafra by the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Igbere TV reports.

In a communique issued after a meeting in Enugu State, the South East Governors and leaders said they believe in one united Nigeria under a platform of justice, equality of rights, fairness, love and respect for one another.


They South East Leaders noted threats by some groups against people of South East and firmly promise to protect everyone
either from other regions or ours and pleaded with the leaders of other regions to protect their people living in their regions.


The statement reads,

"We condemn the killing of security agencies, burning of strategic infrastructure and killing of civilians in South East and other regions. We request our security agencies to please discharge their duties within the rules of engagement and the law"

"We request our National Assembly from the South East to support State Police creation in the ongoing constitutional amendment".

"We condemn in totality, the activities of violent secessionist groups in South East and elsewhere, we firmly proclaim that
we do not support them, they do not speak for South East. The impression that South East leaders are silent over some of our youths agitators for secession is not correct. South East Governors, Ohaneze President, National Assembly members, notable leader had come out publicly many times in the past to speak against such agitations. In order not to mismanage the unfortunate situation, South East Leaders have set up a committee to engage such youths to stop and allow elders speak to address such fears"

Same question goes to every supposed influential ijaw leaders, from Jonathan to the least person. U need to see the way some shell officials I and some others took to tour round my community after an EIA meeting as host community for a new pipeline construction. When I showed them our impoverished community and the only house prof. Okoko has in the community, they couldn't stop laughing. This was a man they respected and feared so much. Despite cornering the whole oil money in my community, nigga didn't do anything for us before he died. He impoverished my family after stealing our lands. But he was one of ijaws strongest leaders and the voice of Ijaw, shouting resource control everywhere and always blamed the north and nigeria. What I found about the ijaw people is that we are very selfish, even to ourselves. Just look at tiny Bayelsa state, yet our leaders can't develop it despite our huge allocations. The state capital is a mess. Our big men would rather spend their ill gotten money on women and buzz, dancing to awigiri. There is no creativity all. Check the state, there are no single manufacturing and high labour involved businesses and companies run by ijaws, apart from very few hotels. The youths are never smart, except wearing smart etibo shirts and claiming IYC nonsense. I am disappointed in my people.
